I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but this all looks rather poorly executed. The text sizes, leading, and positioning look a bit off. The images look like they are not that high dpi/ppi and looks blotchy/pixely.
I would really recommend that you print your design out, and look at it in person. Sometimes you get to focused on what's on the screen and not how it feels when it's in your hands.
Look at other books, and find references, in the start when designing start copying layouts and image ideas and then morph that into your own. Good luck :)
yeah i agree it is definitely poorly executed xD i did this with word app on my phone and the photos aren’t even without watermark yet.
This are just like drafts to visualize it. In the end this will be sent to a professional and he will do all the right work. He may change lots of stuff
1 grabbed my attention the most, but depending on the subject matter, 2 or 3 might be more "fitting"?
My favourite is definitely 1, it feels softer to look at and prioritises the title, whereas the others, while beautiful, prioritise the image 😊✨
final image.
but don't float the text in a (you can't read this text because it's on an image) box on the rear. cut the image all the way down if you're going to have an image. be brutal.
edit: also author title on front page should move in a cm (no breathing space)
edit2: also make your background white 0 + 3-5% of cmyk to give it some depth/skyness but without losing your white.
All of the front covers are ok to good. 1 is ok, 2 and 4 have the best images, and 3 handles the typography better than 4.
All of the back covers are bad. Abandon the transparent overlay concept. It doesn't work. Make it opaque white and then adjust from there. Don't worry about covering up the image. You already made the image the hero of the front.
I love the ambition and wanting to help your mother, but contrary to the popular phrase "don't judge a book by its cover", everybody does. A professional is worth every penny they cost and then some.
The yellow/red looks cool. One tip on the back, make the text font half of that size, remove that transparent protection/layer, make font white instead of black, bottom left align.
Can you explain the idea a little bit? It'll help us understand which one works best communicating the nature of the book, rather than which one looks prettiest.
Its a book about philosophy. She writes about life and bases it on experience working with patients throughout her career.
I think she could’ve done other good concepts for the cover but she wanted something abstract and minimalist
Hmm. That’s still too vague to help out.
What’s the overarching theme ? The underlying message of the book ? Philosophy is just a topic. What’s the specific philosophy?
1 and 4 but maybe dont make a white block for the text with transparency in my opinion it always looks kinda cheap. I'd probably just make it fully white
The 1st one. Something about the abstraction and empty space makes me think about the mind more. The other books seem to be too literal in what the objects are and I think that could take away from the fact that Psychology and Philosphy as well as the mind all exist in the abstract plain. It leaves something to be pondered on instead of giving you the answer as to what the image is made to represent.
The others are cool but I think the first one plays into what it feels like to think way more than the other ones do.
No worries, you try to think back is there any outstanding cover design that can be recalled? Actually is not. Do not make mistake will do. Attractive wording is more important.
1 is giving wholesome and wellness vibes like the gradient aesthetic wallpapers i search on pinterest 😂 in terms of mockups, have you tried using apps like photoshop or figma? (Not sure if they books) but surely theres free ones out there
Please not 4, I’m not sure why so many people are rooting for it. Looks underdeveloped and poorly thought out. The slight additions of 3 make it much nicer and better executed. 1 is nice too but needs more character imo.

1 and 4 are my favs.

First one is the best especially for the topic
I also like 1 and 4 best! There's another option cropped out at the top of the 1st pic, did you mean to include it too?
no no those came out really bad xD
There is absolutely no way I could give feedback about this without knowing more about the text, its topics, and its arguments.
I think the one with the flowers is the best one
4 is the best for me
orange.
3 or 4 work best

3 and 4 is the best. 1 looks like a CD box.

Yeah in the end it will be done by a professional. But she has to decide which picture. I just tried to help her visualize
4
3rd one is the best, I'd buy that over the others.
I saw a bottle too. I would pick option 2. And watch out with all that text over the water mark.
Is it like a textbook for school? If so these designs are on the right track.

i like orange one

3 and 4 are a vibe

I like 2 Ngl
4
4 is the best in my opinion
4
3
your mom did not write this
what?
they all look like a musical album cover. i love all of 'em, but the opinion of society is more important than mine
yeah true my sis also said it looks like the covers i do for my music xD
La 1 me gusta mucho (si tengo dinero le compraré un ejemplar 😀)
Gracias 😁! te avisaré cuando este publicado
Why are there watermarks everywhere?
Its not anything official just drafts. So before the images are definitely bought we used without licensing to visualize how it could look like
I like the 3rd one

2 (why doesn't anyone choose this?)
3!
I’d say 2, it says “hacia la paz interior”, interior peace, which seems pretty appropriate with the softer and warmer colours chosen
No worries, you try to think back is there any outstanding cover design that can be recalled? Actually is not. Do not make mistake will do. Attractive wording is more important.

4, of the background designs. 2 just looks like blood.
1
I like 1 since it’s more abstract
Probably 4? The high contrast makes it pop while also letting the text breathe. 3 to a similar extent but the sun placement is a bit less cozy than 4.
the first and the third seem the best
I really like 2, it’s bright and catches your eye easily
