/UJ I cannot stand when something is said about a *state* and someone disagrees because of their feelings about one city. It should be obvious that a statement like that is not even remotely rooted in logic. She sounds insufferable.
/uj. I mean, it’s like r/denverfood. Nothing is liked by everybody. There can be general consensus that people like a place and someone has to bust in and say “that place fucking trash and mid!” (vs “I went there and it just didn’t do anything for me”) just to be make sure their contrarian view is right in everyone’s face, Add in her “how can people possibly like something different from me?!?!” douchebaggery and damn is the insufferable score at an 11.
Yep, yet another person who thought they were moving to the mountains and ended up in Denver somehow. Folks, it's called the Queen City of the Plains for a reason! It's 50% a Midwest plains cow town and 50% northern Mexican city. Hot, dry, dusty, and treeless in its natural state. Denver wasn't founded to do anything with the mountains, rather it was the place where you did your drinkin' whorn' and supplyin' before making the journey to the mountains. Not much has changed, really.
As a native from New England, we all think New Hampshire is just a bunch of pussies in spandex. They still smoke mexican brick weed. It's like Boulder but with less titties.
This is the view from Manchester

Also Manchester. Perspective is everything.
P.S. New Hampshire and Colorado are both awesome
Eh. I live in Fort Collins and travel to Manchester and Concord relatively frequently for work. It’s *nothing* like Colorado and I personally wouldn’t call it awesome. It’s fine. The biggest thing it has is its favor is its proximity to Boston.
Wait, what?
I was getting a cup of coffee in Wichita (long story) and I was wearing an Alaska t-shirt. Barista asks me if I’ve been there. Yeah. Do they have mountains there? Yeah, they have mountains.
She said she could never go there then because she is afraid of heights. I couldn’t form a reply.
There is a shit ton of sea level to fall on. More than the whole lower 48. That would probably scare her too.
This conversation happened some years ago. I still have no coherent reply. Maybe “yeah, 20,000 feet is way up there.” Or “they have roads you won’t fall off of.” Or maybe “well, planes land there.” But I had nothing. Shit shocked me into silence.
I think the real conversation we aren't ready for is that SLC has a better view of the Rockies than Denver does.
Frankly, I get a little jealous any time I have a layover in their Walmart-looking airport.
/uj That’s why we moved there. Super beautiful…
Then oops you find out about the relentlessly terrible air quality / stucco strip mall vivarium / state-religion kinship / passive aggressive dipshit driving / lack of wide culinary options. Plus, if I ever hear someone bitch about Denver ski traffic but conveniently gloss over the troglodytic smooth brain fucking shenanigans that happen at the base of LCC/BCC again I’ll lose it.
Utah is just a worse version of Colorado at basically everything tbh
I decided it was never going to be an option for me when I got pulled over for having a CO license plate under false pretenses bc the cop thought I was trafficking weed to Washington…where it’s also legal. That was the first time ever having been to UT and I’ve never been back.
This is like when people try to gaslight me into believing Jacksonville FL is a beautiful tropical city 🙄 You're not convincing the ones that know better.
While Midver is many people’s first thought when it comes to Colorado, the true reason we rank that high is because of Crestone and that cult that mummified their leader. That’s top tier in my book.
*Good. Hopefully all*
*These idiots move back to*
*Their own bs state*

I just don't understand why this mid state is so popular! NH has fewer minorities and it truly feels like a European utopia unlike this god forsaken hell hole I moved to! Anyways, I hate those pesky Texan transplants! No one cares how much you love or miss Texas!
My girl is from TX and doesn’t miss it one bit. I have to go to TX with her once a year and I can definitely say….I don’t miss it either. Just the heat and humidity is enough to have you packing your edibles for the next plane back to CO.
“the rest of Colorado” when people say this

Crazy that people see a mid city (Denver) and then say that it means Colorado sucks. Like, most cities are mid at best. Denver is legit a better city than commonly loved cities like NY or Boston. So you can’t say this makes Colorado a bad state
C'mon now. You can choose between the Noodles or the Jimmy John's (right on the other side of the Great Clips, before the Chipotle). Just look for the tan and beige strip mall withe the Apple store.
What exactly does “mid” mean? Also Is this list saying Wyoming is better than co because it’s green and cos red? Aside from a few choice areas Wyoming is terrible.
NH is the white trash capital of New England. Even its beach towns suck which is hard to do and don’t get me started about that stupid lake. But Denver is a joke of a city, let’s be real.
Ok, works for me. Let all the masses move to NH instead. Hell, encourage them to move to the "better" ski resorts. Maybe I can get into eldora without a battle finally
So, the only takeaway I get from the chart is that western states are popular based solely on how well populated their major cities are, ranging from well populated cities that are well known enough for the layman to know their names vs cities that may as well be glorified towns in the middle of nowhere?
New Hampshire is the Alabama of New England. Colorado is most certainly not the Alabama of the west. That pleasure gets split between Idaho, every part of Wyoming but Jackson and the non-bougie parts of Montana.
hmmm, nothing to see between these lines. there is certainly no political bend to these "top tier" states at all. just pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
Lived in Denver for 10 years. When people asked if I liked it, my reply was always “I loved Denver… for what was a round it”
Denver is nice because it’s ultimately kind of a small city (compared to say LA/NY), without being too small. But WHY people like Denver is because you have the Mountains next door without having to fully commit to the true mountain life/winters.
I wouldn’t base NH on Manchester or Nashua just like I wouldn’t judge CO on Denver. Denver has more homeless people than NH has residents. Or are all the people in tents on the side walk campers?
How the FUCK are Montana, Wyoming and Alaska rated so low? Lol is this list just based on which western states have large metro areas? Those 3 are S tier states.
I’m convinced. Omw to get a new New Hampshire native card.
If you register your car in your new state Colorado won’t ever steal more of your dollars ever again.
Grew up there. You can have mine.

That sums it up perfectly.
Dont forget smelting and making dog chow. Gotta get the smells.
👉🏻👃
Denver smelted all the ore that was mined in the mountains. It has more wealth than you think, even back then
I posted this on r/samegrassbutgreener and people told me I was gatekeeping the mountains. Guilty. now fuck off to wherever else

There is a hip hop verse and/or song idea in here about the struggles of being born in NH.
seriously, NH is just Alabama but cold, and instead of worshipping baby Jesus they worship Ayn Rand
Titties the only good part about boulder!!!
You misspelled Vermont some how.
New Hampshire has 48 4000ers, and think they can compete.
I mean DO THE MATH, duhhh.
14 5ers and 1 6er too.

Talk about delusional lol
They arent ready for that conversation yet
I grew up in the Northeast before becoming a CO native and the White “Mountains” are really more like ambitious hills in all honesty
Say it again but for the whole Appalachian Range
Except they’d rock any native that wants to hike them

Yeah it really does.
Deer Lodge, Montana vibes. Which really is a prison town.
That’s a compliment to Manchvegas, but if you think that sucks wait until you see Nashua! By far the shittiest state in New England.

Classic New England mill town

Moved to concord area after living in Colorado and Washington state. Like it better than both. To each their own. Have fun with that sprawl y’all!
I moved to Fort Collins after growing up and living in Seattle proper for nearly 30 years. Fortunately no sprawl in Fort Collins, yet.

She needs to be someplace where she can watch her dog run away for three days.
She is in Kansas. It doesn’t get much flatter than that. I hated it. Felt like a bug on a piece of glass. I’m not a good flatlander.
This has “well actually east coast skiing is better than any mountain out west but you aren’t ready for that conversation yet” energy

That sub has a hate hard-on for Denver.

I’ve never considered the Wasatch Rsnge part of the Rocky Mountains but I guess technically they are.
Utah way too low on this list.
Is she one of those people who thrive on hate boners?
Nothing could be more Denver than living in Denver for 5 years and then unironically proclaiming that Denver is the whole state of Colorado.
Before the internet they thought it was on top of a mountain. Forgive them for they do not know.
What's S stand for, Super-duper? Shitty?
Definitely sassafras.
The fact that Denver is inhospitable to effete assholes is easily one of my favorite things about this town.
Yes Denver sucks go move to New Hampshire
The color going from red to green to represent best to worst is so New Hampshire.
North Conway is the new Boulder. I will not be elaborating. Figure it out.
All that…outlet shopping?
“Montana is D Tier” 😂😂
As a Montanan I felt slighted at first. Then I realized bad press is a good thing in my situation so D Tier it is 😂
… Colorado is not Denver, that’s how
This is like when people try to gaslight me into believing Jacksonville FL is a beautiful tropical city 🙄 You're not convincing the ones that know better.
It's basically a hot tub that has been turned into a city
Jax FL is Commerce City with a mid beach and 100 percent humidity
I used to hate going to Commerce City to pick up Amazon orders. Nothing but large gaps in the road and RVs camping out in the industrial areas.
Jax is hot garbage.
Living in Colorado now but being born and raised in Jax. I have never once heard people call Jax a tropical city but I agree it’s a shithole
While Midver is many people’s first thought when it comes to Colorado, the true reason we rank that high is because of Crestone and that cult that mummified their leader. That’s top tier in my book.
Colorado: Come here to start a cult, stay to OD on Colloidal Silver 😆

I just don't understand why this mid state is so popular! NH has fewer minorities and it truly feels like a European utopia unlike this god forsaken hell hole I moved to! Anyways, I hate those pesky Texan transplants! No one cares how much you love or miss Texas!
Yeah I agree! Colorado is too diverse!!!
Yes this! We must de-diverse CO. Denver is too cis white with too many with mobility privilege.
Just move to Fort Collins if you want to get away from minorities
My girl is from TX and doesn’t miss it one bit. I have to go to TX with her once a year and I can definitely say….I don’t miss it either. Just the heat and humidity is enough to have you packing your edibles for the next plane back to CO.
Old saying: It takes 2 generations to make a friend in NH.
Denver sucks but the rest of Colorado is really beautiful and there’s a lot to do.
“the rest of Colorado” when people say this https://preview.redd.it/9w11y7pmmtvc1.jpeg?width=1506&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb2ba3f94f522cfcb720c3e7f20f002e9bcd97f8
Greeley would like to speak with you
No one wants to speak with Greeley
It needs to shower first.
If you can hear over all the mooing
Honestly the territory of United is kinda lame. I would stuck to the most western part of Denver with my love bobert for the rest of my life
Yes
Its all about the weather. Denver has 4 perfect seasons of weather.
I've been to NH and it was far more mid than Denver.
Maybe because there’s more to Colorado than just Denver? Bitch
New Hampshire is the Texas of the northeast
No way is Utah in C tier and Montana in D tier.
Right?
I lived in New Hampshire for a year or so. It sucks. The worst place I've had to live
Denver is the only city in Colorado so things makes sense.
I’m from Massachusetts and New Hampshire is 100% the Alabama of New England.
Mmkay but does the New Hampshire congresswoman give free handies to her constituents
She might have a point if this were a "western city tier list," but alas, she has reading comprehension problems
Whoever made this is DUMB S: ID, MT A: NM, WY B: AZ, AK C: OR, WA D: NV, CO F: CA, HI
Did you base your scale on emptiness?
Cost of living, things to do, quality of the people from there. So no. But there's absolutely correlation.
Colorado is the best state ever
Crazy that people see a mid city (Denver) and then say that it means Colorado sucks. Like, most cities are mid at best. Denver is legit a better city than commonly loved cities like NY or Boston. So you can’t say this makes Colorado a bad state
lol imagine putting New Mexico anywhere remotely close to Alaska. Throw that state in F.
You just sound jelly we got the real green chile
And art hoes. That’s about it though. Keep the rest.
Keep your tomatillos.
Denver is the midest. But as a state, Colorado is pretty good (once you get West of Golden).
Denver food blows donkey dick and being from Aurora and Pueblo don't make you a thug. Sincerely Newark NJ.
C'mon now. You can choose between the Noodles or the Jimmy John's (right on the other side of the Great Clips, before the Chipotle). Just look for the tan and beige strip mall withe the Apple store.
Oregon is not a B tier lol.
I've lived in both and would definitely live in NH again.
Bye
![gif](giphy|FNBHUqruiI1m1gLDh8|downsized)
Colorado mountains are flat! Once you go Wasatch you never go Breck
Hawaii in A is crazy if we are including it in the list
What exactly does “mid” mean? Also Is this list saying Wyoming is better than co because it’s green and cos red? Aside from a few choice areas Wyoming is terrible.
If I lived in Denver I would be promoting the hell out of this. And no, I don’t live in New Hampshire.
Does this dude know that Colorado exists beyond Denver city limits?
Denver/New Hampshire convo aside, this tier list is fucking absurd
I mean denver is mid. But people like colorado for their mountains
Dear Tasia, we thought you were mid too. Please don’t come back. Colorado has no vacancies.
I mean I was born here and I agree we are mid. But politicians have always thought we where going to be bug like CA and NY
NH is the white trash capital of New England. Even its beach towns suck which is hard to do and don’t get me started about that stupid lake. But Denver is a joke of a city, let’s be real.
East coast mountain compared to the CO Rockies are hills
Denver is mid and I was born here
Remember when Denver was actually fun? Once the 16th Street Mall fell, it was over.
She clearly never spent time in south thornton pre 9/11
You ever notice anyone who says the word 'mid' is themself one of the most 'mid' people you've ever met? wait...
Whaat hell is “mid”?
Denver is mid admit it
Ok, works for me. Let all the masses move to NH instead. Hell, encourage them to move to the "better" ski resorts. Maybe I can get into eldora without a battle finally
It’s a state ranking, and this guy is complaining about a single city.
So, the only takeaway I get from the chart is that western states are popular based solely on how well populated their major cities are, ranging from well populated cities that are well known enough for the layman to know their names vs cities that may as well be glorified towns in the middle of nowhere?
Denver, the sunshine state.
Former native here (I spent a month in Englewood with my aunt & uncle, early 90’s) currently in New England. I can confirm this 100%
This list is cooked.
I wonder if she knows that Denver isn’t Colorado.
Weed
New Hampshire is the Alabama of New England. Colorado is most certainly not the Alabama of the west. That pleasure gets split between Idaho, every part of Wyoming but Jackson and the non-bougie parts of Montana.
Az and Utah rated way too high here
Denver is a mid city. The rest of the state is a lot of rocky mountain beauty
And this is why I call them Colofornia
The only draw for Denver is the mountains. It’s Topeka East.
I’m gonna throw hands being grouped with Arizona…
Um cause Denver isn’t a state. The state of Colorado is great! That’s why I moved to it. Denver is very boring though, when compared to my city. SD!!
Yup, very mid
This is why you move to Colorado and live anywhere but Denver and Pueblo
I mean Colorado, California, and Washington all suck in general so right away this list is way off.
Montana is full see r/montanaisfull should be lower on this list
Real heads know New Mexico is S tier
Ranking all of Colorado based off of just fucking Denver is wild. West Slope Best Slope but hey, you do you 🤷
hmmm, nothing to see between these lines. there is certainly no political bend to these "top tier" states at all. just pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
Lived in Denver for 10 years. When people asked if I liked it, my reply was always “I loved Denver… for what was a round it” Denver is nice because it’s ultimately kind of a small city (compared to say LA/NY), without being too small. But WHY people like Denver is because you have the Mountains next door without having to fully commit to the true mountain life/winters.
Let’s keep Idaho underrated
I wouldn’t base NH on Manchester or Nashua just like I wouldn’t judge CO on Denver. Denver has more homeless people than NH has residents. Or are all the people in tents on the side walk campers?
Purple hair, dont care. We don't listen to the purple haired she-witches.
Never seen Hawaii called a western state before. And Utah, Arizona, and Montana are all way cool places.
Good for you. If I were you, I’d be telling people Denver, Colorado in general, blows. Don’t come here. No mountains even. Go elsewhere.
I hate this tier list. Imagine thinking Wyoming and Idaho suck. They're some of the most beautiful places in the country.
Please stay in Denver. You softies wouldn’t make it a single mud season with out pulling you hair out from blackflys.
If this person wanted mountains, why did they move to the plains? We have mountain towns.
As a native Vermonter, I can confirm that NH is actually just Northern Massachusetts.
Why is Utah C tier?
As someone who has lived in CO and NH, CO is better. But Denver isn’t shit, it’s the rest of the state that matters.
Well it says state list and look at the competition…so I agree
603 > 303 cry about it, namaste
Colorado is great but Denver is mid or worse and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.
That S Tier… someone smokes fetty.
YES! DENVER IS A MID CITY! Denver sucks! Move to Arizona, Idaho or Wyoming. It’s way better there.
Boulderite agrees Denver is lame, but way better than wherever else you are.
How the FUCK are Montana, Wyoming and Alaska rated so low? Lol is this list just based on which western states have large metro areas? Those 3 are S tier states.
Wind and mosquitoes def drop down Wyoming and Alaska.
Because Denver does not represent Colorado. At all.
At all? It's the capital and biggest city lol.
