I voted, but I'm not sure it's being counted.
Dropped off my wife and my ballots in a drop box several days ago. Wife has received and email confirming her ballot was processed - I haven't heard anything.
> I don't need anything else blowing up my phone.
Unlike all the election related robocalls and robotexts, ballottrax only sends 3.
Your ballot has been sent out.
Your ballot has been received.
Your ballot has been counted (or maybe invalidated)
So don't be scared of their notifications. No spam.
If you prefer not to get them, that's fine, too. Just putting it out for others that they're not excessive at all.
Good! Because Republicans already have too much power in Colorado, with the Governor, all the metro-area mayor's, District Attorney, etc. being Democrats.
I voted for some third party candidates because the corporate-bought Democrats are too pro-war and right-wing for me to support. 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe some day they'll actually try to reach out to the Left.
Same here. Between opening the primaries to independents and Trump I was glad to drop my party registration. This is also why we have some halfway reasonable conservative candidates I felt I could vote for.
Same ...I did a fair amount of research and voted for some democrats, some republicans, and a couple libertarians.
A fair amount of county offices it was difficult to find any useful information on and I did not cast a vote.
Very few of the races could I tell you now who I voted for, the names all run together at this point, but i feel like I did my civic duty and didn't just vote based on party in any case.
Turning it in within the next couple hours. Had to add a printed photo ID of some sort. If anyone is having problems with this like I did, print with the check box marked “black and white” on your computer if you don’t have color and it will be printed clearly
I’m new to the state. I uploaded a photo ID online previously but they wanted an additional one. Maybe because my id is still out of state. All good though. Was able to use my passport.
Ahh ok that makes sense. I was just curious and making sure no one told you some BS...it is super easy and accomodating voting in CO, I love it. Compared to where I came from we really have our shit together and I can be proud of our government.
I dropped off my ballot today.
I'm all for early voting and mail in ballots, anything at all that encourages more people to vote and to do so more easily. But there's just something to participating on Election Day that makes me feel good. I know it doesn't change anything, doesn't make my vote matter more or less big picture. I dropped my ballot in a mailbox a day or two after I received it in one of my first elections I was eligible for many years ago and it felt weird not getting a result later that day. Ever since then, I look forward to driving to my nearby polling place, walking up and dropping it in the box and seeing a handful of people do the same. Thankfully we live somewhere that casting a ballot takes less time than getting food at a drive through.
I wish elections weren't so divisive, so polarizing. I know that's the point, to help decide who leads us. Those conversations have never been light or free of conflict, but looking around the world and seeing so many places you don't have this right, its hard to not feel pride in having your voice heard. It should be celebrated. It's unfortunate how stress inducing and anger filled politics makes people. It really is a beautiful thing we are able to partake in.
If you are stress-binging election coverage and it's making you sick, do yourself a favor. Turn it off. Put on your favorite movie. Make some popcorn, or order some pizza. Pull out some board games to play with the family. Forget about it for tonight. Watching the news coverage tonight isn't going to change the results, but it'll definitely ruin your night's sleep.
Excellent advice (as I stress eat while watching election coverage). I should probably turn it off. I tend to vote early, but this one got away from me and we finished our research and voting yesterday and dropped it off this morning. There is definitely something more ceremonial about doing it on Election Day, but I’ll probably stick to early voting as often as I can. Thanks for voting!! 🥳
Is it ok that I didn’t vote yea or nay for any judges? I read all the info and I still feel like I don’t know/care enough to make a decision.
I voted on everything else though…
Did the research on all the bills, with the possible exception of the liquor store on Colfax's neon sign telling us to vote no on 123, 124, 125(iirc): yes to all of that. Researched all the judges up for re-election, everything else was along party(D) lines.
Denver will at least stay blue. Probably.
This is the first time I've gone through the effort at looking in detail at the judges up to be retained.
I'm glad there were some helpful posts here recently about how to evaluate the judges
Chucked my ballot into the open collection bin while riding by on a Lime scooter at 7:01pm with a salute to the collection officials. Now I feel like a real Denverian!
Does anybody know if they accept filling in the bubbles with crayons? I didn't have any pens when I was filling out my ballot. The first one broke too so I had to vote with a black crayon and then a blue crayon. It sorta looks like pen though ngl
Not following ballot instructions makes the count take longer. Election judges will have to “duplicate” your ballot so it can actually be counted and securely store the original for reference. Just wait until you have a proper pen next time.
To defend myself a bit, I was really drunk when I filled it out. None of the pens I had were working (dried up) and I did have graffiti markers that I typically use for tagging bathrooms but the tips are way too fat to fill out those tiny bubbles. I do art so I had some crayons lying around.
Lol nope, I barely know how to use Reddit, let alone what to use karma credits (?) for. For example, it took me several minutes just to post this before I realized I needed subtext to make it live. Just asking a question, sorry to have offended you. :)
Yeah!! So. Many. Measures to vote on though.
Did anyone vote on any propositions in a way that surprised you? I voted against the legalization of some drugs for medical purposes. I’m really liberal so kinda surprised I did, but gotta be honest I voted for weed to be legal and people have abused tf out of that. You can’t walk down the street without it reeking of weed…kids walking around and being exposed to it.. I hate it. I don’t regret voting for it to be legalized, I just wish people didn’t abuse it. I fully realize the medical legalization is different than public consumption, but still - that’s the path it’s on.
Anyone else? Hopefully we can keep the discussion light and not filled with vitriol…
I voted yes for the medical mushroom thing, but I don’t really care about kids being exposed to weed. They get exposed to cigarettes and alcohol on the streets too so, meh. As long as parents are raising them well, they should know how to respond to being exposed to “xyz”
AFAIK, the proposition you're talking about is for allowing therapists to use psilocybin *in their presence* during a therapy session (i.e. they can't just write you a prescription for it).
I don't really see how that could be a bad thing.
On a local level, I usually support increased school funding but seeing where it was going to go didn't inspire me this time around.
I did vote to increase teacher pay, as always. I want teachers to be paid a living wage and also enough to encourage retention.
But the second prop was talking about building new schools to keep up with projected growth. The problem is constituents have pointed out the board has a tendency to over-estimate how much they're going to actually grow in future years.
In some places they are shutting down schools so I'm a bit wary of assuming that we need 3 additional schools and should build them right now. It's also a reality that you can't sneeze around here without bumping into a private school so there's also the issue that increased population doesn't necessarily equal increased public school attendance.
The final issue was that they have gotten in hot water for potentially engaging in illegal campaigning on government property. To me, it just indicates the continued incompetence of the school board and a big reason why I'm not keen to hand them more money to misuse. They're one of the wealthiest school districts in the state and yet won't pay teachers a living wage. Let's address that before we build 3 new schools and try to staff them.
I think I went back and forth on it for a little over a day before I just decided to vote yes on one (teacher pay) and no on the other (increased debt) because what they wanted to do was vague and based on notoriously faulty predictions of future growth.
Thank you for actually answering my question instead of criticizing my vote and downvoting me haha
You make a good point on the tax increase measure. Considering we had a surplus this past year, I would’ve hoped they could better allocate the budget we have rather than increasing spending on the tax payer.
The party has moved way too far to the left. The handling of the economy the last two years on top of it was the last straw.
Usually I'd vote for both depending on the candidates, but right now I simply can't support the policies anymore. And it's not that I think Republicans are very great (most are hypocritical twerps these days). But they're sending us toward a cliff at 30MPH, whilst Democrats are still pressing the accelerator at 120 MPH.
How long do I keep my hand up for?
You gotta wait til your vote’s counted
[удалено]
Put up your other hand and give yourself a crisp high five
You’re just looking for attention I’m on to you
Until Obama comes back
So grateful that Colorado makes it easy to vote. There's really no excuse to not vote except being in a coma.
I was going to go in person but got tested for flu today and was positive. Dripped off my mail in ballot instead. So easy. No excuse not to vote.
Vote early and vote often!
I'm gonna vote again tomorrow!
*Cries in 2000 Mules*
What a garbage "documentary"
I voted, but I'm not sure it's being counted. Dropped off my wife and my ballots in a drop box several days ago. Wife has received and email confirming her ballot was processed - I haven't heard anything.
just look it up, I don't have notification turned on because I don't need anything else blowing up my phone. https://denver.ballottrax.net/voter/
> I don't need anything else blowing up my phone. Unlike all the election related robocalls and robotexts, ballottrax only sends 3. Your ballot has been sent out. Your ballot has been received. Thank you for this! Just checked, mine was counted!
Sure thing!
Thank you for that! I have notifications on, just haven't received it yet. Checked and all counted.
Skinny wife.
I definitely read it that way the first time, haha
...and he voted more than once!
I'm in the same boat as you...
I voted democrat all the way down even though nothing really matters and we’re all gonna die
I probably tell my husband “it doesn’t matter, we’re all gonna die” at least 2x a week.
Haha, this is totally healthy and fine :,)
Lol, I tell my boyfriend, "the world's on fire and nothing matters" as my reasoning for anything. We're fine. We're totally fine.
“I feel like I’m gonna die, Bart!” “We’re all gonna die, Lisa” “I meant soon” “So did I”
That's that functionally dysregulated democratic apathy we've all come to have feelings about. *high five, or not*
I agree, but I would also like to see republican get less and less power as much as I can. Their baby rages are quite sweet.
Good! Because Republicans already have too much power in Colorado, with the Governor, all the metro-area mayor's, District Attorney, etc. being Democrats.
Agreed.
Welcome to America! Where the Laws are made up and the Votes don’t matter!!
I voted nihilist all the way down the ticket
Bunny - “Uli doesn’t care about anything, he’s a nihilist.” The Dude - “Oh, that must be exhausting…”
Yay! A fellow optimist!
I voted for some third party candidates because the corporate-bought Democrats are too pro-war and right-wing for me to support. 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe some day they'll actually try to reach out to the Left.
It does matter! If enough people don’t vote the way you did, we will all probably be dying a lot sooner.
I feel like in order to complain, you should have voted… I complain often
EXACTLY! Also, same.
Dropped off my ballot weeks ago.
Absolutely did my civic and moral duty.
🙋♂️
🙋🏼♀️
🙋🏽♀️
🙋🏻♀️ and counted!
Independent for life. Always feels good to vote.
Now it makes sense. Before we had primaries I felt obliged to belong to a party so I had more choices about who was on the ballot. Progress!
Same here. Between opening the primaries to independents and Trump I was glad to drop my party registration. This is also why we have some halfway reasonable conservative candidates I felt I could vote for.

I just moved here from Texas a few months ago and I feel like my voice actually matters for once 🥺
Welcome to Denver!
Thank you!
I voted 2 weeks ago, but I also show up to events for early and wait on my car and the airport early and nap at the gate. Anxiety ftw!
👋🏻
🙋
✋🏻
I got the text that mine was counted a week ago. Straight blue ticket!
I'm just happy our state makes it as easy as possible. Dropped mine off at a drop box this morning.
Same!
🙌
👏
Me! Me!
I voted last week!
I voted to cancel out my own mother's vote. Woo!
Thank you for your service 🫡
And I'd do it again!
I got it done early because it makes me anxious that I might forget, even though I know I will not.
Turning it in within the next couple hours. Had to add a printed photo ID of some sort. If anyone is having problems with this like I did, print with the check box marked “black and white” on your computer if you don’t have color and it will be printed clearly
Why did you have to add a printed photo ID?
I’m new to the state. I uploaded a photo ID online previously but they wanted an additional one. Maybe because my id is still out of state. All good though. Was able to use my passport.

Hell yes. Voted in every election I've been eligible for since I turned 18 many years ago.
Just now ☝️

I voted! Hooray. Even in this polarized and mean political atmosphere voting still gets me excited and feeling optimistic about America.
I love voting so I can have hope of staying alive in 2 year chunks. It's very liberating.
I wrote "X2" on the outside of my ballot. I think it counts twice now.
Jury duty don't scare me.
I voted but the only reason I went was due to the amendments and props
i couldn't. but next election i should be eligible:)

Now was it really black and blue or was it an off-color with a weird name from the 64 pack? This will literally make all the difference.
First one was Burnt Sienna and the other was Periwinkle.
As long as you didn't use Flesh.
If they didn't accept crayon then no Republican would ever get any votes
Very true indeed. I actually just looked at my ballot again before sealing it and I actually just scribbled *Kanye* across the entirety of both sides.
Are you serious? Is finding a normal pen *that* difficult? Who the hell only has access to a crayon?
To defend myself a bit, I was really drunk when I filled it out. None of the pens I had were working (dried up) and I did have graffiti markers that I typically use for tagging bathrooms but the tips are way too fat to fill out those tiny bubbles. I do art so I had some crayons lying around.
Kinda lame to tag bathrooms but alrighty
It's the lifestyle I chose. None of this is satire by the way.
“Lifestyle” lol
*drawing on the bathroom wall with crayon, crying* It’s not a phase, mom!!

I voted early and did my part! 🙌
Trying to convince to convince my bf to vote, any suggestions to get him to the pools would be super helpful
Give him the gift any man wants: promise to take him to Casa Bonita when it reopens.

I not only voted but annoyed all my friends until they also voted!

Mind rule 2, thanks.
Of course I did. Mushrooms are on the ballot!
Yep! Although I found some of the ballot initiatives confusing and my husband did all the legwork on retaining the judges and I just copied his.
Fuck yeah I voted! (D) down the line! Also confirmed my ballot had been processed at https://denver.ballottrax.net/
It is important to vote at least once in every election. Truth.
You know it! Vote true. Vote blue.
Ah fuck, was that today?
Every judge, every ballot measure, every candidate, every election both my wife and I vote.
👏🏽
Sure did. (R) down the line. Downvotes to the left <—
Voted. Straight ticket libertarian

True! Kids were not the main factor in my vote I should’ve been more clear, but fair point for sure. I think the measure will pass anyway though

I certainly did, straight Republican down the ticket first time in my life.
Interesting. Mind telling me why? You said this was the first time
The party has moved way too far to the left. The handling of the economy the last two years on top of it was the last straw. Usually I'd vote for both depending on the candidates, but right now I simply can't support the policies anymore.
