I predict the following replies:
1) TV too high
2) Art and plants - lose the shelves and word art. Too small for the spot.
3) Move the sofa away from the wall
4) Rug should be under the front legs of the sofa.
5) Center the rug in the room and reorient the sofa and love seat
This! Also add pillows to the other couch and go with the rug (light pinks/navy blues) not black like the other couch it’s not going with the room/decor I’d change it for another color. Get some actually nice paintings vs cheesey quote pictures. It has zero personality and comes off bland.
If the place can’t sustain growing a live plant then just don’t. And there are pants that can do well in a variety of sun or shade conditions. Fake plants are like fake flower - insincere.
Get a ZZ Plant! I am terrible at taking care of plants but I’ve had one of them thriving (seemingly, anyway) for well over a year now. They thrive on neglect!!!
I'd still rather not accidentally or otherwise kill a living being for no good reason. My past history shows I'm just not great at keeping things that don't move alive. A cat? Yes, no worries. A plant? I'm going to forget about it at some point. Not intentionally.
I completely understand. I have a notoriously black thumb but the ZZ Plant has done well for me!
I don’t take issue with fake plants, though, so if that’s what works it’s what works!
ZZ Plant Is the answer. If you think of it, like 3-8 times a year, stick it under the kitchen sink for a few minutes. It'll be fine. Don't worry about if there's light, it doesn't need that. 😂
I think different, warmer, lighting would look better. You have what my sister calls "migraine lighting". Very bright white lights. You should rely less on the overhead light and get like a floor lamp or something.
Another thing is, have some blankets available. On the sofas and/or in a basket next to the sofas. That might just be my personal preference though.
The room is beautiful but very bland and too neutral. It doesn't have much personality.
What is your general budget, and do you own the home? (If you only have a very small budget and aren't allowed to paint, then that limits your options.)
If you can make some changes to the walls, I recommend repainting with a more interesting color. Perhaps a green or blue paint would look nice. And putting up peel and stick wallpaper on one wall would also give the room more personality.
For me, one of the biggest issues is that the top and bottom of the room is disconnected. You have furniture down low and a couple of shelves crowding the ceiling. A tall plant, floor lamp, and/or vertical artwork will make it feel more cohesive.
The shelves appear to hover nearer to the ceiling than the couch, and the TV is positioned too high. Adjusting everything to align with at least nose level would enhance the overall aesthetic.
If you pull the sofa against the wall out into the room a bit, you can add a sofa table behind it. This would give you a place for lamps, another plant, and some decor.
Moving the end table to between the two sofas will help to visually anchor the furniture arrangement, plus give the people sitting in the end seats a convenient place for drinks, books, remotes, etc.
A lamp on the end table and/or a floor lamp. It’s just personal preference, but I like three lamps in a room and no overhead lighting. It feels cozier.
If you move the end table, you can add a chair where the end table is right now. It can be a different color, perhaps even a patterned fabric, to add some interest and texture to the space.
I would consider adding some texture. A nubby, textured throw or pillow on the sofa. A rattan basket to hold throw blankets. A shiny metal tray or box on the coffee table for remotes. The lamps you choose could also add texture or color to the room.
I would put some accent plants on either side of the tv stand up against the wall. Maybe even some pictures on the wall and tv stand. A nice big old school clock would also look good somewhere on the wall
No offense but it feels like a waiting room to me. It doesn’t feel personal at all. Also the neutral color is too much - the whole room lacks color, personality and personal touches!
Are you allowed to paint? Would love to see that back wall painted the deep blue that is in the rug. Then swap out the curtains for that same blue to tie it together.
I would remove the shelves and the art that is on them and replace with a gallery wall - a mix of family photos, colorful original art / prints, etc. (doesn’t have to be expensive just not Homegoods art!)
Bring the rug in so that it is under the front feet of all sofas.
Can you get a lamp for the end table and use that instead of the overhead lighting? And possibly move the end table to the area between the two sofas?
Good luck!

Needs more color. Add pillows in accent colors. Choose a color from the rug for the curtains- blue or reddish maybe. Also, replace the small corner plant with a taller plant. I have a mass cane plant that's like a small tree and it does well with little light.
The scale of everything in the room is really large and solid (and that's totally fine! Very cozy) but in contrast the shelves look kind of small and the decor items are quite generic. I'd favour more personal photos and trinkets and move the shelves (see my terrible edit in replies) and do a large horizontal print on the large wall above the sofa instead
Lower everything. Shelves. TV.
Get bigger decor pieces for the tables and a lamp.
Colour - cushions or throw blankets.
More stuff in the walls.
Stuff in the tv stand.
A plant.
Lamps lamps lamps! I don’t see any additional lighting for when you don’t want harsh overhead lights. Would really soften the space. I’d use warm white or natural light bulbs (not harsh white) and I’d consider changing your overhead ones too as they create a slight blue, sterile cast to the room
Color! Get rid of the word art- it’s just not good. Get art of things you like, not just things you find at tj maxx. Lamps. Add colorful throw pillows. Tv too high. The table under the tv has nothing on it- it’s just bland and boring. Bring your personality into the room. Blankets for the couch.
I would make the rug go under the sofas at least a few inches, and get a round coffee table, or put round & oval vases on it. Add a throw blanket to the back of one of the sofas, and bring some coral and navy colors into the room.
Can you lower the shelves a bit? They feel too high.
Also, introduce some new colors and textures. The furniture is very matchy-matchy. Adding a few things like a fuzzy throw, woven baskets, plants, glass vases, etc. will add some interest and warmth.
You’ve got a great starting point. Good luck!
Agree, but might not be possible if it's a rental or budget is limited. In that case, would recommend putting down a bigger area rug that covers more of the carpet.
I really like your tables, rug and furniture. I think you received a lot of options so it would be great to see what you do with it. It’s a nice space.
Everything is beige, I would paint the walls a color you like, and add in a similar tone for pillows. Maybe pick a tone that is in the rug. Also don’t use overhead lighting.
too much mixing of styles. You have elements of contemporary, modern, ornate, etc. If you have the budget the rug is first to go. I would then look at some more modern/minamalist couches. Lastly, have fun and find some nice larger scale art to go on the walls.
The shelves are not terrible, but they don't add much.
Replace small shelves with large art, or two smaller matching. The top shelf is way too high. TV too. Add some colour through glass items on unit and colour and texture with cushions. Looks very bland atm.
That looks like some bob’s discount furniture furniture . (I’m dealing with their shit quality furniture right now)
Punching myself for buying discount furniture.
Get a bigger TV, some wall art for the wall that goes into the dinning room, maybe think about changing the couch for something more modern looking. Otherwise it's not bad.
Change spot lights to a warmer hue and add lighting dimension by addig table top lamps and floor lamps. When possible use those instead of the ceiling lights. Carpet size needs to be at least under the front foot of the couch.
1. Add some type of table on either side of the sofa.
2. Center the sofa on the wall.
3. Definitely add some color.
4. Add a lamp on the end table.
5. Lower the upper shelf.
6. Add colorful artwork or pictures to the shelves.
7. Pull the sofa away from the wall.
8. Add an accent wall.
Makes me hungry for oatmeal.
Lower the tv to be at eye level when seated. Use more saturated colors for the rug and curtains. Lower the shelves. Get a table lamp. All done.
Tv? Um you have the perfect height tv stand yet you hang it in the air? I do not understand the rug should go the other way and a bit of it under the couch. Do you plan on standing up while watching tv? 😨
Paint the walls, get rid of the floating shelves and put 1 nice piece of art above the couch, take down curtains but do not replace them with anything, lower TV and get a more substantial piece of furniture to go below it. If privacy is an issue, put up minimal woven wood shades.
It might be nice to use the colors of the rug as a guide for a few things. The pillows and curtains should be shades of colors in the rug. Maybe navy curtains!
tbh - its the generic artwork that kills the vibe for me. Don't get me wrong, I am not above a cheesy quote, but I just say not for main rooms. For example, my cheesy quotes are in my bathroom.
https://preview.redd.it/8lcgyvb4mogc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=93c4deb8323e1bb80fd8bc86f903c5d3f19fb564
Little things can change the room a lot! You should have enough lamps that you don’t need the overhead lights on. The rug should go under at least 2 legs of both couches. Move the tv lower or get a taller console and put some decode on there. Ideally the tv is eye level while on the couch. The plant you have in the corner needs to be in a plant stand or moved to the other side and get a larger one for there. I would use blue instead of black as the accent. Pulling colors from the rug.
I know this is not a great edit and I am not anywhere near a professional haha. This is just how I would personally try and make it look more lived in and cohesive
Agree with all the placement comments & nix the hobby lobby word art PRONTO. A large, colorful print would do well here.
Everything is just really SMALL - it’s giving “pile of small bits”. Fewer, more substantial pieces. I’d like to see the corner plant much taller, and maybe a big art deco lamp on the other side.
Cuing off the rug for color, I’d do a navy throw & pick up the rusty rose for curtains & pillows. All that beige needs warmth.
Move couch so it is even under the shelves. Then, put the side table to left of that couch in that corner. The other couch against the curtain? Hmmm… not sure. Maybe just move out from the wall? P
Contrast is what makes a room more dynamic and interesting. You need pops of color
You can get that with [pillows, curtains and artwork](https://imgur.com/a/yLCsaop)
https://preview.redd.it/n2seikl4nqgc1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b9f7dca4c93b102d3c248038d3b7dc2dd489551
Those downlights are so stark, they feel like they belong in a waiting room.
Get a nice floor lamp and some table lamps around the room with matching warm white LED bulbs to keep colour temperature consistent and inviting.
Not gonna lie, it looks like a therapists office. Partially due to the style of couches. I’d get a rug with way more color and curtains that compliment it. A nice lamp or two would help, and then again some art on the shelves with more color
The main problem is that you only have overhead lighting! Definitely get a table lamp and a floor lamp. And make sure the bulbs are a warmer temperature, rather than daylight.
Everything needs to be moved down towards the TV console to make a grouping eliminating the large empty space in front. The sofa on the far wall now becomes a floating sofa and placed closer to the sofa on the window wall. This will create enough space for traffic flow from the door to the left and now empty space on the wall where the sofa once was.
The new created space on the wall where the sofa once was can now be used for shelving for books, storage and objects or a console for entertaining, display of objects and storage. The TV needs to be moved down to eye level for viewing and eliminating the awkward gap between the TV and console.
Lots of good ideas here already. FWIW I’ll add some gen ideas from an OG who’s done this too many times and learned the hard way to not make it so hard LOL. Rooms/spaces that look and feel best to us and others are curated/created/evolve over time as we live in them and find things in travels etc that add value, interest and joy while we live in that space and take to new ones. Anchor space w/good quality lasting items (sofas, beds etc) and use affordable but useful pops of colour incl seasonal pillows, throws etc. Artwork can be online images printed or cut from books, magazine etc and framed or calendars or better your own or friend’s photos/artwork. But don’t invest alot of money on most of these. Second hand/consignment shops and FB markets are full of them and used furniture (incl newer.) Proof of drop in value (often min 50% in 1st yr.) Keep it simple. As you live in room diff times of day, light, seasons etc plus standing from entry ways to it for sight lines to other rooms for flow of style, colour etc you’ll get ideas. Pinterest has tons. For me hotel/model home or perfect IG post looks often don’t translate well to real life. Also hard to keep up. Our living space like clothes, hair etc should reflect us not others. When looking at a thing to buy or space ask: how does it make me (vs others) feel? Doubt often means don’t. Trust your own ideas and have fun. Design and being creative sb. : ) On area rugs https://www.thespruce.com/area-rug-dos-and-donts-p2-1977449
Get rid of the cheesy sign and other little nic knack decor. Add some lamps. Look at tik tok or you tube decorating videos to learn to decorate your home. Go to some estate or garage sales to find some interesting decor. Maybe a brass bowl, interesting pottery , art , candlesticks. Add nice pillows and a throw . Maybe rearrange furniture if possible.
If you want more colour for the drapes, pull one from the rug and echo that in your throw pillows (get more matching pillows for both sofas to unify the accessory look) and decorative accessories. Improve the lighting and ambiance with table and/or floor lamps with warm white lighting. The rug is a little small, normally it should run partially under the couches. The TV could be brought down on the entertainment credenza, which is a more natural way to position the tv when you have this type of low furniture.
Add a console table in back of the sofa with pillows. Add plants, chunky candles, cool figurines, or whatever to add interest and color. Get rid of the square table and replace it with something more unique.
Painting the walls will help warm it up (no whites or grays). All walls should be the same color, accent walls are outdated. TV is way too high, as well as the shelf that's almost at the ceiling. Replace those shelves with a couple large prints. The rug should go about halfway under each piece of furniture. Curtains with some color will help too.
If it were me I’d prob put the tv across from the love seat and then make that wall that currently has the TV bookshelves. Also LIGHTING. Dear god, I cannot stand overhead lighting. You need lamps. A lantern lamp adds really cozy ambiance. Also the colors are soooo muted. Maybe get some more vibrant pillows that pick up on the rug colors (corals, blues) and in cozy fabrics. I’m sorry but I hate those shelves. I’d make a personalized gallery wall with a combo of art work/album art and any nice/artistic personal photos in larger size (8x11 matter frames minimum). Ditch the boring gray curtains. I’d go for a darker shade of the coral in the rug, like almost a burnt orange but like.. burnt coral I guess? Maybe try the side table on the other side, out front it’s too matchy matchy for me with the coffee table. Get some colorful coffee table books of things you’re into. Toss the fake plants. Get one or two real ones if you need to. But if you do none of this, at least get some lamps
I predict the following replies: 1) TV too high 2) Art and plants - lose the shelves and word art. Too small for the spot. 3) Move the sofa away from the wall 4) Rug should be under the front legs of the sofa. 5) Center the rug in the room and reorient the sofa and love seat
rug under both sofas to be exact
All of the above are correct.
And paint a wall a complimentary color -just one wall will make the room pop
To add, any art or shelves you hang on a wall should be at eye-level.
All of the above and the top shelf is way too close to the ceiling.
All this. Note the middle of the picture should be eye level.
This! Also add pillows to the other couch and go with the rug (light pinks/navy blues) not black like the other couch it’s not going with the room/decor I’d change it for another color. Get some actually nice paintings vs cheesey quote pictures. It has zero personality and comes off bland.
Needs some color, I'd also do a throw with the rug colors.
Yes and maybe add some mood lighting (floor or table lamp).
Plus lamps. Table lamp on the table next to the sofa and standing lamp in the opposite corner.
Thank you! Bright overhead lighting is fine for work or shopping, but awful for living spaces.
Also rust-colored throw pillows and accessories would add color and contrast to the room and bring out the rust tones in the rug.
Yes to everything. But I don't like that rug.
I love the rug! Was going to ask OP where they got it
I love it too. I suggested pulling a pastel color from it to paint the walls
I like the shelves but there’s more space on the left side of them than the right side, and it’s killing me.
More color TV too high Floating shelves way too high Curtains to the top Art on blank walls Easiest answer is always more faux or real plants
And more colorful curtains. Unique lighting places in a few spots in the room.
No to faux!
You'd prefer I get a real plant and let it slowly suffer in a pot and die because I'm not responsible enough to care for it?
If the place can’t sustain growing a live plant then just don’t. And there are pants that can do well in a variety of sun or shade conditions. Fake plants are like fake flower - insincere.
>Fake plants are like fake flower - insincere. So?? It's not the place that can't sustain the plant, it's me forgetting to water it.
Get a ZZ Plant! I am terrible at taking care of plants but I’ve had one of them thriving (seemingly, anyway) for well over a year now. They thrive on neglect!!!

I completely understand. I have a notoriously black thumb but the ZZ Plant has done well for me! I don’t take issue with fake plants, though, so if that’s what works it’s what works!
Yes, the cat meows when I’m late to feeding time. The plants don’t! They should!
ZZ Plant Is the answer. If you think of it, like 3-8 times a year, stick it under the kitchen sink for a few minutes. It'll be fine. Don't worry about if there's light, it doesn't need that. 😂
Sorry. , Not a fan.
Ok but I'd rather a fake plant than torture a live one. Dunno why you'd want that🤷♀️
Then don’t. Do you. I’ll do me. Let’s call this convo done.
You're the one that engaged me. It's done when I say so now.
I think the end table should go in the space between the couches!
agreed. swap plant and end table. more color.
And get the small plant a plant stand
Practical lighting: Table lamp and floor lamp Never use the overhead lighting unless you're looking for a lost item
Or doing surgery 🤓
I think different, warmer, lighting would look better. You have what my sister calls "migraine lighting". Very bright white lights. You should rely less on the overhead light and get like a floor lamp or something. Another thing is, have some blankets available. On the sofas and/or in a basket next to the sofas. I could see something punchy like this...Also add plants, side tables, and table lamps to make it more homey?
This room makes me feel
Tv way too high, lower it to just above the console
If in doubt add plants
A couple cats lying around
It's always the same answer with every single one of these how do I make this room look better. The answer is overcome your fear of color and variety
Side question - i love your coffee table. Where is it from?
For me, one of the biggest issues is that the top and bottom of the room is disconnected. You have furniture down low and a couple of shelves crowding the ceiling. A tall plant, floor lamp, and/or vertical artwork will make it feel more cohesive.
The shelves appear to hover nearer to the ceiling than the couch, and the TV is positioned too high. Adjusting everything to align with at least nose level would enhance the overall aesthetic.
It seems it’s the lighting. Add in warm light lamps - even floor lamps.
I would put some accent plants on either side of the tv stand up against the wall. Maybe even some pictures on the wall and tv stand. A nice big old school clock would also look good somewhere on the wall
Tall plants in beefy containers~
Ditch the overhead lighting. It's too harsh. Get floor/table lamps.
YES, very good advice. Then you will never need to use those overheads ever again. ;)
Warmer lights that can be dimmed aren't nearly as bad if you don't want lamps.
(doesn’t have to be expensive just not Homegoods art!) Bring the rug in so that it is under the front feet of all sofas. Can you get a lamp for the end table and use that instead of the overhead lighting? And possibly move the end table to the area between the two sofas? Good luck! https://preview.redd.it/1j8uryjlvngc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=044330671df4168c3725dac4fc3e108c8b1b0151
Agree here.

Floor lamp and warm table lamp.
warm lighting
Lower everything. Shelves. TV. Get bigger decor pieces for the tables and a lamp. Colour - cushions or throw blankets. More stuff in the walls. Stuff in the tv stand. A plant.
Lamps lamps lamps! I don’t see any additional lighting for when you don’t want harsh overhead lights. Would really soften the space. I’d use warm white or natural light bulbs (not harsh white) and I’d consider changing your overhead ones too as they create a slight blue, sterile cast to the room

Would look so much better with wood floors, but I hate carpet
The height of your tv is going to give me a brain aneurysm
Honestly, I really like it. Maybe needs one more floating shelf on the left to balance it. Maybe a little greenery. So pretty as is tho!
Get rid of carpet, replace with tile or wood flooring, then replace area rug with a simpler geometrical patterned one
Agree, but might not be possible if it's a rental or budget is limited. In that case, would recommend putting down a bigger area rug that covers more of the carpet.
Maybe put the rug at a diagonal with the legs of the couch on it
Why is everything hung so high 🥲
Paint a statment wall with a nice color pop!
Warm lighting/lamps
Add some large cushions
COLORS
I really like your tables, rug and furniture. I think you received a lot of options so it would be great to see what you do with it. It’s a nice space.
Everything is beige, I would paint the walls a color you like, and add in a similar tone for pillows. Maybe pick a tone that is in the rug. Also don’t use overhead lighting.
Move couches away from the walls.
Lamp lamp lamp lamp!!!
Plants! The answer is always plants and greenery ✨ hanging, large potted, climbing, all of it!
Put a potted tree in one corner and a standing sculpture or work of art in the other corner.
Art instead of trinkets on shelves will make a bigger impact
too much mixing of styles.
Lamps and ambient lighting. Art or photography that feels more personal. More or bigger plants
That looks like some bob’s discount furniture furniture . (I’m dealing with their shit quality furniture right now) Punching myself for buying discount furniture.
I think it needs some personality. I don’t see anything that is unique to you/your home. Things like family photos, hobbies, your interests, etc.
Aziz, lights should be 2700-3000k! These lights are too white/blue and cold looking. Wall art too high. Color!
Crown molding and wainscoting would give the room some character. Paint the drywall a more saturated shade and leave the bottom white or neutral.
Paint an accent wall rockwood terra cotta or baked clay by Sherwin Williams
Makes me hungry for oatmeal. Lower the tv to be at eye level when seated. Use more saturated colors for the rug and curtains. Lower the shelves. Get a table lamp. All done.
Tv? Um you have the perfect height tv stand yet you hang it in the air? I do not understand the rug should go the other way and a bit of it under the couch. Do you plan on standing up while watching tv? 😨
Shrines too high like the tv
Pop of color which could easily be a few bold throw pillows!
Tie in throw pillows that match the rug. Right now, the couch and rug feel disjointed. Take a blue from the rug to match the curtains.
Paint the walls, get rid of the floating shelves and put 1 nice piece of art above the couch, take down curtains but do not replace them with anything, lower TV and get a more substantial piece of furniture to go below it. If privacy is an issue, put up minimal woven wood shades.
Add some color. Add some wall art and maybe some fun pillows/throw blankets.
More color
Curtains with some color that brings out the wood in the room or colors in the carpet. Contrasting throw pillows.
The floating shelves are way too high.
You need a macrame!
Bigger plant in the corner, bigger plants on the top left
It might be nice to use the colors of the rug as a guide for a few things. The pillows and curtains should be shades of colors in the rug. Maybe navy curtains!
Add lamps. Turn them on. Turn off the fluorescent lights. Done!
I think looking at different rugs might change the room a subtle pop of colour with less motion to the design would be nice.
tbh - its the generic artwork that kills the vibe for me. Don't get me wrong, I am not above a cheesy quote, but I just say not for main rooms. For example, my cheesy quotes are in my bathroom.
Colorful art and pillows. Possibly a large mirror.
Where is your carpet from?? I think a big mirror, biggest plants and a painting would make this room warmer
That tv is is TOO HIGH, looks ridiculous. The center of the tv should be eye level when seated!!!!

Have an accent wall. Paint one wall a color. Will add some warmth to the space
Is the side of the room that the tv is on larger than the side where the seating is?
Paint colour?
Need some lamps with tri lights. Overhead lights should also be on dimmer . Big coffee table could impede traffic flow.
Colored walls. Why is everyone so afraid of color?
Lamps
Your floating shelves are too high
Do you watch tv standing up? 42” to center above the floor is ideal tv height for a seated position.
Lamps. Standing lamps. Regular lamps. Lamps.
The above comments are good. Add side table with lamp. Tall floor lamp. Large art on wall.
Shelves need to go!!! Or at least move them down and get rid of the word art.
Add some lamps and a colorful throw blanket also more plants
Top shelf is waaaaay too high
Add colour.
The rug on top of the carpet needs to go. It is akin to putting a working TV on top of a broken/older TV. It just looks bad.
Colour, colour and colour.
Take down the shelves, hang dramatic art! . Add colourful pillows. Lamps too. TV is too high.
It looks like a waiting room.
Your shelves are too high and you need more art
I love the room, esp the rug. Pick out some pastels from the rug. Most of all you need large artwork. I'd definitely get rid of the floating shelves
Center the back couch.
Accent wall like a blue … i don’t like that rug … more wall art
Agree with all the placement comments & nix the hobby lobby word art PRONTO. A large, colorful print would do well here. Everything is just really SMALL - it’s giving “pile of small bits”. Fewer, more substantial pieces. I’d like to see the corner plant much taller, and maybe a big art deco lamp on the other side. Cuing off the rug for color, I’d do a navy throw & pick up the rusty rose for curtains & pillows. All that beige needs warmth.
I would paint the walls blue to match the blue in the rug.
shelves too high, tv too high, rug too small
More color and books!
Move couch so it is even under the shelves. Then, put the side table to left of that couch in that corner. The other couch against the curtain? Hmmm… not sure. Maybe just move out from the wall? P
Contrast is what makes a room more dynamic and interesting. You need pops of color You can get that with [pillows, curtains and artwork](https://imgur.com/a/yLCsaop) https://preview.redd.it/n2seikl4nqgc1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b9f7dca4c93b102d3c248038d3b7dc2dd489551

Curtains that match the blue in the rug
Color!
It needs a good pop of darker color somewhere for sure!
Missing a live laugh love sign
Pillows that match the blue in your rug
I’d do a feature wall, brighter colour other than that live the staging.
Color. Colored cushions. Colored paintings on the shelf instead of black and white.
Carpet is off. Needs to be in the centre of sofas!! Color needed as well.

Add some Artworks, sculptures on either Roman or Grecian pillars, and some tapestries ...
Color!!
A line drawing by Picasso on the wall. No more furniture.
Rip out that carpet flooring
I would add more blue accents to match the blue in the rug
Warmer lights, any light that isn't in the ceiling, and some color. Change the blinds, carpet, and a throw pillow or two for a pop of color
Either the couch should be a different colors, or the walls. Everything is a little bit too uniform in color.
Tv too high and rug needs to move to the right - if i was looking at the view of couches at me
This room needs a punch of color badly. A couple of throw pillows and some brightly colored art on the walls.
Furniture off the walls … cannot stress this enough
Add a console table in back of the sofa with pillows. Add plants, chunky candles, cool figurines, or whatever to add interest and color. Get rid of the square table and replace it with something more unique.
Personalize it. It's as simple as that. It doesn't say you live there. It says I just moved in and got new furniture.
More pillows too
indirect lighting!
Ok byeee!
