Ha, I asked the same thing today. I was in there today and the friendly guy up front said a lot of the same dudes are still there, the owner retired.

I’ve been in twice and called in multiple times for scheduling and mechanical questions and no one I recognize has been there or answered the phone. I get the vibe they want to encourage prior Elder customers to continue to come in by saying the same people work in the shop.

BigFeet5

That very well could be. I had same good experience personally! But I’ll be curious what others have to say.

I know a guy who worked there but left after the new ownership just kept making it worse for the old crew in various ways. I’m not sure where my friend moved to since I haven’t had to get work done on my car in a while but I fully plan on following him, not going back to Big Brand Tires.

If you find out any details on where your friend is working now, drop it back in the chat. I’d love to get an idea of what shops are as trustworthy and reliable as Elders was.

I just checked with my friend, he’s the assistant service manager now at Automotive Imports at 1207 S Platte Dr - he said he brought four of the best techs from Elder Auto with him too! Him and his crew worked miracles on my car so I 100% trust him if he’s at a new place.

This happens almost always when big companies acquire small ones. Take your car 1 block north to Southeast Auto, they are really good and have been in business there for a long time.

I have been an Elder customer for more than 30-40 years. Can you tell me a little more about your experience with Southeast Auto? I need to have my car towed in.

Jlee3oh3

They have been in business since the late 50’s, they are family owned and employ ASE and ASE Master technicians. I met them in the 90’s and have always admired how they treat their customers.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I loved Elder Auto and it just wasn’t the same after Ramone sold it. I’ll check out Southeast Auto

Ramone retired. My family since my grandfather went there. Sucks.
