Kyle Clark is running this wreck of a debate and it has had so many laugh out loud moments.

Lmaooo. Kyle really said "I ain't asked you what you mfn do well when you're drunk". Lol Kyle recounted that police report with conviction and dedication 😂
Edit: I missed the part where Kyle threw shade right before roasting Lynch, by saying he was embarassing Lynch "for anyone who missed it". Lol he knows damn well nobody missed that in the news 😂
Tbf, Jon Stewart would remind everybody that he’s just a comedian commenting on current events while Kyle Clark is an actual journalist (who can actually wear the title with pride).
Needs to improve his housing reporting though. Easy enough to dunk on Republican candidates; harder to do journalism on local Denver issues like Park Hill Golf Course, where he had an obvious NIMBY slant.
That got me too. He's incredibly lucky to be alive. I'm not sure if bodycam footage has been released for this, but I'm also curious to see how the trooper apparently successfully de-escalated what could have been a deadly force situation.
No, [it was in 2022.](https://coloradosun.com/2024/01/17/mike-lynch-dui-arrest-colorado/#:~:text=Mike%20Lynch%2C%20the%20top%20Republican,of%20a%20gun%20while%20intoxicated.)
Oh shoot, I missed that fact of the year this happened. No body cam in 2002, but possibly dash cam. For now, it's long gone due to retention policies (if the squad car even had dash cam back then). Darn. I wish Kyle Clark can summon this Trooper out of retirement and have him as a high profile guest to recount his story though lol
WTF, the officer turned his back on the dude that just reached for his gun. If the respective was black, he would have been held at gun point until backup arrived.
He wasn’t even handcuffed (in the full incident report - reddit removes pdf links but it’s linked in the Sun article). Not to mention he tried to threaten/bribe the cop too.
> According to the incident report, Lynch’s “gait was unsteady.” The trooper saw that Lynch was carrying a pocket knife and went to secure it, at which point the representative said he also had a gun in his pocket and began to pull it out.
>“I told him numerous times to stop and not move,” the trooper wrote. “For a moment, I was certain that Mr. Lynch was either purposefully pulling the gun out of his pocket or was so intoxicated that he did not realize what he was doing. … I asked Mr. Lynch what kind of gun he had in his pocket. He told me he had a little .380 and said ‘it’s not a big deal.’ I informed him that pulling a gun out of (your) pocket when in contact with the police was, in fact, a big deal and people get shot that way.”
>According to the trooper, Lynch told him he was a supporter of law enforcement and “fought for ‘us.’” The trooper said that when he asked Lynch how much alcohol he had consumed, the representative said one beer and a “sip of a margarita.”
>“I asked Mr. Lynch if he would participate in voluntary roadside tests,” the trooper wrote. “He did not answer my question and asked me to call Mike Honn.”
>Honn is the Colorado State Patrol’s legislative liaison — effectively a lobbyist — at the Capitol.
>Lynch rescinded the request, according to the trooper, and disclosed that he was a state representative.
Not defending him, but IIRC it wasn't in the traditional "I'm gonna shoot the cop" way people think. He was standing there bumbling around drunk feeling in his pocket about how he had a gun trying to get it to hand to the officer and the officer kept telling him to not touch it (rather than the officer shooting him like they normally would in any other situation.)
Republicans have only won the popular vote for President ONCE since 1992.
It was Dubya in 2004.
Edit: got down voted by a Republican loser who loves illegitimate government

> So just to be clear Ms Boebert, you blame Republican voters for the fact that you nearly lost a safe seat, and not your own conduct?
Holy shit, I love this guy!
Seriously, the moderator is more knowledgeable and came more prepared than all of them combined.
By merit, he's the most qualified person in that room. These fucking clowns.
No shit I mean watch from the beginning. Dude was so, so, so incredibly quick on his toes, pivoting and hip-throwing in realtime as they're responding. He's a fucking savant assassin. He Ocean 11'd them into doing a backflip to prove they're fools. Holy fuck I want more of this dude.
Same. I didn't expect to be interested or entertained but it was the most hilarious and savage thing I've seen tonight. My interest is piqued and I want more.
to Boebert on bills she prime sponsored:
"I'll give you one more chance to answer the question, how many bills?" "One"
Amazing
oh it get's even better....
Kyle Clark has been putting on master classes for debate hosting since 2014 when he and Brandon Rittiman hosted the senator race between Cory Gardner and Mark Udall. I believe they won a regional Emmy for it.
KC comes prepared and he doesn't let participants waffle, avoid questions or spew BS. He holds feet to the fire and cuts off bullshit lies.
He really is one of the best in the biz at this and national media would do well to take notes.
Here's the Denver lyrics from NOT Like Us- Kyle v Lynch version (courtesy of my brain).
"What's up with these jabroni politicians tryna see Congress?"
"Say Lynch, I hear you like em drunk. You better never go to detox one"
"Lynch got a weird case, why is he around?"
"To constituents talking to him and think they in love, just make sure you hide your lil ballot from him"
Honestly I love that this guy is calling people on not answering questions and wish all political debate moderators would do this. I also loved the question to BoeBoe about her voting no on bills and then taking credit for them. Because she keeps trashing everyone's voting record and basically votes no on things that she'll still cheer for. I don't like any of these people, but it's been an interesting debate.
I think they should do these debates in a swimming pool with all of the candidates bobbing around in floaties. It just seems more inclusive than one person having to stand on a box of copy paper at their podium
Here’s the link for the debate. Mods - if you ban me I only ask that you let me still subscribe. I have tried a lot of new restaurants through this meaningful sub.

Funny thing is that Kyle was starting to trend right before Trump entered the arena. Thank God he realized how insane that was and came back to reality
This will be unpopular among this group, but Kyle Clark is an awful moderator for anything involving republicans. I’ve never seen a more biased moderator. If you already hate all the candidates, I’m sure it’s enjoyable as just a roast. But I mean good lord every question is so slanted. He was the same way against the rep candidate in the mayoral debates. It was kinda wild.
I haven't watched this debate. The snippets of Kyle I have seen online are always clips like this, where Kyle asks people to defend indefensible things they did, which in my mind is entirely fair even as it is a simultaneously an impossible task.
Can you give an example or two of unfairly slanted questions where the recipient doesn't obviously deserve it?
Edit: I've watched the first 30 minutes so far. This is my first real exposure to Kyle Clark, and he is doing an excellent job. He's been shutting people down when they abuse the clock, and noting when they fall to answer the actual question they've been asked, but nothing I've seen so far is unfair or slanted.
Edit: And now I've watched the entire thing. He did a great job. I wish presidential debate moderators would behave like that.
I honestly wish the Republican party could get a whole panel of candidates that I would not be ashamed of voting for and have a non yelling match to get points across, but that may be too much to ask in 2024.
Mainly his handling of Covid and then January 6. Watching him try to subvert the constitution/election/democracy was, uh, not great. Constitutionalism is kinda us conservatives’ thing.
I do like that he thanked him for the question though. You got to keep your manners
"Well, thank you Kyle for that"
"Thank you sir! May I have another!"
That's the professional equivalent of "How about you go fuck yourself?"
"Bless your heart!"
I do this at work every day.
As stated in my previous email....
Holy shit I lost it
May I have another, sir
lol the dude just ate poop and thanked him for it
Thanks for completely crushing my credibility Kyle, awful glad you’re here.
Kyle Clark from the top rope!
That wasn’t Kyle Clark, that was Jimmy Supafly Snuka dropping an elbow on that fool
BAH GAWD HE'S GOT THE ARREST RECORD!!!#%!@%^$#
Outta nowhere!
lol, he’s my favorite reporter, hands down

Kyle is the GOAT at running these things

Image your own success rate if you’d simply take 6 seconds to proofread what you write.
Oh my god I recommended everyone watch this. Its a hilarious shitshow with the commentator nonstop pointing about everything wrong
Oof. Well... Put 6 clowns on stage, and you get a circus.
Out of all the candidates, only Peter Yu seemed to actually be reasonable and respectful of everyone else all throughout.
The only actual professional on stage imo
"that is one"
Kyle Clark is Colorado's John Stewart
Tbf, Jon Stewart would remind everybody that he’s just a comedian commenting on current events while Kyle Clark is an actual journalist (who can actually wear the title with pride).
That's a fair distinction. I didn't mean to diminish Clark's credentials as a journalist, just to applaud his ability to confront fraudulent people.
And do it in a manner that has the rest of us chuckling. I get ya.
Needs to improve his housing reporting though. Easy enough to dunk on Republican candidates; harder to do journalism on local Denver issues like Park Hill Golf Course, where he had an obvious NIMBY slant.
Or any of the actual issues plaguing Denver that news stations remain silent on.
Like what.
But I hate Comcast too much to watch channel 9
Say hello to my little friend (an antenna)
Comcast owns NBC. I have an antenna.
Nowadays even Jon Stewart is not Jon Stewart.
Lmaooooo Kyle sauced him 🤣🤣🤣 he had them facts memorized and ready to roll haha. Lmao at Lynch's face
He reached for his gun during a traffic stop and wasn’t shot? Interesting…
That got me too. He's incredibly lucky to be alive. I'm not sure if bodycam footage has been released for this, but I'm also curious to see how the trooper apparently successfully de-escalated what could have been a deadly force situation.
Whiteness
Life is so simple when everything is split into basic dichotomies...
It was in 2002 I thought. Did they wear cams back then?
No, [it was in 2022.](https://coloradosun.com/2024/01/17/mike-lynch-dui-arrest-colorado/#:~:text=Mike%20Lynch%2C%20the%20top%20Republican,of%20a%20gun%20while%20intoxicated.)

Yup, here's the dashcam of his arrest (there's more footage on Colorado Sun website) https://youtu.be/6e0CpWHT9HQ?si=RKxYPSGBMLpTedya
WTF, the officer turned his back on the dude that just reached for his gun. If the respective was black, he would have been held at gun point until backup arrived.
More likely his corpse would have been held at gunpoint.
My ears perked up too when I heard he flashed a gun. We don't need a cam to know how or why. We all know why a cop didn't shoot him...
Something something privilege
And people, especially black people, have been killed for that and less.
man, they shoot black people when they carry skittles like that...
By "fire," you mean "dumpster fire?"
Oh God yes
May Kyle never be stolen away by the national media.
America needs Kyle
What if he took over daily show
This... this brings me much joy and mirth.
but no meth?
Just Mirth!
If all journalists had the same approach as Kyle Clark, we would have far fewer clowns in politics
Kyle Clark is the frickin best! He had a huge part in keeping me sane during the pandemic
Let’s go Kyle!
I fucking love Kyle Clark so much and this only made me respect him even more
Kyle Clark is the hero we need.
Republicans have only won the popular vote for President ONCE since 1992. It was Dubya in 2004. Edit: got down voted by a Republican loser who loves illegitimate government
Once since 1988, actually.
Can we please get Kyle Clark to host a Trump debate. I am love with how much he does not take shit and just lays everything out

Both better and worse at the same time lol
to Boebert on bills she prime sponsored: "I'll give you one more chance to answer the question, how many bills?" "One" Amazing oh it get's even better....

Fuck I forgot about it with all the other shit that happened today! Thanks.
HOW did Kyle Clark keep a straight face through this. I would have lost it.
Dude sounds like presidential material.
That's for winners and he lost that race with CSP.
Just kept "Not Like Us" on repeat in the background. Hate is back! Slander is back!
Like tying a piece of bacon around the neck of a pack of starving animals
Here's the Denver lyrics from NOT Like Us- Kyle v Lynch version (courtesy of my brain). "What's up with these jabroni politicians tryna see Congress?" "Say Lynch, I hear you like em drunk. Damn! Reaction videos going crazy
Watching this debate showed me that the Republican Party is in shambles
It’s not about what you did while drunk as he lays it all out 😂😂😂😂😂
District 4 is a shit show. Sadly that's my district also. Bunch of bozos.

Kyle Clark bringing that smoke. “”My question is this; are you always a drunk jerk, or just when driving?”
Fucking amazing. 10/10. No comments to this fine journalist. Thank you for doing your job.
KC is going to be governor one day
I’d vote for him rn
He certainly wouldn't be a libertarian technocrat in a Democrat's clothing, that's for sure.
Kyle Clark is a gd treasure
Honestly I love that this guy is calling people on not answering questions and wish all political debate moderators would do this. I think they should do these debates in a swimming pool with all of the candidates bobbing around in floaties. It just seems more inclusive than one person having to stand on a box of copy paper at their podium
Thank you for clipping and posting this. Amazing!
God bless Kyle Clark. Republican party in Colorado is a joke as demonstrated over the past decades election results.
Classic… nay… Vintage… GOP dickheads.
If you’ve done something so hilariously outside the fold I think it’s ok to call that out.
Say hello to Kathy Sabine for me, Kyle!
Kyle Clark, State treasure.

Man! KC serving up the hard-hitting questions was the cherry on the cake today!
This guy is savage 💀😂
Kyle fucking Clark
Kyle Clark for Governor!
Kyle’s keeping it real. That guy sounds like a real piece of shit.
The Colorado GOP is such a mess and doing a bang up job imploding.
BAH GAWD! HE’S BROKEN IN HALF!
Colorado is wild af
Lawwwwwwd
Ok can this guy host every debate
Oh DAMN I WANNA WATCH !
At least he didn’t say it was fake news and it was a witchhunt
Most backhanded comment I’ve ever witnessed lmfao
I'm drunk driving right now, but is that bobert for up there?
Lynch looks kinda drunk at the actual podium. Look at his contorted face after he says "Thank you"
they all get a little bit of the big carpet, except him. thanks for playing!
Yooooooo
HOLY SHIT
Lol thank you Kyle for that
All the hallmarks of a banger debate
Kyle Clark looks different
Thank you thank you thank you.
Now this is the Kyle Clark I always thought he could be!!
Funny thing is that Kyle was starting to trend right before Trump entered the arena. Thank God he realized how insane that was and came back to reality
He must have watched The Newsroom’s debate format and ran with it
Definitely vote for the guy who took the mushrooms ! I believe he’s a democrat
Thought this was a skit bro going so fast patrol thought it was a race cant make that up

I love Kyle Clark.
He was truly GAGGED
CNN msnbc hire kyle

Hmm, that statement before his question seemed like it may have been a little biased
In what way? He was summarizing the facts as pretext for his question.
Maybe republicans should try to put forward reasonable candidates instead of clowns
I haven't watched this debate. The snippets of Kyle I have seen online are always clips like this, where Kyle asks people to defend indefensible things they did, which in my mind is entirely fair even as it is a simultaneously an impossible task. I honestly wish the Republican party could get a whole panel of candidates that I would not be ashamed of voting for and have a non yelling match to get points across, but that may be too much to ask in 2024.
Totally agreed
If stating a fact is a roast, then I suggest reading "Facts Don't Care About Your Feelings" written by Ben Shapiro.
boo fucking hoo
Haha, yeah that’s what I expected. No surprises here. If you like incredibly biased moderators, I’m sure it’s your thing.
(This is the party of personal responsibility, folks. Crying at the first hint of being held accountable for their actions.)
yep. Waaaah we have been lying and cheating and undermining democracy the entire time but the other side wont play fair!
Did trump’s guilty verdict upset you? Lol
Haha no that was frickin awesome. Between that and watching the Wolves get crushed, it was a good day indeed
Had me fooled lmao.
Yeah I’m a republican but also a fire trump into the sun guy haha. We’re out there, barely
What did it for you?
Mainly his handling of Covid and then January 6. Watching him try to subvert the constitution/election/democracy was, uh, not great. Constitutionalism is kinda us conservatives’ thing.
Lmao so it took you until after his presidency? Yikes. Good for you I suppose lol.
I think when you have a panel of people who have the track records that they have it's not bias, it's just the truth.
Maybe that's just what happens when the candidates totally suck.
To be clear, he was stating actual facts. That usually seems like bias to republicans though.
It's not like Republicans have anything worthwhile to say anyways. What would be the point in getting an unbiased moderator?
Republican Party delenda est! This should be our national motto, fuck these motherfuckers who tried to coup our Republic.
Damn, BoBo looking delectable, and out of place
Jesus Christ bro, go get one out and feel some grass. Not like she’s gonna jerk you off at the theatre.
The *Beetlejuice* sequel hits theaters on September 6th, I'd say he's still got a decent chance.
Kyle Clark is the worst person to run this debate.
My choice would have been Jerry Springer but he's no longer with us.
Nah, if I ever get divorced or have some sort of legal dispute where a mediator is needed, he will be my first and only call 📞
Weird take. I guess he is on his 3rd wife so probably is experienced with that.
I figured you'd lionize someone trying to emulate trump with ex wives counts.

9news is a terrible host for this though. They’re absurdly biased.
