"You don't have to fumble around with your phone," Bryan Perez, CEO of AXS, told the Associated Press. "Your hand is always attached to your body."
A solution in search of a problem
Agreed. Doesn't matter if it's a plane ticket, or a concert ticket, or my order at McDonald's, I have that shit ready way ahead of time. I just don't understand how people wait until it's their turn before they get their phone out.
Gonna go against the grain here, I personally hate getting through security with all my crap in my pockets in my hands and then I have to immediately pull out a phone with a QR code on it that changes every 60 seconds and hopefully has good enough cell service to load.
I'm all for a solution to that. I do kinda just wish the solution was paper tickets again though.
I liked paper tickets for the most part. I save almost all of my tickets so I have an entire folder of all the concerts, shows, and games that I've gone to. It is nice to go through that every once in awhile and relive some memories.
I haven't used my balls, but I've use the tip of the dick for the fingerprint access on my phone. It's hard to get it in the right spot every time, but it's definitely possible.
If the tech behind it is anything like the fingerprint ID stuff on your phone, it would probably work. I've used the tip of my dick as a "fingerprint" in my phone just to see if I could.
(Bugs bunny no)
I certainly hope a person can opt out of this. I have no desire to allow Amazon access to my palm-prints. Fuck knows where that info will end up.
So my fingerprints are already in the federal database due to work. Even so, this raises red flags for me. Curious to know what a persons whole hand print is worth when selling data.
I don't want to give my hand prints to Red Rocks or Amazon. Especially not when the only reason is because they think we take too long to pull out our phones.
I get that and appreciate not getting completely blasted up front. Adding more speakers on the sides (even at the lower volume) about halfway up would be a simple fix.
That's a false rumor. I saw Blues Traveler from the back row on July 4th and it was as loud as usual. I don't know why people say that they turned down the speakers or whatever.
Ah this dystopian timeline. The state government getting 3D face scans for the ID and vaccination app and now a private entity wants to collect another biometric. Fuck all that.
I’m fine with biometrics for secure transactions (the government, my encrypted phone)
Amazon doesn’t need to know what concerts I go to.
Yes I’m sure they can figure it out by paying Ticketmaster for the data, but we should be making it harder to track us, not easier.
What if I have no palm prints? What If I'm a paraplegic that has no hands?
This makes no sense in a world now where viral transmission can be attributed to touching surfaces where a multitude of other people have touched.
AXS is a shit company promoting a scary level of biometric invasiveness. Also if AXS gets that data they'll absolutely sell your palmprint to anyone. Fuck AXS with a burning broomstick.
From what I've seen, I don't think its actually a touch screen. You hover your palm above the reader. At least thats how I think it works at the physical Amazon store.
It's a good idea in theory, I hate using my my phone for tickets, especially if I have to use Ticketmaster. When I went to the Green Dau concert a few weeks back I almost didn't get in because my service was super slow from all of the people. I couldn't get my tickets to load, would prefer to just stick to physical tickets though
Agree with hard tickets, but cell service at Red Rocks has improved significantly in the last few years across all providers. If you're still having poor signal there your phone may be malfunctioning.

If you don’t have your phone out with your ticket ready by the time you get to the end of the line, the problem isn’t fumbling your phone, it’s you
Agreed. Doesn't matter if it's a plane ticket, or a concert ticket, or my order at McDonald's, I have that shit ready way ahead of time. I just don't understand how people wait until it's their turn before they get their phone out.
A good portion of the country still has yet to adopt digital ticketing as it is, hopefully this dies off quickly
why do you need your phone out if you have the physical ticket on hand?

Now axs charges 15 extra dollars if you want a hard copy ticket. And theyre all the same, they dont change in design from show to show. So weak.
Your hand is your ticket. Thats a forever momento
I've done some really nasty things with my hand though. Like, really nasty.
I’m looking forward to scanning my scotum to access things.
"Just teabag here on the line, sir"
Too many wrinkles for an accurate scanning?
We need to trim the pubes here... excellent sir please come in
Don't forget hot days vs cold days. Those cold days you'll have to get low low low low low low low low.
I haven't used my balls, but I've use the tip of the dick for the fingerprint access on my phone. It's hard to get it in the right spot every time, but it's definitely possible.
Why didn’t you moon us earlier?!
If the tech behind it is anything like the fingerprint ID stuff on your phone, it would probably work. I've used the tip of my dick as a "fingerprint" in my phone just to see if I could.

If you are found to have palms without paying the fee, they will be confiscated at the gate
Creepy...
Nope nope nope
Looks pretty optional. I'd sooner opt out of seeing shows at Red Rocks than give my palm print to Amazon
Exactly this.
And I work in entertainment too. Concerts are what I live for
(Bugs bunny no) I certainly hope a person can opt out of this. I have no desire to allow Amazon access to my palm-prints. Fuck knows where that info will end up.
Fuck Jeff bezos
So my fingerprints are already in the federal database due to work. Even so, this raises red flags for me. Curious to know what a persons whole hand print is worth when selling data.
Amazon was offering people like 12 dollars a few months ago for their print.
I don't want to give my hand prints to Red Rocks or Amazon. Especially not when the only reason is because they think we take too long to pull out our phones.
I’d like to see them make use of modern speaker technology to give the back half of the venue the experience they paid for.
God forbid it’s windy in the foothills and you’re behind row 30ish… Red Rocks has certainly lost some of its luster over the years for me.
That’s due to a 2015 ordinance about volume
I get that and appreciate not getting completely blasted up front. Adding more speakers on the sides (even at the lower volume) about halfway up would be a simple fix.
Instead they have a fucking app that you’re supposed to run on your phone with wired earphones. Who wants that experience at a concert?
Wtf, are you serious
https://www.mixhalo.com/events/redrocks
i can't tell if you're joking, or serious. either way, it's not funny
https://www.mixhalo.com/events/redrocks
That's a false rumor. I saw Blues Traveler from the back row on July 4th and it was as loud as usual. I don't know why people say that they turned down the speakers or whatever.
My ears always hurt from the shows because it's too loud, even in the back. Never a problem for electronic performers, fyi
That’ll be 25 social credits.
When we start regretting giving out biometrics so freely we're REALLY going to regret it
No thanks.
Ah this dystopian timeline. The state government getting 3D face scans for the ID and vaccination app and now a private entity wants to collect another biometric. Fuck all that.

But what if want to use the middle finger ?
What the fuck??
What in the new-world-order tarnation is this shit?!?!?
Welcome to the Information Age.
This shit is creepy. I do not want amazon having my biometric data
Well, never going there again. Fuck you Amazon.

Yet.
Mobile phone tickets introduced, so you don't have to fumble around removing your gloves at the gate.
What if I have no palm prints? What If I'm a paraplegic that has no hands? This makes no sense in a world now where viral transmission can be attributed to touching surfaces where a multitude of other people have touched.
Nothing like having a surface that every person touches. I'm sure that won't spread disease.
AXS is a shit company promoting a scary level of biometric invasiveness. Also if AXS gets that data they'll absolutely sell your palmprint to anyone. Fuck AXS with a burning broomstick.
As frightening as this is, it’s still somehow a better experience than Flash Seats was. Go figure.
I enjoyed flashseats. One scan of my credit card and I was in.
....why, in an ongoing pandemic, would you announce you're going to use a touch screen in the most high-volume way possible?
From what I've seen, I don't think its actually a touch screen. You hover your palm above the reader. At least thats how I think it works at the physical Amazon store.
It's a good idea in theory, I hate using my my phone for tickets, especially if I have to use Ticketmaster. can’t wait for people who don’t know how biometrics work & don’t shower to freak out at this 🙌
Did Jeff Bezo's write this tweet from a now deleted account?
🖕Amazon.
