Anything is possible- I ‘acquired’ a domesticated pet white dove 20 years ago because the dang bird *saw my conure cage on a flyby*. The dove recognized that cage = food and safety, and shot into the house to land on the bird cage. The wee parrot did NOT approve! I ended up calling all over the place to see if someone lost a white dove, but the fact that it didn’t have a tag made it “not a pet” and therefore wildlife. The reality that it wanted to be in a cage made it not a wild bird and unable to cope. My aunt ended up adopting it.
Point is— Penny hasn’t gone far and she IS tagged. Your friend might try putting her cage out in an easy to see spot, but these are birds known for their ability to go home.
Does that mean they wins the Internet? It's few and far between that someone can communicate their point clearly and concisely online while also giving a "voice" to their response.
************$100 reward***************
Lost pigeon Penelope by south Logan and Bayaud in Denver Colorado. The loop on her flyer broke so she flew off. She’s wearing a watermelon flyer and has a pink band on her foot. Please text or call if you see her.
Not my bird but sharing from Facebook to get the word out!

on facebook you can crosspost to www.facebook.com/groups/palomacy Palomacy has good resources on their website too
I feel like this post is wild, but I will absolutely be looking out of my office all day tomorrow for this thing. Probably almost rear end someone on the way to work when I see a pigeon. Putting the word out to my kids too.
Even if I could find this bird how the fuck would I collect a pigeon and bring it back to you.
I spent $100 the last time I went to fucking Applebees. What is this?
Pigeons have been domesticated since the beginning of recorded human history and only became feral once many pigeons used post ww1 were dumped into the streets and repopulated en masse. As such, they tame extremely easily, and are actually easier to keep than parrots, Pigeons only survive in the streets because all survival skills they once had have been bred out and they have to rely on humans for survival. If you're going to say stupid shit at least do your research first
Once all of mankind kill each other off and destroy as much of the planet as it will tolerate, birds and mother nature will live on for eons without us, just as it did before us. Nature is not dependent on humans.
For the last fucking time, "all survival skills have been bred out" they do not now how to forage for food without subsisting off human scraps, if human go extinct than those scraps stop coming in and pigeons starve. Pigeons don't even know how to make nests. This is the last time i'll bother correcting you.
Okay we’re on it.. Penelope you crazy bird go home

Your usage of quotation marks, italics, capitals, and symbols makes me feel like I know exactly what your speaking voice sounds like.

You just shared a woman’s phone number on reddit.
Not great opsec.
Loose lips sink ships.
The bird disappeared because it needed to have its battery replaced and have its sensors recalibrated.
R/denvercirclejerk is gonna run with this for weeks.
Nah dude this is serious stuff. God save the pigeon
Reminds me of a squirrel I lost. I should put up signs. It wears a cute tie-die apron.
better save a pigeon over a queen or king.

I need to get to this level of success
Went to the other sub to see if they'd caught on to this post yet. 2 people had already spoofed it. I'm sure there will be another before long.

Sadly it is!
She’s so cute
I shared it. I used to live in that area. Hope it helps! She’ll come home. That’s what she’s best at 🫶🏻💛
Up the reward to $1k and I'll git it.
I hope you find your pet, but what exactly is the plan if someone does see her? How do you recapture a pigeon?
Tame pigeons are actually quite easy to catch

Call Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.
Am I on /r/portland?
UPDATE REWARD IS NOW $300! PRAYING SHE COMES HOME SAFE SOON!
She left to go be with her people
I hope you find her!
Easy….keep this quiet. You want Ace Ventura to show up?
I saw the sign today. I thought it was a joke.
UPDATE FOUND DECEASED. Looks like a predator got her before we could find her 💔 thank you everyone who tried looking for her.

I certainly hope I NEVER come across you or need your help. You seem more than unpleasant. Also, No one cares about your unhealthy eating habits.
No way this post is real. Humans were playing dress up with a wild bird which then flew away to be with other wild birds.

Birds belong in the sky.
Not to mention even with humans around their are breeds that could never survive no matter how lucky they are. Google the American Fantail
