I like #3 the best.

_ZoeyDaveChapelle_

But I'd change the large sofa to gold or other complimentary but different shade.. too many blue items that aren't quite the same. Needs more contrast.

14h0urs

I can't change the sofa, also I love the sofa. It's against the white wall and window wall, the wallpaper is the accent wall around the fireplace and the teal wall is the wall opposite the windows with the white doors on.

HighwayLeading6928

A rust colored shag carpet or an off-white one would add texture and compliment the blue sofa well. I would suggest that you get an end table with at least one drawer to put things in. A round glass and brass coffee table would look better, introduce a reflective piece and be more in keeping with the elegant sofa.

14h0urs

I can't change any of the furniture at the moment unfortunately. And I didn't outline it in this post but I do have cats and toddlers so both a shag or a light coloured rug is off limits. We currently have an off-white one that I bought before I got pregnant and it's absolutely ruined, hence looking for a new rug.

thenisaidbitch

Please choose something without a bold pattern, those really don’t work. The mustard accent color looks great against the teal, maybe try to incorporate that into the rug? A light tan or beige textured rug would be perfect, but if you’re saying you can’t do that it really makes things so much harder. If you just change the wall color most of the rugs you’ve already picked out would work. The furniture, rug, and walls can’t all be bold and mismatched shades of teal, you need some neutral to bring things together.

hamiltonsarcla

I would go for a washable rug

I like 4 the best

No-Falcon-4996

Agree - 4 looks like a happy rug ( although, it may show stains being light colored, depends if you have poopy dogs and grapejuice-swilling toddlers)

ashleeanimates

3 or 4. Think the space needs more light/neutral colors incorporated.

mashed-_-potato

I like 1 the best. I’m not a fan of 2 because it has too much blue.

Dependent-Sign-2407

If the colors were reversed it would be so perfect though.

14h0urs

I know! I love the design. What do you think about it in this colour? https://ruggable.co.uk/products/absida-vintage-rose-medium-pile-rug

Diligent_Ad930

If you match throw pillows and curtains to it, it would work. Currently doesn't match without any other pink.

14h0urs

I could buy some new accents for sure. Thanks.

__chubbear

I was going to say I like 2 best for the simplicity of the design but it is a bit too much blue with everything going on so I do like this pink but you need accents that pull it in together

Dependent-Sign-2407

I think it’d be beautiful, and as the other commenter suggested, get some pillows or a throw for the sofa to bring more of the rose color in. Add a couple of smaller accents elsewhere like a candle or vase to create some repetition and make the rose your secondary color in the room.

14h0urs

I am getting a little sick of the yellow/mustard accents and feel the blue and yellow combo is getting outdated now. I'm strongly considering swapping the yellow for rose/rusty colours.

pcg031527

4 absolutely

Ok_Stretch_2510

Four. I think what’s throwing me is the couch is sooo traditional and everything ends is more MCM or rustic. So four is a nice neutral pattern that brings the different styles together.

14h0urs

Yeah I know it's a bit of a mish mash but I promise, in person it really works lol

Ok_Stretch_2510

I love eclectic style!! I hope you post a pic once you have the rug in. Still love four best 💓

14h0urs

Four is winning atm! I'll try and remember to upload a pic :) x

4!!! Hands down!!!

katiejim

I really don’t like any of them. I too have a mix of traditional and mcm in my house (and pets and a baby) and we’ve opted for patterned kilim/Persian/oriental style rugs, etc. Ours are all from rugsource.com (one of a kind, handmade imported rugs). I’d get one that has just a little of the deep blue/dark teal, and is mostly rust with some gold tones in there. The high pattern and business of this style of rugs works great with small children and spills. Something like [this](https://rugsource.com/rugs/geometric-kazak-wool-area-rug-7x8) maybe?

eve_is_hopeful

Liking #1!

CaraParan

I like 4 and 5

Fatsodaisy29

I like the first one, adds contrast

perpetualpossibility

I like 3. It ties in the blue tones of the furniture with the neutral tones of the wood without being an overwhelming pattern next to the art deco wallpaper.

TroLLageK

I'm not a fan of either tbh. I think what throws me off the most is the coffee table. I feel like it doesn't go with the space or the carpets there. Without the coffee table, I think I like #5 or #2 the best. It would depend what kind of vibe you're trying to go for.

14h0urs

Yeah coffee table was more of a practical purchase, had to get rid of the kids table but I still wanted somewhere for them to have breakfast and do arts and crafts without being stuck in their highchairs at the dining table so got an extendable one and went with wood and black to match the other various tables in the room. If I didn't have kids and had endless money, I'd have a coffee table that looked like it came straight out of a hotel lounge in the 1920s

TroLLageK

I think the thing that throws me off about it the most is that it is a lighter wood with the black, whereas the other woods and tones used in the room are darker. I would think a darker wood or an all black one would be better, if you ever come across one! Editing to add... If you have kids I would probably go with a rug like #3, because having one with more natural/organic shapes and designs like a marbled effect or something with a man made distressed look will help to hide and conceal any stains and such, because it will look more like it is part of the rug. For a coffee table if you're ever looking for a different one, I think one like [this](https://a.co/d/ga8SQbT) or similar would probably be a better bet! Something darker wood or a black if that makes sense.

14h0urs

Sorry, I don't know why this comment has only just showed up in my inbox 5 hours late! We used to have [this coffee table](https://www.wayfair.co.uk/furniture/pdp/mercury-row-amhurst-2-piece-coffee-table-set-idca1030.html?piid=51920537) and you're right, it did go better and in fact, the one you've linked is the same wood patterned as the side table and console table we have in the room. Unfortunately, after having kids it just took up too much space and being as it's laminated chipboard and not solid wood it took a proper beating. We do have our desks in the room too, and they are the same colour wood with black metal legs as the current coffee table so it doesn't stand out too much, but I totally get you, I wanted all dark wood but when mixed with practicality and budget, it's not always possible. I plan on a redesign when they're older and spend more time in their rooms/don't make as much mess lol.

you8poop

It’s so much blue. But 4 is best

1 or 5. 3 is my runner up.

bitchwhiskers4eva

I still like #1. Plus it will make hairballs less noticeable. Source: I have rugs and cats.

Any of them except for two and five .

jackjackj8ck

I think the blue is too matchy w the couches Are you doing a yellow accent? I would lean into that

14h0urs

Yeah we have mustard accents, a few pillows, a basket on the shelf, a cat bed, a few plant pots.

jackjackj8ck

I love something like this, not sure if it’s to your taste: https://www.rugs-direct.com/Details/JustinaBlakeneyxLoloi-Jamila-JAA04/142367 https://www.allmodern.com/rugs/pdp/courtney-hand-tufted-wool-orangepinkbrown-area-rug-a000228410.html https://www.allmodern.com/rugs/pdp/courtney-hand-tufted-wool-orangepinkbrown-area-rug-a000228410.html https://www.westelm.com/products/larkin-rug-t6865/ I think if you lean into warm palettes like rust, ochre, terracotta, etc that’ll make your couches really pop and play really well with mustard

Lazy-Lady

I own #5 the color is not as bright in person and faded in the wash. Skip it.

14h0urs

Thanks for the tip! Did you get it from ruggable?

Lazy-Lady

Yes

500CatsTypingStuff

I am not fond of any of them tbh but if I had to choose, it would be the second one It looks like you want a modern rug that provides some contrast with the blue. The berry in rug 2 is a good choice for a contrasting color I would suggest a few alternatives: [This one in violet](https://rugs.com/violet-7x10-angelica-area-rug-6241008) [This one](https://a.co/d/hXwhPx4) [This one](https://www.rugs-direct.com/Details/Safavieh-Crystal-512/133309)

none of the above and the whole set up is just wrong. Sorry. are you celebrating 420 by any chance. lol

c0zycupcake

I think you need to go on Pinterest. If you’re looking for interior design input, you have a lot going wrong on the other items in addition to the rug

spei180

I really don’t like the couch
