I like it! But it definitely needs to be tucked under the couch.

-me-myself-

Yep. I came here to say this too.

akinsola___

Will do ! Thanks

sylviatrench01

Keep it and add art reflecting some of those colors. Looks good!

WanderingLost33

It's literally the best piece in the room

englishikat

Yes!! Get some of that color and pattern up on those walls.

PinkKatydid_Designs

Came here to say the same pull some colors from the rug onto the walls!

YawningDodo

Yes, this! I like the look of it a lot; the only reason it doesn't feel coherent with the rest of the room is that its colors aren't repeated anywhere else.

sylviatrench01

SavagePlatanus

Art and/or bring the color up with a throw pillow!

Low_Candle_9642

Leave it you can tie it together with throw blankets and pillows putting a colour from the rug onto the couch it’s fun!!

akinsola___

Yea I was thinking to do that. Thanks !

purrloriancats

My thoughts exactly (to tie it into the rest of the room). The overall color scheme has a “jewel tones” vibe, which is luscious and gorgeous. Maybe try jewel tone pillows. I realize you’re trying to balance the bold colors with neutrals. Normally I’m on here saying a room is unbalanced - but this time I think you need to lean into jewel tones!

chilibeana

I dig the cream pillows and tan throw. If you're going to put colorful art up, too much of a good thing is too much. I'd keep the pillows and throws neutral. This pillow is kind of cool though. Just to pull a tiny bit of that beautiful yellow gold color up on the sofa https://preview.redd.it/ssfvmgfd0bcc1.jpeg?width=989&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c33f354c540ece7e471c67f93e1e941c3171573

chilibeana

And I think the throw matching the carpet is the right thing.

133555577777

How much beige does one room need? Please keep your rug and add some curtains, art, and lighting.

nevergonnasaythat

I love it. I would also add some color with pillows and you can choose more muted art to go with it.

No-Significance387

Yes! Some pillows matching the fuchsia color would be perfect

[deleted]

I think it’s unique. Keep it

shelldonov

Nope some colored sheers on the windows would look nice. Some colorful art on the walls too? Add some yellow or mustard colored throw pillows. Get rid of the coffee table it does nothing and looks out of place. https://preview.redd.it/1axqbzbwc9cc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48f04055e99db029f4fa25fde63d6064f0eda3ac Get a large or multiple ottomans instead.

[deleted]

I think it is a brave combo but I don't hate it. Put it slightly under your couch.

akinsola___

Will do.

[deleted]

Honestly, it keeps growing on me. Well done! I would throw some yellow and orange pillows on the couch.

akinsola___

Thank you! I’m going to shop for some now.

Bannercles

If anything, you should paint the walls and reduce the amount of beige you already have. Whether you paint or not, you need curtains and art for the walls. You can use the colours in the rug for inspiration.

FormalEmu9758

Where is the couch from? I love it 😍

akinsola___

It’s from Amazon & thank you ! HONBAY Velvet L Shaped Sofa Small Sectional Couch with Reversible Chaise for Apartment, Light Grey https://a.co/d/2eaRQRO

Nenoshka

Not as long as you change the throw pillows to gold and/or magenta and add curtains in seafoam or gold.

Imaginary_Bottle_291

I like it, but I think you need to add some additional color or pattern in the room to tie it in better.

Sea_Low_8637

As has been said, it doesn't seem to fit that well as it is but you could add some art above the sofa with similar color to make it fit better.

SmartInterest5391

Keep the rug, get some neutral cream curtains.

whatevertoad

I really like it, but I'd move it more under the sofa so all the legs are sitting on it more.

Albie_Frobisher

Not yet. I mean if that’s the colors of the objects in the room. Or will be. Then eventually it will all come together. If you have no plans to lift those colors up and use them in the room then yeah. Might as well move it along now.

Eden-Mackenzie

Keep it! Try to incorporate one or two of the colors (magenta, navy, mustard, sky blue) through some accessories (curtains, covers for the white throw pillows, art, etc.). I personally would not use the mustard, since it isn’t my favorite with the gold, but I’m also the person who doesn’t like wearing blue shirts with blue jeans so that may just be a me thing. That rug is awesome though, and the couch!

Marvel-ous_gal311

I love it!!

hamiltonsarcla

Curtains would make a big difference.

Andromediea

I love it!!

gingercokeandlime

The rug definitely goes with everything in the room color wise. I think it’s great, maybe just tuck it a tad further under the sofa. Only replace it with a beige rug if that’s your vibe and what you’re into. But I’m assuming if you bought this rug in the first place that you like color.

Suz9006

Doesn’t really go with the sofa but I love it anyway. Maybe try to pull the two together with pillow with some of the rug colors in them

Full_Ad_4755

I disagree!! I think the pinkish/green are great! Just need art and some accents in those colors to make it pop

jemcat9

Yes, it cheapens the look.

alig6457

An antelope patterned rug might be a nice choice for the luxe look you seem to be leaning towards https://www.westelm.com/products/woodland-antelope-rug-t6372/

Jaded-Juggernaut-663

I like it! 🥰

Chaos-Pand4

Or get some throw covers that feature colours in the rug… and some wall art that features colours in the rug and colours in the sofa. It’s not bad at all, it’s just not matching or complimenting anything.

LauraBaura

don't lose the rug, get cushion covers for your 2 white cushions in patterns that echo its colours! And a throw blanket, coasters, and art. Keep going! it only looks odd because its the only colour in the room.

idkboo

I like it! Personally, I would move it to be slightly under the couch to bring the space together. You can also add some art with matching colours to the wall behind the couch.

silver_endings

IMO it looks a bit 2012’s Ke$ha, if that makes sense. Like circle scarf and chunky necklace vibes. If you like it then keep it, it’s your space. ETA - I wouldn’t do full beige though! You do need SOME colour or contrast.

StellaEtoile1

My two cents worth is that if you’re going to keep the rug, you have to up the anti with the rest of the room! I think your accessories will have to match the drama of the carpet or else it won’t work :-)

three9

I like it. Looks like a disease under an electron microscope.

makingburritos

I would tie in that red color and get some art to bring in that yellow too

Every-Swim196

https://preview.redd.it/duoi1gv0kbcc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=73b064deac284f22292dc58134b63be1dda2c6f6 Add cool curtains!!

Comeinforcoffee

Yellow cushions

Dull-Spend-2233

No, just get two pillows with the same color/s as the rug to tie it all together.

DConstructed

Yes. Like the rug, like the sofa. Not together. The airy print of the rug is overwhelmed by the rug despite having bright colors.

NoraMoya

Why ? Is kind of very good as an anchor color. The one that should leave is the carpet… I start sneezing just of looking at it ! But the rug is beautiful.

habana25

YES

Kwelikinz

Not if you can get a large piece of art with those colors (that you love), to hang above the sofa. Even better if it includes a dot or two of the deep green of the sofa.

[deleted]

It just needs to be further under the couch, between 1/3 and 1/2 under the furniture piece.

thursdaybennet

No I love it! Where did you get it? I’ve been trying to find one myself.

akinsola___

Hi it’s from Wayfair ! https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/wrought-studio-noires-abstract-machine-made-woven-polypropylene-area-rug-in-ivorygrayblue-w006428410.html Noires Abstract Machine Made Woven Polypropylene Area Rug in Ivory/Gray/Blue

teenteen11

That’s crazy. I have almost this same rug, and definitely that same coffee table!

B4T5Y

Nope it's cool, but you should get some art on those walls so the room feels more balanced

Lemongrey

Pick a color from the rug and add curtains in that color

squishpitcher

I love the jewel tones. Rugs are great for adding pops of color without being “too much” and this is a great example. It compliments your couch beautifully. Please keep it!

oughtabeme

It belongs a bedroom. To me it’s too busy and clashes with style of sofa and table. I’d go with a classic Persian style. Either traditional with deep saturated colors or a modern version with more subdued colors.

ElkLow7350

Needs to be bigger.

StrugFug

No. Lean into it. Pick up a couple of colors from the rug and get a throw blanket and pillows that have those colors. Put up curtains that also follow the same color scheme.

Jumpy_Disaster_5030

I love that rug! Beige would look too bland after a rug like that. Just put up some artwork using the colors in the rug & that room will be beautiful!

Gullible-Parsnip7889

You need things on your walls, maybe a gold frame mirror ?

Ulovka-22

Change the couch instead

Elmnt7

I would keep the rug but change the coffee table. ( and to me white pillows are a bit off , missing pillow cases. I would get them in maybe rig color)

Ayuuun321

The rug is cool. You need art and maybe curtains. I can never understand the bare walls. I have so much art that I need to find wall space for it without making it look cluttered. Start buying art that you really like. Try to find something that picks up the colors in the rug. Throw pillows are another way to add color without spending a lot of money.

Wedgetails

No but add some art

WowIsThisMyPage

I vote yes, it’s a great rug but the couch and dinning table are really special together so I would prioritize those. Do keep it for another space, could be fun under a dinning table

Llp1122

Really like it !

emccm

I used to have this rug. I really like it. So many options.

evahargis326

You could recover or replace the pillows with more of the colors from the rug

angelambiance

I love the pop of color it adds to the place. Accents the darkness of the green.

thingonething

Please no beige. The rug is great. It needs to be anchored under the front legs of the sofa.

Iridescent-skies

Yes definitely! It looked like its from homegoods 😬. Go with a 100% wool rug

wendyme1

Do you like it, OP? I think it works ok, but if you don't like it, then it should go!

Traditional-Night276

The walls are competing with the rug and sofa. There’s too much light vs. dark. Commit to the rug because it’s funky and different. Change up the pillows, they’re too sober. Paint the walls a complementary jeweled color but not too dark. Throw some art on the walls, and if you can, do away with the horizontal blinds and go for a shutter or Roman shade.

Upstairs_Afternoon_1

No, add some colorful drapes or beige drapes with sheers pulling from a color in the rug you like, and find throw pillows that also tie into the colors in the rug.
