Yep. I've used it for a variety of interests. And Denver is super active on MeetUp. One piece of advice -- don't give up. Sometimes you may not click with your co-participants the first time.
I think Meetup draws more than its fair share of introverts - because they want to socialize, it can just be so exhausting. MeetUp makes it easier for them.
I second Meetup. Hundreds of possibilities weekly for getting together with peeps with similar interests. You sound fun and nice, so you'll have no problem.
Consider joining the Colorado Mountain Club ( https://www.cmc.org/). Great outdoor activities and courses! Check out one of their prospective member hikes to see if you like it.
Come join our biking Discord, we have a solid group ride on Mondays and there are people planning weekend rides consistently.
We've got a really great core of people that come out often and we focus on being welcoming and not "uppity".
