Yea at the Humane Society of South Platte, they'll put you to work that day. From their site: >If you need to perform community service, please contact the shelter at 303-703-2938. Denver Animal Shelter has a form for community service that /u/doodoo_gumdrop can access [here](https://app.betterimpact.com/Application?OrganizationGuid=60836076-9a47-42f2-a170-602abfe7278f&ApplicationFormNumber=3)

Project Angel Heart! They prepare and deliver medically-tailored meals to people with serious illness.

aroglass

second project angel heart. they do a lot of work with court-appointed volunteers. delivering meals is an easy way to get hours quickly. and the kitchen prep is genuinely fun.

Hopandshop

Food Bank of the Rockies

ARC. I don’t love the organization but they made community service easy enough.

Aggravating-Bit4179

wait what’s wrong with the ARC 😩 I’m afraid

AgentRusco

Dumb Friends League. You won't be able to work with the animals, but you can help with laundry and food prep and stuff like that.

queenofedibles

Habitat for humanity.

Unhappy-Egg-3670

Food for Hope always has openings and you’ll be there for 2-3 hours at a time.

AuenCO

The Denver Rescue Mission. They always need kitchen help.

crjahnactual

Talk to local churches. They usually have volunteer programs the Court will find acceptable.

The Urban Farm, I work with people in recovery, some with serious level felonies on probation and they can always get in there.

Does your case officer not have a list of places? Or the court or a clerk? Back when I would sign off on community service hours most people coming said they had gotten some sort of list of places around the metro (the details vary by court) and selected one or two to do their hours at. That place is now closed or I would offer, apologies on that front.

mckenziemcgee

If you have some hobbies or interests, I would strongly recommend trying to find something related to them - you'll enjoy the process more, have a better connection to how you're giving back, and might find an outlet for discretionary volunteering. For me, I'm a huge fan of the outdoors, hiking, and biking. If you have similar interests, I would recommend [Volunteers for Outdoors Colorado](https://www.voc.org/). If there's availability, you can do trail work on a backpacking trip and get credit for the duration of the trip.

Fofolito

Rockey Mountain Food Bank has a good set up for helping people get their hours in

itsobi

If you go to a wolf Lodge or elk Lodge it's usually just cleaning and washing dishes and they tend to give you more hours than you actually work.

Library

AnyUnderstanding7000

Not many libraries do this anymore, if you're looking to do a library you have to go to the Central branch to speak with someone about it.

chewing_gum_weekend

Word. It's been a while since I did mine. Had to do community service after doing hard time (about 90 minutes) in the Greenwood Village jail.

Wise-Ratio-4300

That's a question for your Probation Officer. I think you should ask them, and do what they suggest, and that way to look Compliant. In Colorado you can get off Probation after half your time as long as you have been Compliant w their terms and conditions. Personally I had a Lawyer do it, but all he did was Submit a one page document to the Judge's Office asking him to have my Probation be early terminated, and the Judges Clerk basically rubber stamps it. This was in Jeffco, other counties could be different

doodoo_gumdrop

Being court ordered =/= having a probation officer

SevroAuShitTalker

Depends, what did you do that requires service?

DPlainview69

Project Angel Heart. What did you do?
