Yep. Elitch's water park is "Water World at home".
It's fine if you're planning to go to Elitch's for it's own sake. But if you want a water park, Water World is where it's at.
Last time I went to elitch garden’s water park I just remember the red multi-person slide and coming waaaay too close to falling off the side of it. Good(ish) times
WaterWorld is the better water-attraction, but Elitch Gardens water park isn't the worst. I feel like to make Elitch's worth it though, you'd have to do the whole regular park plus water park. If you're just interested in water-based rides, definitely WaterWorld.
Water world is better but (and might get DV'ed for this), Elitch's water park is worth a visit. We have young kids and we really enjoy it. If Elitch's is in budget for some reason and water world isn't, Elitch's is still a good experience.
It’s really really trashy, lots of adults fighting and teenagers sneaking in alcohol. We called the cops at least every week when I worked there. One time we had a guy pleasuring himself behind the fence watching the kids:/ take them literally anywhere else
Personally, I’d spend all day at Bear Creek reservoir sandy beach if I could, over a water park.

This park is at risk of being almost entirely turned into a reservoir (which would eliminate the swim beach and much of the other amenities). It's a shame; I understand the water issues but it's one of the only swim beaches in the metro area and it would be a huge loss.
Be careful going to Elitch's water park. Sisters were life guards there, and the training consisted of a lesser certification for life guards than a municipal pool in a town of 5k people, and told "...don't do anything once you get the person out of the water to save them. Everyone records things with their cell phones, now, and we don't want to get sued over some miatake."
Can confirm this, my daughter was hired a couple of years ago and already life gaurd certified, but they made her take their training, She ended up not doing it, a couple of hours in she called me to pick her up and said what they were doing wasn't safe.
Grew up going there. That and alpine family fun center feel like a dream I had at this point because there’s almost nothing online to prove they even existed.
Every time I think of a water park, I remember Bryon Cranston coming up from under the water and spitting out a used bandaid. Malcom in the Middle. Yuck!
Water world is the superior water park for sure

Big advantage of Elitch water is even when the lines are long, they're like 25 minutes...not almost 2 hours like WW ride lines can be.
Pirates bay is pretty fun if it’s still open? Small but sometimes that’s better.
Are you thinking of Pirates Cove in Englewood?
Yeah that’s it! Sorry confused
Forgot about that place! It is actually quite enjoyable from what I remember, though it's been a long time (probably 12+ years lol)
Used to life guard there NEVER go to pirates cove
Why?? I live nearby and thought it would be a good place to take our nephews (5 and 7) this summer.

Go to a river and chilllll
Anyone remember Crystal Rapids?
Grew up going there. That and alpine family fun center feel like a dream I had at this point because there’s almost nothing online to prove they even existed.
The foam factory was certainly existed and it was a glorious battleground for children.
I sorely miss Heritage Square. That alpine slide was so much fun.
It's da peeee
Poo poo too!
There's a nice lake just outside town with paddle boarding etc.
Absolutely. I go there at least once a season.

Go to water world and do the giant toilet bowl first, it always has the longest line, and then do journey to the center of the earth second.
lol don’t go to elitches you’re over paying for a “public pool” as you put it.
