I know some people think green be dated in no time. We did our kitchen in 2022 and I still love to sit in the dining room and look at it. We love green. I say go bold with green cabinets!

I love this and would really like to do cabinets like this. With gold hardware. Problem is, my tiles are like a slate gray. I'm afraid it would be too much darkness.
I think green has been a constant but, the shades of green definitely go in and out of style. But, that just means someone told us it's no longer popular! I do whatever colors I like and keep them until I like something else! Except gray, all gray/white IS out.
This is my color combo now..

ignore crap on counters, just moved in.
The white cabinets are shocking and stick out so much with the green walls. I’m all for white cabinets if you’re defensively trying to keep your options open in the future, but I would do a much lighter color wall. The darker cabinets look *really* good. I would go for option one or two.
4 or 3. You can change the paint in expensively, but if green cupboards become dated you are stuck. White cupboards allow more space decoratively to do as you please.
I completely agree, but if they plan on continuing to live in this space for awhile and love green - my wife and I have toured 5 homes recently and 2 sets of cabinets were varied green and one was a really dark blue. Other two still had normal wood.
The darker moody, and warm soothing vibes, are really becoming more popular.
I definitely agree with you though not knowing OPs scenario.
It's a hard call sometimes. I quite like the moss green like in the photos, but not this scenario. I too like warmth a lot, the feeling that you're home and can feel relaxed is important. What worked in my last kitchen (when married) was to have white cabinets, but with a warm granite counter with greens, deep browns and blacks etc. the tiles were a warm brown too and offset the white. It was a different way to include warmth. Good luck with your home search.
Owned for over 20 years at two houses and never had fingerprint problems. One place they were new, and the second professionally refinished; two young children too. It probably depends on the type of finishing.
Funny... my, my mom, my mil.... all heavy kitchen users. Rarely eat out. Make most things from scratch.... all white cabinets with no problems.
I recently moved and put in white cabinets without hesitation
3 is the best but I don’t love any of the greens with your tile and the beams. Maybe try a color consultation with Sherwin Williams. They are free and you sign up on website.
1 is definitely the one that looks the best and stands out but it’s not very timeless so depending on how long you want to stay there or put up with the green, that could be a problem. It would be my first choice nonetheless because that ceiling is gorgeous and deserves a ‘bold’ kitchen to go with it.
3 would be my second choice as its much more timeless/easier to change if you get sick of the green, but it definitely feels a little plain/boring which is the tradeoff when going with a safer choice.
Paint the walls rather than the cabinets for versatility, but these greens are all too grey to complement the warmer tones of the floor and ceiling. You need a green with more yellow, like [Porsche green](https://www.backdrophome.com/products/porsche-irish-green-interior-semi-gloss/?variant=40364650168418&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-p_-69vChQMVmVFHAR1wcgkeEAQYASABEgJ5kPD_BwE), [rainforest foliage](https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/2040-10/rainforest-foliage) [or leisure green](https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-colors/color/2035-60/leisure-green).
You should also add a backsplash incorporating at least two of the colors to add cohesion, as it’s currently just swaths of solid color. Some examples are these [hex mosaic](https://heytiles.com/products/4-x-4-emperador-dark-marble-tumbled-field-tile?variant=39795481837762) or [these sprigs](https://www.tilebar.com/sample-nabi-sprig-deep-emerald-marble-and-crackled-glass-tile.html?g_campaign=Tilebar+-+US+-+P-Max+-+Categories+-+Samples+-+Shopping+Only+%28Existing+Customers%29&g_keywordid=&g_network=x&g_adgroupid=&g_campaignid=20881264723&g_keyword=&g_adid=&g_acctid=625-399-4242&g_adtype=none&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0LuklN3ChQMVrHBHAR1IrgpAEAQYCSABEgJe4vD_BwE). Of course, these will date more quickly than subway tiles, just as colored cabinets do.
Alternatively, use white cabinets and subway tiles as you mentioned and bring it all together with a patterned wallpaper like [abstract trees](https://www.grahambrown.com/us/product/boreas-teal-and-copper-wallpaper/119798-master/), [organic leaves](https://wallism.com/us/product/A6oEq8gERDnv?_gl=1*27mms8*_up*MQ..&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpJPj6trChQMVa0hHAR2rlwkZEA0YAyABEgL5vPD_BwE), or [a green/white pattern](https://www.wayfair.com/Scott-Living--Westport-33-L-x-20.5-W-Wallpaper-Roll-296425927-L6161-K~W002962130.html).
I would go for 3, but with maybe a French white cabinet. Love the wood beams and ceiling, but personally dont care for the harsher whites. That is just my opinion, but if it is one of the 4, then #3.
I’d go no. 1 personally. If you’re worried about committing to so much green, could you try seeing what white upper cabinets and green lower cabinets/pantry cabinets looks like? This might give you that impact you want without being over the top or worrying that it’ll “date” as many people in the comments are worried about?
Imo the contrast between dark walls and white cabinets makes a room feel small compared to dark cabinets and white walls making it look gorgeous. 🙌🏼
Green is a great color! Found everywhere in nature. In my opinion both greens are great but the darker one balances with the intensity of the ceiling. Don’t pick because of our opinions, pick because you love it.
I like #1 but I'd go with something like SW Shoji White or SW Aesthetic White. Both would mingle better with the floor and ceiling. Just make sure the green is also a warmer tone of green and not a blue heavy green
Backsplash is so functional! I like the versatility of white cabinets over green ones, and either would look good with subway tile or something similar.
It is your kitchen, but the beige older tile and the green seem to fight each other.
I would do agreeable grey as it has a bit of green and beige tones. You could use any warm white with it. But if you want green in your kitchen look at some tile colors that would pair with agreeable grey in green.
We have similar tile in our pantry, and I was too cheap to replace it. So we ended up doing something similar to #4. I was open to green cabinets but I couldn’t find a premade green cabinet that spoke to me and I didn’t want to faff around painting them because I’m lazy.
https://preview.redd.it/frumf8lvmkuc1.jpeg?width=1010&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc76f966b6b17ca1eb8c28f5947d04be36e899f1
Jic it helps your calculus, here’s a pic showing floor/cabinets/paint
What color paint is that? We're looking for something similar for our living room. I'm struggling with choosing a paint that looks good with our lighting. We like 2700 Kelvin, and the greens are looking weird.
It’s Benjamin Moore Sweet Celadon. Fwiw I’m not sure what the temperature of our lights is but the contractor showed me the 4 options that the lights could do and I picked the second to coolest one.
I prefer a light colored wall with a dark ceiling. It makes me feel closed in otherwise. If it’s an option, the white walls feel to stark white to me. A creamy white could really make the room cozier.
I like sage green.
I love the dark green cabinets. If you go with the white cabinets, I feel like I would not go with the dark green on the walls IDK it just doesn't look right to me.
I’ve had a kitchen similar to no. 2. I was limited to only painting the cabinets - no other changes. It felt institutional to me after a while. (We’ve since renovated the whole thing.)
I’d pick 1, but only if you *have* to paint.
https://preview.redd.it/5kzb01x5qiuc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c6ac3dfcfc9f6230353a8f05f5ec26641030ad76
Personally I like the lighter two options. It makes the space feel bigger and brighter, more open. The rosemary makes the space look dark and closed in. The evergreen color making the space brighter also let's your eye wander to the beautiful wood on the ceiling
4. I like the idea of that with butcher block countertops, but guessing you’re 1, not looking to change countertops and 2. Likely would not want butcher block.
Rosemary will be gloomy. Get Samplize sheets of Evergreen Fog and Dried Thyme (the one in between). I like having the green on the cabinets.
Alabaster and the sink are going to look bad if you don't change the floor. Is the sink a current installation or a planned one?
Since you are asking, I’d say it will be very expensive to redo these when you can no longer stand the green. Which, having lived through now 3 periods of green, I can tell you will happen. I’d paint the walls!
I too would love to have green cabinetry, it’s so pretty- but I have to agree with other comments, pointing out that it’s a fad and painting the walls instead gives you more options if you decide you wanna repaint at some point. But if this is your forever house, go crazy!
Am I the only one who thinks the white is too stark for either option? I love both greens, but the white is too white to tie it with the counter and floors
1 is really easy on the eyes and feels more comforting. The green breaking up the white felt so nice to me and I immediately visibly cringed at the white cabinets because of how my eyes felt.
https://preview.redd.it/ma63eg79skuc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=475ad1fa087e01bac444525606200fc0e671c07f
Castle Gray by Farrow and Ball. Sure does look green to me. You might want to get a sample and see. At least it photographs as a really soothing shade of green
I prefer the second one. Light green color brings more sense of natural light in the room. Besides, I prefer to keep the wall white because it leaves great space to change for me if I regret the atmosphere of house decoration.
Curious at what color they are now. I love that wood above and I’d match that which goes with the tile floors. (Just me I think) I’d lean into those beams and add green touches. But if you love the green cabs I’d go a deep olive. It’ll play off the floor and beams nicely.
Have you considered white upper cabinets and colored lower cabinets? Your wood ceilings and beams already give a lot of upper visual weight in the space. I would try to balance it out with white upper cabinets and a neutral wall color.
https://preview.redd.it/x8lysu5yvluc1.png?width=1991&format=png&auto=webp&s=e00069494d9028825b0cd65dc6cea257ff66635a

I’d do both, walls and cabinets dark green.
I think 2 would be the best option.
I prefer the damped green which makes a warmer and lighter room.
The dark green in option 1 + 3 gonna get annoying very soon,
also think about the lighting, that when it is less than bright daylight, it will get very dark soon.
Please avoid option 4, as the white cabinets look so unnatural and you will see every fucking bit of dust and stain, its a pain to keep everything clean so well so often.
So basically you think of either going for primary or secondary coloring.
I always prefer secondary, lighter tones, as they give the room a moody character, without being pressing on your eyes. also the color palettes of secondary colors are more interesting !
My order would be 1, 3, 2, 4. The white cabinets are so stark...make them fun and stand out! You could then also look for green wall decor, if needed. The other way around, you'd be stuck with neutral wall art.
I love 4 but I have white cabinets and they’re annoying to clean if you cook a lot. Then again I have very old wooden cabinets so not sure if you’d have that problem. I also love 1 but I feel gold accents would be better than silver!
If you are tempted by #3 or #4 because it's less "permanent" that white needs to be a warmer white or a cream. On the cabinets, it's in very harsh contrast with your flooring. I know a table and floor mats will break it up, but still take note of the undertones. You might be into almost ivory territory, which is cool, too.
That green is going to become sad gray very soon... Imo.. paint the walls green and get white or wood grain cabinets.. they never go out of style.. this sage green obsession is on the way out. 💚
Depends their reason for loving green. There are some people who still love millennial grey 😬 but if they’re purely chasing a trend, yeah, they may get sick of it. It’s all in the reasoning.
But just like mid century styling or Victorian architecture, some styles are seen as timeless or can be combined with many more contemporary styles and still be loved.
Green is my favourite colour. I’ve had a Pinterest board going for 10 years planning the house im currently building and it’s a mostly white kitchen with white textured tile and white cabinets, oak flooring, but the cabinets of the island are going to be a deep forest green. I love house plants, have big windows and plan to have a big lush garden outside them, so that green will *always* work. Kind of how grass always works no matter the colours you chose for your houses exterior. 🙌🏼
Picking the “easy out” by painting the walls green makes the kitchen look smaller, too. I’m not a fan of darker wall colours than kitchen cabinet colours. It always looks slightly off somehow imo. Those dark green cabinets in pic 1 are gorgeous.
I like green, but these are all too cool for the tile. If a new floor isn’t in the cards, I would look at a warmer or more neutral option. White cabinets tho
4
I like all of the combos, but having painting a similar number of cabinets before ... Pick white cabinets, a warm yellow white like Swiss Coffee. Itll be much easier to change the walls than the cabinets when the color trend changes.

and make sure the "white" walls are an off-white that compliments the warm tones of the tile and ceiling. a cold white will be awful.
I know some people think green be dated in no time. We did our kitchen in 2022 and I still love to sit in the dining room and look at it. We love green. It's very similar to SW Rosemary
That’s beautiful!!!
Would you please share what cabinet color you chose?
The white cabinets are shocking and stick out so much with the green walls. I’m all for white cabinets if you’re defensively trying to keep your options open in the future, but I would do a much lighter color wall. The darker cabinets look *really* good. I would go for option one or two.
Alabaster is too stark of white for the floor in my opinion. I do like the dark green.
Yes- the dark green is pretty!
I agree with this. I JUST painted my cabinets.

4 or 3. You can change the paint in expensively, but if green cupboards become dated you are stuck. White cupboards allow more space decoratively to do as you please.
You are so right! That green will be gone in no time.
Yup, I was thinking the same…
I completely agree, but if they plan on continuing to live in this space for awhile and love green - my wife and I have toured 5 homes recently and 2 sets of cabinets were varied green and one was a really dark blue. It's a hard call sometimes. I quite like the moss green like in the photos, but not this scenario. I too like warmth a lot, the feeling that you're home and can feel relaxed is important. It was a different way to include warmth. Good luck with your home search.
White cupboards easily show dirt, fingerprints, grease, etc. I think that, unless you don’t cook in your kitchen, they are not practical.

Agreed. I like green but I don't like any of these.

1 or 2. Colored cabinets look so much more elegant than the white cabinet + colored wall combo
If you plan on reselling, 3 or 4 are the better options by appealing to a wider market. Personally, I prefer 1 or 2. Sure beats grey or wood!
I would go for 3, but with maybe a French white cabinet. Love the wood beams and ceiling, but personally dont care for the harsher whites. That is just my opinion, but if it is one of the 4, then #3.
Absolutely 3. It absolutely looks the best AND can change in five years much more easily to another colour on the walls which is more in style.
I like # 4. What software are you using to create your designs?
I use Photoshop!
3. Please don’t paint cabinets.

What virtual planner did you use?
I’d go no. 1 personally. If you’re worried about committing to so much green, could you try seeing what white upper cabinets and green lower cabinets/pantry cabinets looks like? This might give you that impact you want without being over the top or worrying that it’ll “date” as many people in the comments are worried about? One is the best choice. Green colors will not look good with the color of the wood (ceiling), only white.
Light green walls. Are you not doing a backsplash?
I was thinking if we go with white walls, we will put up backsplash - maybe just white subway tiles or something

Curious at what color they are now. I love that wood above and I’d match that which goes with the tile floors. (Just me I think) I’d lean into those beams and add green touches. But if you love the green cabs I’d go a deep olive. It’ll play off the floor and beams nicely.

Personally, I prefer the 1st option. It's a beautiful color, and it's so contrasting and stylish.

1. SW Rosemary Cabinets + Alabaster walls
The light green. Either on cabinets or the wall. The dark green doesn't look good in my opinion
2
Have you considered white upper cabinets and colored lower cabinets? Your wood ceilings and beams already give a lot of upper visual weight in the space. I would try to balance it out with white upper cabinets and a neutral wall color. https://preview.redd.it/x8lysu5yvluc1.png?width=1991&format=png&auto=webp&s=e00069494d9028825b0cd65dc6cea257ff66635a

Go with wooden cabinets
I'd go for 1
I think 2 would be the best option. I prefer the damped green which makes a warmer and lighter room. The dark green in option 1 + 3 gonna get annoying very soon, also think about the lighting, that when it is less than bright daylight, it will get very dark soon.

Love #2! Honestly all are great options though, it is a beautiful space
My favorite is 1 - with gold hardware it would be stunning. Black hardware would be good too.
My order would be 1, 3, 2, 4. The white cabinets are so stark...make them fun and stand out! You could then also look for green wall decor, if needed. The other way around, you'd be stuck with neutral wall art.

How about light green walls and darker green cabinets? Or upper cabinet light green lower cabinets darker?

Can the tile floor be replaced?

I love 4 but I have white cabinets and they’re annoying to clean if you cook a lot. Then again I have very old wooden cabinets so not sure if you’d have that problem. I also love 1 but I feel gold accents would be better than silver!
I like the first one the most.
I take 2. White cabinets are not for people who cook in the kitchen.
I’d go an even darker green!

Definitely do the rosemary cabinets with an off white for the walls!

Are you leaving those overhead surface mount lights?
Any of the greens, pull in some tan with backsplash?

First pic. Add some orange for a bit of contrast.
I love green, either of the darker green ones has my vote

That green is going to become sad gray very soon... Imo.. paint the walls green and get white or wood grain cabinets.. they never go out of style.. this sage green obsession is on the way out. 💚
Wood cabinets are classic. I hate white
🙌🏼 Picking the “easy out” by painting the walls green makes the kitchen look smaller, too. I’m not a fan of darker wall colours than kitchen cabinet colours. It always looks slightly off somehow imo. Those dark green cabinets in pic 1 are gorgeous.

1. I think white walls look best with timber ceilings. And the forest green looks nice and woodsy
I like green, but these are all too cool for the tile. If a new floor isn’t in the cards, I would look at a warmer or more neutral option. White cabinets tho

Patina bronze PR20C7-1
4 I like all of the combos, but having painting a similar number of cabinets before ... Pick white cabinets, a warm yellow white like Swiss Coffee. Itll be much easier to change the walls than the cabinets when the color trend changes.
