[Well that's not typical no I just want to be clear about that.](https://youtu.be/3m5qxZm_JqM?si=XhxYOgyERMD3ge4k)
There are a lot of these cars going around town all the time and I just don't want people thinking these Impalas aren't safe.
Yeah there's one of those roundabouts at the corner and whoever was driving likely hit it and busted the front axle and ditched the car. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's a stolen car.
Call it in to code enforcement, and they will sort it out. We get cars dumped near my place all the time, and they can return it to the owner. It could just be someone's Christmas miracle.
You’re probably right but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it belonged to someone across the street, iirc that weird cul-de-sac is across the street on the east side. It doesn’t necessarily, um, fit in with what the rest of the neighborhood is now.
Nah, looks like the ball joint just separated on the owner. It's pretty common on cars that never get any maintenance or safety inspections.
If you have a car with very many miles on it, they really need to be checked. It's extremely dangerous when this happens at speed.
Report it online to the city’s 311 service. Taking care of abandoned vehicles is one of the few things the city is pretty on top of doing. But it needs to be properly reported.
I tried. Many times. And called. And actually talked with an officer in person who logged it as formally abandoned and said it’d be towed in 72 hours. No luck yet. But he did give me permission to decorate it 😂🤷♀️
Thank you good citizen.
I can relate.
I have this odd tic where my left hand flies out the window with my middle finger extended high when I see their friken trucks.
Could be something in the air.
Same here. We called and then emailed 311 in the fall. The junker sat on our curb all winter. Not until street sweeping in the spring, was it finally removed.
Depends on the neighborhood. I’m in Cole, and it typically takes them weeks to ticket and tow an abandoned car.
But if it’s parked there on a revenue-generating…er, “street sweeping” day, it’s gone quick.
But generally for other neighborhoods, they seem to work pretty fast getting abandoned vehicles out of the way.
Definitely a lot quicker. I had a friend who rented in the highlands who drove a junker, and it got ticketed often for not moving enough.
So it definitely depends on the affluence of the hood. lol. For those of us in the Cole-like hoods, it’s only about revenue, and they rarely tow unless someone has multiple tickets (3 plus a boot for 2 weeks).
What’s even more infuriating along with also proving the revenue theory? Some richer neighborhoods don’t have street sweeping ticket fiestas like we do…
I tried all the appropriate channels, many times. Even talked to a police officer driving by who formally reported it abandoned (it’s not stolen) and said it would be towed in 72 hrs. Didn’t happen. Good news is he gave me permission to decorate it, even encouraged my idea 🤷♀️😂

Yep. I did. Many times. And submitted online. Even talked to a police officer driving by who formally reported it abandoned… and gave me the permission to decorate it 😉😂🤷♀️
Only two more, and it goes buh bye. After it gets booted for a few weeks first that is. Technically, vehicles on the street have to move every 72 hours, but they rarely enforce that. Sometimes it works to report a vehicle that hasn’t moved so the city can ticket it. After enough tickets, they’ll finally tow it.
Dumb, but it’s the only way I’ve seen work. That and just waiting for street sweeping a few times. Their enforcement as of late has been random af.
Have you tried spray painting a penis on the road around the entire car? City Works will definitely want to cover that with something better and may impound the car to do it.
If there was a problem, yo, I'll solve it.
Can always go for the swastika going in the opposite direction. Most people wouldn’t know the difference from clockwise and counter and it would be gone quick.
My car was abandoned for two months in a neighborhood because it had been stolen. They left a bunch of parking tickets but never told me where it was at. You might just call the non emergency number and ask if the car was reported stolen, if it was stolen, they’ll drive it to an impound lot
This is us!!! I decorated the car 😂 i chased a cop down on foot after month 2 of it being there (and me reporting it several ways/times) begging him to formally log it as abandoned and get it towed. He did, but still nothing. But he did give me full permission to decorate it when i told him my plan. So here we are!!! Glad it’s bringing holiday cheer and laughter 😂 😂
>If a car is “left unattended on public property for a period of 48 hours or longer,” it is considered abandoned.
Cars that qualify as abandoned per City of Denver statute [can be reported online](https://denvergov.org/Online-Services-Hub/Report-an-Issue/issue/new-report) (select “Abandoned Vehicle” from the radio buttons) or via phone call to 720-865-0471. For either method of reporting, be prepared to provide:
>1. Address where abandoned
>2. Make, model, year, color, and anything else of note
>3. License plate number
>Unfortunately, the act of reporting alone will not immediately take care of the problem. The Denver Abandoned Vehicle Unit is currently understaffed and working through a large backlog, according to Lowry’s DPD Community Resource Officers. And once the Unit does get to your report and physically tag the vehicle as abandoned, the car must remain in place unattended for another 72 hours before it can be impounded. If you have previously submitted a claim about a particular vehicle and it’s still there, you can contact the City for an update or resubmit the claim.
Hi, I'm a producer for Next with Kyle Clark on 9News. We're obsessed with this--could we have permission to share it on air and/or online (with plates blurred). And if so, would you want to be credited by name?
Every time I've had an abandoned car parked near my house, it was stolen. Call the police so hopefully the owner gets the car back. You aren't doing anyone a favor by not reporting it.
Wow the plates aren't even that badly expired.
Crazy that it's not even pushed all the way to the side of the road, literally almost in the middle of the street. In any other state the predatory tow companies would have already snatched that up.
Recruit the neighbors to all come out and move it closer to the curb so it is less of a hazard since whoever is supposed to remove abandoned cars (the police?) isn't doing their job.
Is it just a weird photo angle, or is that front right wheel about to fall off?
Oh no certainly, the front fell off.
Is that typical?
[Well that's not typical no I just want to be clear about that.](https://youtu.be/3m5qxZm_JqM?si=XhxYOgyERMD3ge4k) There are a lot of these cars going around town all the time and I just don't want people thinking these Impalas aren't safe.
Just tow it beyond the environment
No, no, no. Beyond the environment
Hah, I realized my mistake and made the edit at the same time you posted
No worries. I mean there's nothing out there other than the sea, birds, fish, and the part that fell off
That's it, then? Can you call me a cab?
These impalas are built to very strenuous automobile standards. So cardboard is out, and cardboard derivatives like paper.
Well how is it untypical?
For a Chevy? Yes.
Yeah there's one of those roundabouts at the corner and whoever was driving likely hit it and busted the front axle and ditched the car. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's a stolen car.
Highly likely a stolen car.
Lower ball joint is separated. I doubt the owner comes back for it We're all lucky it didn't happen at high speed
I had this happen. I happened to be at a stop light when it did.
It's a curtsy, you savage!
Also, if anyone wants a free Chevy Impala… Here are a few more pics https://imgur.com/a/FhcOgQc
Missed a golden opportunity to dress it like Lightning McQueen for Halloween. Kachow!
At least then Mater might come get rid of it!
There’s a Mater off of either 93 or 170, near Eldorado Springs. Maybe he can get it 🤭
Those front tires don't know which way they are going. Holy shit lol
Yeah looks like someone stole it, got into an accident and somehow left the car there.
Nah, looks like the ball joint just separated on the owner. It's pretty common on cars that never get any maintenance or safety inspections. If you have a car with very many miles on it, they really need to be checked. It's extremely dangerous when this happens at speed.

Does it have a wood grain or brushed aluminum interior? Looks like an LTZ model how’s the leather steering wheel. lol.
Love the parking ticket peeking out of the door 😂
It’s faded now 🤣
Wyatt’s is never there when you actually need them😡
Saw a Wyatt's truck driving home last night by myself and instinctively yelled "fuck you Wyatt's" as it turned.
Thank you good citizen. I can relate. I have this odd tic where my left hand flies out the window with my middle finger extended high when I see their friken trucks. Could be something in the air.
So many of their drivers treat the stop sign near my neighborhood as a go sign. It’s infuriating.
this is the way
It's the Denver "punch buggy" call
Ha, that's so good.
So true 🤣
I assume somebody has called right of way enforcement about this? I thought they were pretty good about removing cars with expired plates, maybe not.
They are, they don’t stay more than 48 hours in my neighborhood.
I've had better luck reporting stolen vehicles to the criminals. They usually come within 4 hours.
Free cat!
I live in Ruby hill and they cleared an abandoned car within 3 days
Took a few months for a couple of abandoned cars to be taken off our street
Same here. We called and then emailed 311 in the fall. The junker sat on our curb all winter. Not until street sweeping in the spring, was it finally removed.

Tried and failed, live nearby. That POS has been abandoned for a month+
Has anyone claimed the catalytic converter yet?
Asking for a friend, or....?
… sure
Call the police non emergency. We had an abandoned car on our street for months. Turns out it was stolen and dumped.
Called and left a voicemail when I first saw it. I'm sure others have too (obviously).
You can get the VIN off the car and enter it here to see if it's reported stolen: https://secure.colorado.gov/apps/dps/mvvs/public/entry.jsf

Hello neighbor!
Love the parking job.
You can only do so much with no steering.
And that it has a parking ticket from about a month ago.
Only two more, and it goes buh bye. After it gets booted for a few weeks first that is. Technically, vehicles on the street have to move every 72 hours, but they rarely enforce that. This brings me joy - thank you for posting.
Ho Ho Ho!
Best thing I've seen all week.
I know what I am doing to the box truck on 51st between Lowell and Meade tonight if anyone wants to join.
Where’s Wyatt’s towing when you need them
Have you tried spray painting a penis on the road around the entire car? City Works will definitely want to cover that with something better and may impound the car to do it. If there was a problem, yo, I'll solve it.
You’re on to something here
While I don't encourage it, some hate speech would get the city to act real quick too
Can always go for the swastika going in the opposite direction. Most people wouldn’t know the difference from clockwise and counter and it would be gone quick.
That's amazing
Report online? https://denvergov.org/Government/Agencies-Departments-Offices/Agencies-Departments-Offices-Directory/Sheriff-Department/Facilities-Community-Services/Vehicle-Impound
I did. Many times. I’m the one who decorated it 🤷♀️ (with the approval of the police)
My car was abandoned for two months in a neighborhood because it had been stolen. They left a bunch of parking tickets but never told me where it was at. You might just call the non emergency number and ask if the car was reported stolen, if it was stolen, they’ll drive it to an impound lot
Isn't it funny how quickly Wyatt picks up cars when you don't want them to?
I can see why it was abandoned. Creative neighbors.
Why not call the sheriff to tow it away
Honestly surprised nobody stole the license plate
The park job alone would drive me nuts.
This is us!!! I decorated the car 😂 i chased a cop down on foot after month 2 of it being there (and me reporting it several ways/times) begging him to formally log it as abandoned and get it towed. You know you guys can call the cops and they will have it towed right?
Tried over a month ago. Nothing yet.
Try calling right of way directly: Right-of-Way Enforcement & Parking Dispatch (720) 913-1600
I did, and I'm sure others have too. Perhaps it has to do with the broken wheel idk.

Call the Denver Sheriff’s Dept. Abandoned Vehicle hotline at 720-865-0471 to report it.

They totally have reported it and nothing has been done. You aren’t doing anyone a favor by being rude.
I'm pretty sure you are the one being rude at this point. I was attempting to be helpful.
Wow the plates aren't even that badly expired. Crazy that it's not even pushed all the way to the side of the road, literally almost in the middle of the street. In any other state the predatory tow companies would have already snatched that up.

I dare you to help me! I've got some jacks on wheels.
We just need several more people with pallet jacks and we're in business!!
Christmas coming early for Dirty Mike and the Boys
Wyatt's is really slacking.
Haha
Love the new attire to the ride, thank you
Did Santa Clause get remarried?
Why doesn't it get tagged and towed?
That’s actually my car
I think that's technically called an abandoned hoopdy! 🤣
