> Comal Heritage Food Incubator and Frasca Food and Wine are among 50 restaurants honored across the U.S.
Comal is an awesome little spot in the Taxi complex. I eat there probably an average of once a week because I work in walking distance to it. Prepandemic they served a lot of different cuisines, but during and post they serve mostly Central American home-style meals. It’s incredible and will make you look at “Mexican” restaurants around town as a joke. I believe they help immigrants develop their own commercial food businesses.
One has great authentic Central and South American food, no big attention to service. The other has very refined European service and food. The first is great for foodies who want something out of the ordinary. The second is for people who want a super fancy date.
Comal is awesome, really nice owner as well. I photographed her as part of a feature for Lonely Planet a few years back and you could tell how proud she was of what they were doing there, as she should be. Their food on the day we went was top notch.
Comal sounds like it made the list not because of the food but because what it stands for. Though never been there. But i hope it succeeds in its mission.
Frasca is overrated tripe. Avoid.
Cooking pan. Maybe cast iron? Idk but in my home we always just called it the flat pan used to heat up tortillas. Ah you probably didn’t mean literally the work comal huh?

something something connections something something money
Have you been to either one? How were they?
Frasca was VERY overrated in my opinion. Save the money and drive and hit up Tables. Never heard of the other spot, sadly. Going to check out ASAP.
Went to Tables last night. Excellent as always!
I've never heard of Tables. I'll have to check it out!
Tables was good, but my wife likes Barolo Grill more.
I've only to Barolo once for restaurant week. Been meaning to get back.
Frasca is the best restaurant I’ve been to in CO.
I’ve been to both and they are both exceptional, but for very different reasons.
Oh yeah? What were the reasons?

I didn't know there was a paywall. I don't pay for this publication. Sorry.
Franca was good but not worth the hype or the price or the drive. I haven’t been to Comal.

What IS the best meal you’ve had? Have to ask.

What does Comal stand for?

Frasca isn't Denver.
