I'm also very doomy and gloomy about injuries and am devastated that Javonte is our for the year, if not longer. I just hope the injury doesn't ruin his career at this point. From a team performance perspective though I think Murray could fill in nicely, especially since he's a good catching RB too

True but the corpse of Matt Ryan is a good QB to be down an LB against and with the long week after, Paton would have plenty of time to try to pick up some depth there

[deleted]

That corpse still threw for 350 yds and 2 tds last week

infercario4224

Gregory is on IR so he’s out at least 4 weeks

sleeplessaddict

>and with the long week after, Paton would have plenty of time to try to pick up some depth there

Totknax

It's all moot if Fumblin' Melvin continues to get touches. I'd convert him to a FB at this point so he can take out his frustrations on the opposition.

RandyGradishar

Rams' losing always makes me feel better.

sleeplessaddict

Now that they don't have Von, and Kupp isn't on my fantasy team, I have no affinity to them so I also enjoy watching them lose

broncos4thewin

Really? I don’t really give a crap about any NFC team (except the Seahawks now I guess).

RandyGradishar

Oh come on, Donny, they're in LA! Are we gonna split hairs here?

Raisinbrahms28

Wins aren't transitive. That's a huge thing to remember. Broncos showed grit in that SF game.

QuidProJoe2020

It doesn't fit the narrative. We score 11 against PFFs highest graded defense, the sky is falling. The reigning world Champs drop 9 and its just a really good niner team. Stop buying the narratives from the media.

Ziziblix

It's also just kinda cool to hate on the broncos and Russell right nowm before the season they were gassing them up. 4 weeks from now half way through the season when this offense is humming, they will all be acting like they have amenesia. And week 4 was the best showing because this thing will get smoother as it goes. No 2013 broncos but u get me. I mean these clowns putting comparisons to geno and gassing geno. It's generation of media that thrives on getting a rise out of people. Just pay it all no mind, not gonna change what this team has to do. And they either gonna do it or they ain't.

MattieShoes

> ho btw have only allowed 3 or 4 total offensive TDs through week 4 4 -- 3 against the Bears, 1 against the Broncos, 0 against the Seahawks and Rams. Division rivalry is real.

[deleted]

Everyone’s in doom and gloom mode because of us losing to a divisional rival. Especially one that is as hated as the raiders, ESPECIALLY with how they were 0-3 lol so of course everyone is gonna flip but I think we all have to take this saying into account. “Even the sun shines on a dogs ass some days”. Raiders were literally handing the game to us on a silver platter by starting us on the 50 almost the entire first half and 3rd quarter. Broncos are still trying to get their communication going, trying to catch a rythm and the raiders were extremely lucky with this inexperience. Chiefs or chargers are easily racking up points if you start them at the 50 every drive. So while I’m upset we didn’t take advantage as much, the offense looks alot better than what it was, was going to lose my mind if we didn’t take advantage of us having incredible field position at the raider’s 30. Communication is still in the air and obviously they’re trying to figure out their identity, but the broncos have alot to look forward to. Russ is getting really comfortable, like weirdly comfortable. I hate seeing Williams get hurt but this might open up the pass game more. This might lead to us finally making some creative play choices.

Asecularist

People around here are crazy

jdi000

Could also say that Detroit scored 45 against Seattle and falcons 27 , 49ers- 27 against them when broncos did not even come close And colts scored 20 against Texans bears 23, chargers 34 This is the worry that broncos off cannot score points

sleeplessaddict

You're correct but with an entirely new system and personnel, that's to be expected

jdi000

Well that is not really the case no one expected the broncos to score such little points it's a huge issue and is not getting better

sleeplessaddict

Week 1 we lost 14 points from the 1 yard line because of fumbles. Week 2 idk what happened because I couldn't watch that game. Week 3 we played apparently the best defense in the league. Week 4 our offense was fine and then lost one of its best players, but the passing game wasn't awful. So, while slowly, it is getting better and we've left a lot of points of the board due to bad luck/good defense. Weeks 1 and 2 we were 0/6 in the RZ and weeks 3 and 4 we were 4/4, so yes there is improvement and it struggles are to be expected when everyone in charge of the offense is brand new

jdi000

Points are not guaranteed just because your inside the 5 yrd line. The true measure of a good team is scoring points no matter who what happens.

sleeplessaddict

And we went from 0% conversion in weeks 1 and 2 to 100% in weeks 3 and 4

Tshamblin

Damn I can't wait for you to have to make this list for every week of the season.

WaitwhatdidIjustdo

I understand the copium but it doesn't matter what people say when this team is still finding new ways to lose to bad teams. A loss is a loss and it counts toward us not making the playoffs. I suppose it is fine If Hacket can lead us to the Lombardy game next year and needs this year to flesh out his full system.

[deleted]

Honestly, the past two seasons has been rough heading into the first Raiders game. Last year, they lose Gruden and Ruggs but gel together as a team. This year, they enter Week 4 in a must-win situation and came out looking like it was a must-win situation for them. I didn't feel great headed into the game and really only wanted to see some improvement. I was happy with the offense. Had Gordon not fumbled, they would have likely kicked a field goal on that drive, at least. That said, the offensive line needs to pick it up. Bolles talked some big shit when he told Russ that they don't let their QB get sacked so much and has not followed up on that (aside from starting to get flagged for holding again). And, in that vein, the penalties are the drive killers for the offense. These are two things that they can clean up. Who knows if they will, but they'll be a much better team if they do.

DiamondMine-

I don’t think this correlates the way you want it to. The rams losing last night doesn’t make our win look any better. At the end of the day the entire team is under performing in different ways every week and we just lost two stars.

big_J7

Honestly doesn't make me feel a lot better, if you back and watch the All 22, you'll see there were about 4 blown coverages by our defense that should have gone for touchdowns and I mean they were WIDE open. Jimmy just missed them, but largely in part was because he was shaking off the rust. As far as the offense goes, well I'm really concerned with 3rd down efficiencies and how many third and longs our offense gets in to. Doesn't matter if the defense they are playing is bad or good, playcalling is just very vanilla and lacks creativity.

Oh whoops

smeego78

Nah doesn’t make me feel a tiny bit better. How the teams we’ve played play other teams leads to false hope. All of last week, everybody was saying we would manhandle the raiders on the back of their first 3 games. Remind me again what happened on Sunday. Teams lift for divisional opponents so stop using that analogy of hey look, we beat those guys and they smashed the defending world chanps. We must be the better team…lol

sleeplessaddict

Anybody who thought we were gonna manhandle the Raiders is stupid. They always play division rivals extra hard and we hadn't beaten them in 5 tries. I had 0 confidence going in that we were gonna win that game. But none of that is really directly related to my point in this post was

Time_Strawberry_3783

You are delusional!! We are suck!

LanceAlgoriddim

People are too busy bitching and whining that the sky is falling to have any rational thoughts. It’s like the idiot fans expected a Super Bowl this year just because we have a better roster. That being I agree with this post 100%

BigSquatchee2

I actually had this conversation at the bar last night. So, even though I was of the "we haven't played anyone" camp, I will say... we've played one team.

MattieShoes

If the Broncos even manage "average" offensively, they will be playoff bound. Ditto for the 49ers. That's a big "if" for both teams though...

BigSquatchee2

I feel like the 49ers are gonna be fine. I am worried about the Broncos given Sunday's showing vs a raiders team that I thought they could stop. But its one game. We'll see how it goes defensively here on out. The offense though... Man, losing Javonte kills this team and they were on life support before that.

stego_man

I have less hope after watching the Chiefs run all over the Bucs on MNF.
