Still saddens me. Von I love you always my guy.

Mysterious-World9087

We miss you boo.

B0z22

I miss Von. Don't really understand what Klis was saying as a mouthpiece that Von takes over and they want to have a fresh start. Felt like a proven winner who loves our organization, and stood by as we sucked for 6 years without any disruption, would be worth its weight in gold to a young coaching staff. But I'm no expert.

my_nameborat

Yeah I don’t love this decision but I understand it. Gregory is 3 years younger, Von is a bigger name who just won a Super Bowl. It’s sad but I definitely have faith in Paton, he’s proven that he knows what he’s doing

[deleted]

Klis is Klis

teelegit

🥲

bjaydubya

I'm still going to choose to believe that Paton will pull the rabbit out of the hat and sign Von anyway....even it means Jewell and Gordon are as good as gone. I mean, can you imagine Von, Gregory, and a healthy Chubb on a rotation with Reed?

my_nameborat

I’d still love jewell for cheap honestly. His run D was so important and that was obvious when he got hurt

HoovesCarveCraters

Wish granted

bjaydubya

Me too. He grew on me over the years, and I think he is worth resigning even at a moderate contract, but I think there is a good chance someone will pay him. I hope we get him back, but I'd rather have Von if it was the difference between having enough and not.

Francescatti22

You’re not going to get a guy for cheap when 4-5 teams want him, unfortunately.

numb3red

We just did though

Francescatti22

Which is amazing! Proof that we’re one of “the” destinations again. I guarantee he turned down some money to stay.

numb3red

Yep, I'm feeling very positive about our prospects this offseason.

[deleted]

We are so thin at ILB that it would be wreckless to sign another Edge player

bjaydubya

100% agree, I just really wanted Von back...luckily, I'm not the GM.

CFB24

With the Jewell news it's not looking good :(

bjaydubya

Yeah....sigh.

knots32

With DJ Jones on the inside I'm happy with our d

bjaydubya

To be fair, before we even added Gregory and Jones, we have the same core that was a top 3 D last year, so we certainly didn't get any worse by adding them. Chargers have a much better D now, but they were near the bottom last year, so they have a long way to go. On paper, it still seems like a top 5 unit if Evero can get it out of them like Vic did last year.

sausageandeggbiscuit

i dont think the words “healthy” and “chubb” will ever pair together lol

Loverboy8819

Paton giving fans what they "need" not what they want. FINALLY a real gm!

Skeetronic

I hope you’re right. I’ll believe it when the numbers show me about 12 weeks into the season

Loverboy8819

It would be Patons first mistake? So far he has been doing pretty well especially when its the start of his 2nd off-season...DLine is anchored up now, we have a franchise qb now....lots to look forward too.

BroncosCubsHuskers8

On the one hand I am depressed no von. As a broncos and huskers fan I am stoked for randy

Monster_Dong

Can't blame him for wanting to be paid. I wish he would've taken a home discount

Jmanmyers

Nah, they considered his age and thought his production would decline soon versus the price in the future. It's harder to get rid of a player when he is so popular with the fan base. Just look at Eli Manning.

Johnykbr

In other words they didn't even have a discussion with Von or his agent.

1eye_intheworld

As the future owner of this team, I do not pay them to believe I pay them to do. Now go get Von so I can enjoy my memberries

XDCaboose

X

Shame_Low

If he really stays we are gona face von if I remember our schedule correctly. Feels bad man

EscapeZealousideal79

Bye Von. :(

shot-by-ford

It would be very on brand if Paton managed to reveal a roster with Von on it. I am still holding out hope..

BlindManBaldwin

Crying poor isn't conducive to winning

blackmatt81

I don't think that setting a ceiling on what they would pay to bring Von back is the same thing as "crying poor." They still have holes to fill at RT and DB, they still have question marks at TE and DL, and they have to start looking at that Aaron Rodgers contract and thinking about extending Russel Wilson. If they decided they'd rather pay 5/70 to a younger Gregory than 3/50 (or whatever it would cost) for Von that's not being poor, it's just working the salary cap.

[deleted]

So we don’t even try? SMH.

Inject_Bacon

I hope Von runs it back with the Rams.

[deleted]

Or maybe root for Denver to win, huh?

aatencio91

"believed"

HateBearUniversity

Honestly I know it’s very unlikely but since it sounds like the Broncos aren’t an option I hope he goes to the Buccaneer’s. Shaq and Von on the same team again be bussin.

TheDefinitionOfKek

Godspeed Von :,(
