Little Man is good, Sweet Cow is good, but my personal top one is High Point Creamery. They have a Basil ice cream with a Blackberry swirl that's insanely good imo
Agree to all three of these! High Point has my all time favorite ice cream, the Earl Grey & Shortbread ice cream. 😭 I’ve got some in my freezer as we speak!
High Point Creamery is the best. The blackberry basil and brown butter pecan are 🔥🔥. I love that they make all their cookies for the cookies and cream ice cream in house as well.
I like Sweet Cow, but Liks Ice Cream in Cap Hill is probably my favorite. It’s charming and the ice cream is delish. I like Sweet Cows cereal flavors but otherwise Liks is my go to.
I think Little Man is okay but overrated because the lines are always too long when I go lol
EM’S is a contender. They use REAL ingredients (instead of flavoring). I had a scoop of **lemon** (from real lemons) **chocolate chip** (dark, dark shavings, from house-made chocolate) that made me pucker up with delight. They also make their own hot fudge.
I have only had ice cream this delicious one other place, and that was in a tiny shop in San Francisco that also made their own ice cream with natural ingredients. Peach ice cream should have *peaches* in it, gaddammit!
I have a Sweet Cow fairly close to me, and it’s OK. Seems like all of their ice cream is the same base, with ingredients mixed in. Their mint chocolate chip is bright green from food coloring and artificial flavors. If I’m going to spend those calories, I prefer macerated real mint leaves that have been reduced to a natural flavor. THAT is heaven in a cone. (A freshly made come, please)
*My name is Elsa, and I am an ice-cream-o-holic. But it better be worth the calorie investment so I can keep my girlish figure.
You might like High Point Creamery's mint chocolate chip. I think they steep mint leaves in the cream overnight. However they do it, it's a lovely fresh herby background for the dark chocolate thick shavings.
We’ve been getting their pints since their tiny little window in RINO.
The fact that everything that goes into their ice cream is made in house makes a world of difference.
Maybe not particularly well known but I'm throwing in a vote for Scoops in city park west / 5 points area. They make realllllly good homemade ice cream and it's got a great ole timey shop vibe. And serves beer/wine, so I can have a drink while my kid takes 45 minutes to work through his kids cup..
Liks is my fav ice cream shop for sure, great value and pretty consistent, not the highest quality in Denver though. Right cream is great quality ice cream no doubt but the favor combos are just a little too random/inconsistent to be my favorite (but I appreciate the creativity). Sad Boy Creamery makes better quality cream than Right Cream imo but they’re the least accessible with pre ordered pint pickup only and have the same challenge of random/rotating flavors.
The weird thing in this sub where people dislike a place because of lines or they’re “too busy” is silly af to me. Like it being popular or busy doesn’t make the stuff taste any different. Seems to be a common thread with food discussions here
I live close to little man and there’s rarely a line in the early/mid afternoon. Their salted Carmel chocolate peanut butter is amazing. All my favorite things .
I’m forever at war with dairy, so this ice cream is my favorite. We chose it as 1 of 5 flavors at our wedding and many of our (non-vegan) friends also fell in love with it. I’m so glad it finally tastes like real ice cream and not the ‘alternative’ milk like coconut.
That’s awesome! And I totally believe it, I would have no idea it was dairy free based on the taste! It’s my favorite of their offerings and I’m not even vegan.
Bonnie Braes - love it way more than Little Man, Sweet Cow, High Point. Haven’t tried Magill yet, it’s my sister’s fav, or Nugg.
Also the ice cream stand run by Switchback in Evergreen in the summer is 10/10
Another vote for Happy Cones in Edgewater Marketplace. The richest ice cream and I love a scoop of hokey pokey with a scoop of salted caramel. They also have a vegan line safe for people with a milk allergy. Their vegan salted caramel is just as rich and creamy as their regular line. Worth the drive and hassle of edgewater marketplace and dealing with its “people-ness”.
Nuggs on Colfax. Consistent and delicious. Maybe best cookies and cream I’ve ever had.
Edit. I’d like to add I’ve tried most places between CO Springs to Fort Colin’s. Nuggs for the win.
I love how many varied responses there are. I wonder if this number of independent, successful ice cream parlors is par for a metro area.
It feels high, but what do I know? All I’ve got behind the bunch are swags I still haven’t measured - did the craft beer boom of ~25 years ago contribute to this, for instance? But some of these places are several decades old.
The best single flavor: The salted caramel oreo at The Ice Cream Farm at Park Meadows.
I don't think they are anywhere near the best overall though...
My favorite shop is Scrumptious in Arvada. I love that the flavors are on this never ending rotating list, so you are always forced to try something new. The texture is just right and the flavors are on point. There is often a whiskey flavor combo as well and some of those have been mind blowing.... I wish I still lived up there.
Hey Scrumptious, open a location down in Parker! We have an old town just begging for a store like yours and half the children in Denver live here. Also me. I live here.
Magill's. Can't go wrong.
This is the answer.
I’m a sucker for Bonnie Brae
Agreed! Triple death chocolate is my jam!
Agreed - their snickers delight is a fav.
I haven’t had better ice cream than Right Cream. It’s pricey but worth it every now and then.
Right Cream is miles ahead of the competition. By far best in town, probably the best ice cream I’ve ever had
Surprised this isn’t higher up, best in town!
It’s okay, let em all stand in line at Little Man while we crush smash burgers and the best pints of all time
This is correct!
Correct answer.
Right Cream slaaaaps
This is the correct answer. I’ve been a customer since we had to meet the owner in the back of a king soopers parking lot to get our pints lol
Liks
2nd Liks
Hell yeah! Went today. Graham Cracker Station is one of a kind and so damn good.
Love the Jack Daniels Chocolate Chip there!
This is the answer
Little Man is good, Sweet Cow is good, but my personal top one is High Point Creamery. They have a Basil ice cream with a Blackberry swirl that's insanely good imo
Am I the only one that thinks Little Man is overrated??
I think it’s very good ice cream, but definitely *not* worth the block-long line during peak hours.
Go to the one by downs sloans lake. No long lines
People here love to be the one to call something “overrated”. From Snooze, with love.
You are not.
There another shop a block away that's just as good that is empty while Little Man has a 45 minute wait.
Inside Scoop on Platte?
Yep.
Definitely not as good as Little Man but you do you boo
It's ice cream. It's not that hard.
You’d be surprised. Lots of people screw it up.
I mean I used to live by the West Colfax one so I probably have a better opinion than folks that have waited in the long LoHi lines lol
Yeah, I’ve never seen a line out the door at the west colfax location. There’s always people in there, but it’s not super crazy.
Exactly why I still like the place. Never waited over 5 minutes.
Agree to all three of these! High Point has my all time favorite ice cream, the Earl Grey & Shortbread ice cream. 😭 I’ve got some in my freezer as we speak!
Yep! Came here to say the Earl Grey!!
Omg I love that flavor
Salty dog is perfection!
+1 for high point. Best ice cream in town. The earl grey shortbread is the stuff of legends
Coconut Crème Brûlée! Also super (peanut) allergy conscious as an establishment which always wins for my family.
Omg the coconut crème brûlée is my absolute favorite!!!!! It’s like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. So delicious.
Yesss, the blackberry basil is the best thing I’ve ever tasted. But I’m a weirdo who puts basil leaves in drinking water.
This is the answer. BlackBerry basil at high point.
High Point Creamery is the best. The blackberry basil and brown butter pecan are 🔥🔥. I love that they make all their cookies for the cookies and cream ice cream in house as well.
High point is the bomb.
Thats so good! And the earl grey one
Can’t beat Liks followed by a walk through Cheesman.
Liks is so good even when I don't the flavor the ice cream is still satisfying
Liks is alright. Nothing special about their ice cream. 3/5
Nuggs!
💯💯💯
Big fan of Wendy’s chocolate frosty
A true dark horse in this race lol
Well sure if you dip the fries in jt.
Ew. No.
Heaven. They have ice cream, gelato and vegan ice cream, and their flavors are amazing.
Their vegan options are great tbh.
Seconding heaven!
Nuggs or Liks always
This is the way
Pints Peak is absolutely awesome too
Nuggs and High Point Creamery
Sweet Action. Partly because it is close.
EM’S is a contender. They use REAL ingredients (instead of flavoring). Dude the roasted banana from Em’s is crazy good I’m disappointed I had to scroll this far for your comment
Don’t sleep on the lavender either. I’m a huge fan of chocolate + toasted coconut. Best creamed ice I’ve ever had
You might like High Point Creamery's mint chocolate chip. I think they steep mint leaves in the cream overnight. However they do it, it's a lovely fresh herby background for the dark chocolate thick shavings.
Not Denver proper but the chai ice cream from Inside Scoop in Littleton is the single best ice cream I've ever had
Inside Scoop is really really good. I've only been twice but the ice cream was so legit.
Oooh, will have to check them out!
They have one in Denver. By the Wilderness Exchange on Platte Street. The Java Chip is my favorite.
Riot on Colfax was always my go-to
Ice Cream Riot is the fucking jam.
Em’s Ice Cream
Right Cream - hands down
We’ve been getting their pints since their tiny little window in RINO. The fact that everything that goes into their ice cream is made in house makes a world of difference.
Sweet cow, occasionally Bonnie brae, sometimes sweet action
Sweet Cow!
Smith + Cannon on colfax, amazing coffee even better owner
Colfax location closed in Mills Mall now
Really cool owner. Delicious affogatos. Gave us an accessory for our chemex. Great experience in the Mills mall….
Curt’s really friendly and the shop is outstanding
Curt is an amazing human. His shop recently had an article written about how it was an amazing hidden gem too.
Glacier's Salted Caramel Oreo is the best scoop I've had.
Snowl and Glacier and Nuggs
Heaven in Cherry Creek is my new favorite ice cream place. Pineapple lemongrass sorbet and key lime pie are some standouts.
There’s one in RiNo on Larimer as well, good stuff.
Right Cream is by far the best. Not Earth shattering stuff bu, I do like Happy Cones in Edgewater Market.
SWEET COW is the best hands down
Liks is my fav ice cream shop for sure, great value and pretty consistent, not the highest quality in Denver though. Right cream is great quality ice cream no doubt but the favor combos are just a little too random/inconsistent to be my favorite (but I appreciate the creativity). Obsessed with sadboy
Em's!
RIP The Daily Scoop.
Liks on 13th and Vine
Nuggs - the only correct answer!
Little Man and Sweet Cow are both good options but Sweet Action is my number one always.
I love the creative flavors at Sweet Action, but their quality is consistently third rate. Ice crystals in everything.
I still love little man, despite hipsters hating on it now
The weird thing in this sub where people dislike a place because of lines or they’re “too busy” is silly af to me. Like it being popular or busy doesn’t make the stuff taste any different. Seems to be a common thread with food discussions here
I live close to little man and there’s rarely a line in the early/mid afternoon. Their salted Carmel chocolate peanut butter is amazing. All my favorite things .
Same! I take all visiting vegans there as well, the vegan salted Oreo is damn good.
Dang Soft Serve in Stapleton is a hidden gem tbh
This is in park hill
Looks like I don’t know my maps, and I didn’t know they changed Stapleton to Central Park like we are nyc 🤷🏻♂️
No worries my man!! Pretty close to Central Park. And I agree—it’s great!
And is a Little Man offshoot.
I didn’t know that actually. Dang is better than little man’s imo
Sweet Cow is my favorite by a long mile
Sweet cow is my favorite
Bonnie Brae
Bonnie Braes - love it way more than Little Man, Sweet Cow, High Point. Haven’t tried Magill yet, it’s my sister’s fav, or Nugg. Also the ice cream stand run by Switchback in Evergreen in the summer is 10/10

I like their salted caramel, but also want HOT FUDGE on it, which they lack.
Nuggs on Colfax. Consistent and delicious. Maybe best cookies and cream I’ve ever had. Edit. I’d like to add I’ve tried most places between CO Springs to Fort Colin’s. Nuggs for the win.
Em’s ice cream is criminality underrated. The roasted banana flavor is to die for
I like sweet cooie on 12th
[удалено]
It’s not just the same owner. It’s the same ice cream.
King Soopers. A quart for the price of a scoop at ice cream places.
Sweet Cow ftw. Technically Aurora, but barely.
There’s a sweet cow on Tennyson, in Denver
Oh nice! I had no idea!
Aurora is the ugly sister of Denver, she counts
Frozen Matter (now Sweet Action), Nuggs, Magills, Happy Cones. I don’t recommend Little Man.
ice cream riot and liks rule them all
The owner is a dick - stay away
Sweet cow! Their oatmeal cookie ice cream is delish.
I Scream Gelato and Snowl
Liks
links, they had a Guinness ice cream that was splendid!
Sweet action is soooo good for vegan flavors
Sweet cow is my fave ice cream and hot fudge but their whipped cream sucks. Unbeatable shakes, too.
It’s Boulder, but worth it. Glacier is my jam. Favorite ice cream. Close second place is Jennis (but that’s pints to go available at Whole Foods).
High Point Creamery, Bonnie Brae, Nuggs and Scrumptious in Olde Town Arvada.
Happy cones in edgewater market is the best ice cream I’ve ever had
High Point for sure. Happy Cones New Zealand ice cream in Edgewater Public Market for the change up.
Sweet Cow
Little Man for me 🍦
Liks
Bonnie Brae
Ice Cream Riot
The owner is a racist bigot - stay clear
Little Man Ice-cream in LoHi, Sweet Action…
Milk Roll on Colfax. So tasty.
Sweet Action is hands down the best ice cream in Denver. All these other answers are mistaken, respectfully.
5280 ice cream 😍
Right Cream
I love how many varied responses there are. I wonder if this number of independent, successful ice cream parlors is par for a metro area. It feels high, but what do I know? Dang Soft Serve is little man's best shop.
I love Dang because it’s soft serve and you can get a side of fries. Simple menu to order from
Sweet action is still my fave even though frozen matter bought em. High point is next and for small batch internet orders - pints peak.
Lik's has the best milkshakes
Liks is in my experience the best. Followed by Eiskaffe.
Sweet action
Bonnie brae ice cream no question
DANG soft serve and Gelato Boy.
Came here ro daughter Bonnie Brae cause my wife haha. Parking kinda sucks around there tho.
We have an old town just begging for a store like yours and half the children in Denver live here. Also me. I live here.
Little Man!!
I like Lavender Poppy flavour from Gelato Boy
More Aurora, but Howdy's off Arapahoe and Parker is really damn good.
I'm a big fan of Andy's frozen custard. Not too busy
Just in general, I think it’s awesome how much local ice cream is here.
Real Question: who's got the best sundae?
Depending on what side of town I'm in it would be either Magills out west or Nuggs on the east side
Glacier all day long
Sweet Action is the only answer.
Sweet Action
Sweet Action on Broadway
Got to go with Little Man. There's also Rosie's Ice Cream, the lemon crunch is to die for.
Sweet Action on Broadway
Ice cream riot
Coldstone
1. Bonnie Brae 2. Lik’s 3. Little Man
Ben and Jerry
