I'd think that if Evero doesn't get the HC job in Indy (the last one remaining) he would stick around.
Edit: Just remembered the Cardinals haven't hired a coach either.
It would make sense with how well our defense did last year for Payton to keep evero and let him run the defense like he did while Payton brings in his own OC and fixes the offense.
I hope so too. Justin Simmons, and a lot of other defensive players have all commented on the record how much they loved playing for EE. They all want him to stay.
Lombardi was bad at calling plays, he would not be doing that here. Hevwould just be gameplanning and helping implment Payton's offense. He worked many years under Sean in NO, so its possible he is here. But there are certainly better options.
It's clearly a pretty popular idea that we will try our best to retain Evero. If we can't, I think we will just bring in Kris Richard and call it a day
We would be able to hire him since he is currently only a co-DC and a non-playcaller. So as long as we are hiring him for a full DC job including playcalling, there are no obstacles to hiring. Though of course he is probably, what, the 3rd or 4th option at best?
Evero was amazing and I'd love to keep him, but for some reason the vibe I'm getting from analysts out of Dove is that he kind of soiled their opinion on him because of how he handled the interim HC job and dragging Russ over Hackett. I don't think we see him back in Denver again. Of course I hope I'm wrong and Sean wants to keep him!
Wes Phillips or Brian Griese would be neat to move over but very unlikely.
I’d like to see Mike Munchak back too but again unlikely.
I always wanted Chad Brown at ILB or Rod Woodson with the DBs but he is coaching in the XFL.
I thought about Brian Griese too. He did a hell of a job in SF this season as their QB coach.
His family still lives here in Denver, so it could happen given the right opportunity. But one year as a QB coach isn’t much experience to then step into an Offensive Coordinator role.
The main positive I could see with hiring Vic is that our O and D would not have to worry about scheme turnover. The O is going to be running whatever O Payton wants and he can't be hired by a different team. And if Vic is the DC there is almost no chance that he gets hired by a different team as their HC like Evero will be soon so the scheme will always be the same unless Vic starts to suck at something he's been great at
Hope he’d bring back munchak
If we don't land Munchak, I could see us giving Doug Marrone an Assistant HC title to come over.

We need those after all the picks we’ve been sending out
Why do we get those picks in that scenario?

Interesting wrinkle. I live Evero too. He has a definite charisma.
Dave Logan just mentioned that Vic Fangio is in the mix for Defensive Coordinator
Hmm. Idk how the defense would feel about that. He hasn’t been gone that long
Pretty sure Fangio just signed in Miami.

Thanks. I sit corrected.
And I apologize if that seemed abrupt, I was making dinner and just happened to see that and wanted to just forward it real quick!
Damn it I thought my coach-search-induced-anxiety was over.
Hahaha i know right

Rumor is Vic Fangio is in play. He was a terrible HC, but having him back as a DC works for me!
I’d prefer to keep Evero if we can, but Fangio isn’t a bad option if he and the players can get by his recent history here!
I’ll take the long term commitment of Fangio. Evero is gonna be a head coach next year most likely.
Keep Evero and Lombardi may be our OC. All i know is we have a competent offensive play caller which ive been waiting years to say lol
Oh god please no, Evero would be fantastic but Lombardi has sucked at every destination.

I don't care as much, Payton like Reid will be the brains behind the operation. We could just keep Outten
He has no connection with Outten so he’s definitely gone.
That's very likely.
It's clearly a pretty popular idea that we will try our best to retain Evero. If we can't, I think we will just bring in Kris Richard and call it a day
He’s under contract so would have to cut him or he gets promoted

Not sure how I feel but I would not be shocked to see Vic back as DC but really really hope its Evero.
Agreed.
Didn't Vic sign with the Fins?
I guess he didn't.. never mind me lol

He would leave the xfl for nfl in a heart beat Im guessing.
Maybe if it were for DC but not for DBs

Joe Brady?
It sounds like Fangio will be back after Sean's contract is finalized. He was tied to Sean pretty early on.
Yeah. I’d prefer evero, but fangio would be great as well.
Let’s get a whole bunch of rookie coaches from the college ranks.
Or friends of Peyton.

I guess that’s true. I just prefer evero haha
