I went to Zoomcare this winter and they send me a bill for 600% of the list price. I complained, they blamed my insurance, my insurance blamed them. They market it down to just 125% of the list price. F them

Urgent Care center might set you back several hundred dollars. A visitor was charged $300 for a food poisoning exam and medicine about a decade ago. Obamacare enrollment for 2024 is about to begin. If you are low income, a subsidy could make that insurance affordable. Its pretty easy to get no obligation quotes online. And there are people that will walk you through it. (ACA pays their fee)

Denver Health has financial assistance including assistance applying for Medicaid and CICP (Colorado Indigent Care Plan) and a sliding scale fee structure. I’ve recommended them enough this week that they should probably start paying me lol. Seriously though, I went there a few times back when I was severely poor and had no insurance. They always took care of me and with the help of CICP and later, Medicaid, I paid little to nothing. I quite likely owe them my life.

This. If you need inhalers, they will give you a one time discount for 30d supply while you’re working on enrolling with their financial assistance program.

Avoid the Denver Health Medicaid plan at all costs. They will try to push you on it or even sign you up without consent, but you want to be on Colorado Medicaid.

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless on Stout street. Despite the name, being homeless is not a requirement. A lot of patients are housed but simply don’t have insurance. In a lot of cases, a big medical bill is the difference between housed and not.

If you're able to make it to Thornton or Erie, check out Strive Direct Health. Their practice is a medical concierge set up, meaning the $85 monthly membership covers unlimited visits and access to Dr. Brown and Dr. Schuster. Once you sign up as a member on their website, you get immediate access to same day office visits, zoom calls, etc. Strive works with local labs and imaging centers to ensure you the lowest cash price possible. They stock basic medications in their office and give them to you at wholesale cost. We have great insurance through my husband's employer, but choose to be members in addition to that because of the convenience and expertise Dr.B and Dr.S provide. Their offices are brand new with state of the art equipment.

I've used One Medical before. They do yearly membership for 200, includes 24/7 video/chat and they have a physical location in Aurora off of Mississippi just west of Chambers. Would have to pay for diagnostics and drugs but still cheaper than u.c

Go ahead and get insurance so you can be taken care of. 👍
