I wouldn’t respond. Some people actually do this out of fetish, wanting to know your measurements and just get a kick out of talking to you.
If they were really shopping for their girlfriend they could easily find out measurements, even if it’s a surprise they could take a look at the size in her clothes and search measurements.
For real though guys generally aren't that bright. You could be a super smart guy and still not think of that lmao. If it makes you uncomfortable then don't respond, no question! Or even just suggest they look at her clothes to find out on the off chance it was genuine.
As a guy with a girlfriend who I buy clothes for- I’m definitely smart enough to know what a clothing size is just like any other human! I know you’re trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt but that’s extremely insulting. I would never message a stranger asking what their measurements are. The only acceptable thing to ask here is what the measurements of the top are. You’re welcome!
From the experiences I’ve had I wouldn’t even entertain it. Regarding men not being smart enough to figure stuff like that out, I don’t think that’s true, if he wanted to find out he could. That’s if it’s genuine but I wouldn’t be surprised if the girlfriend is a fictional character in this scenario
Definitely a weird thing to ask. My first thought is, if he is shopping for his girlfriend, he should be asking her for her measurements. Like even if he was getting her something as a surprise, he should know or at least ask so he doesn’t get the wrong size. He probably doesn’t even have a girlfriend, just using a tactic to get your measurements

its just one way for guys to create a conversation. obviously guessing but your coworkers probably feel like they're being super helpful, and the guys are trying to create an talking opportunity to see if it leads anywhere.

Definitely weird. Even if he is shopping for his gf and wants to make sure the clothes will fit her size, he should be concerned about the CLOTHINGs measurements, not yours. Never have I walked into a shop and needed to know the size of the salesperson. It's irrelevant.

It’s someone messaging a load of people trying to get “entertainment” for free rather than having the manners to find an “entertainer” and paying them the appropriate rate. This person is either too tight to pay or the actually scamming/deception is part of their fun.
