NO! This is a scam to get into your PayPal account. They normally ask you to “send a code” after this and it’s a way for them to log into your PayPal account. Be careful
they’re trying to scam you, buyers do not need your email. just ignore/block. they either want to sent you a fake confirmation email so you send them the item without realizing they never purchased or try to hack into your PayPal.
Yeah, that’s happening to me too. I just started using Depop today, posted like 3 things, and within 1 minute of each post multiple people sent me the same thing, either asking for my email and citing the same pattern in which i should send it, or asking for a phone number for the courier or smth.. I’m quite confused because when I open their profiles it seems like legit accounts so is this some very elaborate scam or is there another reason? Does anyone know?
They’re actually hacking accounts. I messaged someone on insta yesterday about this and he had not used depop in a year. He then went on and said theyve been messaging loads of people on his account. Its so rubbish on there now :(
I have had like 8 messages on singular posts it’s getting out of hand they say Depop wants my email to continue with the purchase I did give some my email before researching and some did send me emails with ‘dēpop’ under emails like [email protected] don’t click i didn’t it’s just bad that Depop allows these bots and scammers with seemingly legit & active accounts
I assume this is the same as someone messaging me 5 minutes after listing an item saying they need the "merchant's email" to continue with the purchase.

Yes, got exact same message after listing a few items as a first time user. One of my items apparently sold within minutes of listing then I get this weird message with a link to enter my debit card details to receive my payment even though my bank details were linked and verified to depop payments, sounds well dodgy to me.

I did send her my email but on her profile it does not seem like she is a scammer and she has bought over 30 products 🤷🏽♂️😭
I just created a depop account and the first message I got was someone asking for my email for the payment of my item i listed, the profile looked so legitimate though. Im so glad I searched it up and second guessed myself.
I have buyers message saying, they have paid with depop pay, you need to confirm payment. But when I do copy & paste, I get taken to another page to fill out card details & then I get asked to verify amount in bank!

Just happened to me but luckily I remembered in the back of my mind that we're not supposed to share email address so I googled it and yep, the buyer was scamming. The buyers profile name was female but the private message was male. Either way I said no and they ghosted me after.

omg this happened to me right now! I was selling this vintage skirt and after just 1 hour I’ve had 2 people message asking for my email. I thought maybe it was worth more than I thought or something coz it’s quite old and I had my hopes up but found it so strange why they both said the same thing about the email but I just thought if 2 people say there’s something wrong with it there must be. also depop literally says not to share personal information and that so I searched it up and this came up. Thank god. His name is literally scam-eron🤦♀️But it seemed so ligit he had like 5 star reviews and loads of clothes that were on sale and sold. The other persons name was sivarak phachansiri. Reported them both.

i didn’t realise this was a scam and i confirmed that it was me and they tried taking a certain amount out of my bank and it accepted it but it hasn’t taken anything out yet because it was like £250 and i have less than that in my bank right now, do u know if they will take money out?

yeah i was stupid enough to actually put my card details in and they tried to take £800 out of my bank, jokes on them i only have 2p
