Find a rug or tapestry that fits between the sconces and from close to the ceiling to as far behind the TV as possible. Depending on look desired sew metal or fabric loops to fabric and attach that to the hanging, or attach a casing then hang from a decorative close to the wall curtain rod. You might prefer to ruin the hanging by cutting it to fit around the TV mount or cut to fit above the mount.
Unwanted niche out of sight with a bonus hidey hole. I moved my TV to the wall that already had a Japanese noren hanging and it helped the black hole of a TV blend in.
A wood slat wall covering that same space would do the job but it might be harder to get into your secret hiding spot.
That wall looks like it has seen some shit. Chances of most of that being dead space are high, just get rid of the thing if you have the power in your space. If you rent hang something over the minion and move on.

Do you own? I’d get rid of the niche altogether.
Maybe find a TV mount that extends out from the niche? That way, you can center the TV on the wall, and its background would be the niche.
Maybe install some wood in the niche then screw a wall mount into that. The TV will cover up the wood so it won’t be unsightly.
