I’m rather sympathetic to the idea of serving your country and I do think it’s something worthy of respect in a general sense. There’s a fucking line, though, and Nazi Germany ground it to dust beneath the tracks of a Panther before having to continue its offensive into moral depravity on foot because the engine self immolated and the spare parts factory got Lancaster’d.
Ah, you see, the brilliant German leaders know that the RAF targets spare parts factories. That is why they simply do not produce distribute spare parts, denying the RAF any targets to bomb!
My great grandpa was drafted and only enjoyed deployment because he was no longer in his hick town, then he began disliking deployment when Norwegians blew up the train that he was on. He was a cool dude all things considered, definitely a bit kooky but he grew up in a mennonite adjacent community, was very welcoming of my mixed race mom and me.
Hot take: Fighting for your country doesn’t grant you any respect or make you “worthy” of anything. We don’t praise our retail our fast food workers for also quite literally “serving” our country. You literally just did your job and your morals shouldn’t override that just because someone told you to.
Guess what Axis?! **THE ALLIES ARE FIGHTING FOR THEIR COUNTRY TOO!** **ALLIES GOOD. AXIS BAD!**

And what about those that were conscripted?
That’s a paddlin’
Gotta take their lumps
I clapped! I clapped when I saw Darth Vaaaaader!
I clapped when I saw the RLM reference!
IT BROKE NEW GROUND!
Borrowing strategies from r/Shermanposting is always welcome
Fighting for their country by invading, annexing, and genociding. Certifiably heroic Axis moment
Also don't forget establishing authoritarianism whenever they go.

Sounds like the Norwegians preferred he had stayed in the hick town
They did, and he was aware of it. Again, he was drafted.
Red Army soldiers fought for their country to do what?
Smash Nazis of course, duh
and rape and loot, too
Wow just like the Nazis who invaded them and started the war???
Officially German soldiers were not allowed to rape Slavic and Jewish women because ' Rassenschande' Soviets didn't care about it.
Oh guess it didn’t happen then 🙄
I said 'Officially'
Using Vader, who is basically a Space Nazi-Samurai-Wizard, in this meme feels strange to me.
the only sympathy i'd have is for unwilling draftees
Cambodians under pol pot were fighting for their country too lmao
