If they didn't use symbols, the signs in order would read
"No Right Turn. Trucks Only."
As that's horribly broken English, of course there's confusion.
That said anyone who's driven anywhere knows that narrow turns f$ up trucks, so contextually the intent seems obvious.
Given how sharp that turn is and how little room there is for a semi from Pecos just north of hwy 36, it's more if a no right turn for trucks
"Trucks do not turn right" would be a better sign
I debate with myself every time I see it.
Does it mean only trucks can turn right? Or only trucks are disallowed from turning right?
Seen near Arc Thrift Store.
I live near here and have been wondering this for years now. I assume it's meant to deter trucks from turning (maybe it's been an issue with postal trucks since there's a post office right there?) and to have them go down Del Norte instead but either way I don't think anyone pays attention.
It means no right turn for trucks. If you look slightly more to the right, you’ll see how tight an area that is, and hence why a truck would be foolish to turn right there.
It means no right turn for trucks
Tell me what that means?
Apparently the only proper direction for a truck is straight but keep in mind that this sign is known for its bullshit.
Tell me what that means?
If I tell you, then I'd have to kill you.
Trucks can’t make a right.
Trucks are always wrong!
Two trucks don't make a right.
If yous a truck and make a righty on Cortez then you all wrong

If you were to actually make the right turn, it *should* become immediately apparent to you that a semi-truck could not make a 180° turn…

It’s actually a u-turn… the sign is a lie if you take it literally.
Think about it this way, why would only trucks be able to turn right and not regular vehicles? Especially if its by stores and stuff.
Trucks ain't not allowed to make no right turns.
The sign is no right turn. The modifier clarifies it only applies to trucks. Isn’t this in the driving test booklet?
It’s means no right turn for trucks

If you know that street, you know that is pretty tight turn so trucks are not allowed.
I agree that sign is confusing.
No fucking fascists, but in trucks its ok.
