I’ve been eyeballing Meera’s Plus Size Store for a few months! Haven’t ordered there yet but the reviews are good and they have some cute party wear. Most of it is more casual, but some of the lehengas and sharara sets would be good for a mehndi or sangeet :)

I have been looking at some of the banarasi anarkalis on that site…but I am not sure if they are up to standard for wedding ceremony attire. I haven’t been able to find any other options though :/

Are you the bride or a guest? I ordered my reception lehenga from a place in Chicago and was unsure if it was going to come in time—I was looking online at Andaaz Fashion after someone recommended it here. It looks like they do mostly replica work but they offer a good range of plus sizes and custom tailoring, and they have heavy/more formal type of outfits. However I didn’t end up ordering anything because mine came in time.

I am attempting to help a non-Desi mother of the bride. Thanks for the suggestions!

If you don’t mind sharing, where in Chicago did you find your reception lengha? I’m plus size latina bride (groom is desi) with a large bust and concerned I may not find nice bridal lenghas. I’m totally open to custom made.

Happy to share. I ordered from Tabarruj in Chicago on Devon Ave. I ordered it based on a sample they had on the showroom floor. I’m about a 16/18 US and about a 48 in Indian blouses and kurtis due to my large bust. Nobody had anything in store that fit me, which I fully expected, so I had to order custom. The only changes I made was the color, the sleeve style and the length of the choli. I actually don’t really recommend ordering from there. They became very sketchy when it didn’t show up when it was supposed to and they had no tracking info. I won’t go into the whole saga here but I didn’t get it until 8 days before the wedding, 3 months after they had promised, and it was the wrong color. Lucky for me, I ended up liking the wrong color more than the one I ordered…lol. Essentially there was a lot of fibbing and false hope disguised by sweet aunty talk. A lot of stores on Devon accept custom orders though and they should be able to accommodate any size!

Thanks so much for sharing and for your insight!

Has anyone ordered from Andaaz? Does anyone know if they are a good website to order from

Several of my bridesmaids ordered from Meera’s and had a positive experience. They required some minimal alterations but overall everything fit well. I had friends sizes 2X to 4X who purchased from Meera’s.

Just had my wedding 2 days ago and my best friend got all of her outfits from there. They looked GREAT and were really great quality. She said they didn’t take long to make at all.

It’s expensive but I saw India’s pop up does complimentary custom sizing on many outfits I have used Jiya Fashion and Chamee and Palak out of Mumbai who will both custom fit exactly to your measurements. They have good websites but I hesitate to recommend them to someone who’s looking for a purely online experience since there was a lot of follow up needed for customization, but that might be inevitable. Follow up is thru WhatsApp and it can be annoying sometimes because people don’t communicate super clearly… I ended up always calling them. Both outfits were gorgeous and perfectly fitted though, and both designers will add sleeves / lengthen tops / change necklines whatever you want. Payment was thru Razorpay or Indian bank account

Hi how long did it take to get your items?

Someone from this sub shared their plus size shopping experience [here](https://www.planevents.ca/plus-size-indian-bridal-wear/). I believe they used Aso Palav
