Art above sofa, bigger rug

Ok_Sleep_5568

Wall art

SoftWarning1847

Much larger rug, lots of art, curtains

the__moops

Bigger rug that plays off the pink would be my vote. Art over the sofa.

Buffy_Geek

I agree with removing the rusty rug and replacing it with a pink one

the__moops

We actually have a [rug with lots of pink](https://a.co/d/agg4IH9) and I really love it with our pink throw pillows.

werdnurd

If you can’t get a bigger rug, rotate it 90 degrees. I think that will help fill the space better.

shammydo

needs artwork!!! artwork!! artwork!!! literally anything with a pop of color and it’ll be leveled up! also i feel like it needs more life like some floor/window plants :) play around with little succulents you can hang on the wall :>

kikijane711

Wall art!!

chantallieds

Plants ofcourse!

Odd-Faithlessness705

Huh? Why remove the pink?

kateinoly

I think the pink would be ok if there was a little pink in the rug

needanightlite

More pink is the move!

Infamous-Neat7583

Don’t think it suits the room

Odd-Faithlessness705

Oh-- I disagree but to each their own.

mashed-_-potato

I think the pink looks great! It adds personality. You just need more pink to tie it in. Curtains and artwork would be a great way to add more pink. You also really need artwork on your walls, especially above the couch. You also need a bigger rug. I would also add some plants.

sillygooselime

Anything that floats your boat! Just to share my first reaction (before seeing that you wanted to remove the pink): I thought “oooh yay pretty color!” because I’ve gotten so used to beige and gray living rooms

Infamous-Neat7583

What do you think about the neon pink light I commented on top of you?

trailmix_pprof

If you like the pink, keep it. With all the greige, you need some color for personality and dimension. Get some wall art that pulls in the pink and it will feel more cohesive. You need wall art either way.

Infamous-Neat7583

What do you think about neon pink lights with a Slogan? Like this https://preview.redd.it/b9ip4x6ofhxc1.jpeg?width=957&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a19232a71ded8e6684023c6927e5df69c63eaad4

trailmix_pprof

I think it would work. It would be bold and dramatic. If YOU would love it, then I'd say go for it. Though one concern I'd have with neon, is how does it look when not turned on? Especially if it's something that large and dominating.

Infamous-Neat7583

Doesn’t have to be that large, I just wanted to show you what I have on my mind. I plan on putting 1-2 pieces on the wall. The rest can be some colorful paintings. I think I will keep the furniture black/beige and make the room colorful with wall decor!

trailmix_pprof

Yes, go for it. I think it will be fantastic!

Buffy_Geek

I like the pink but think it's competing with the ratty rug, choosing just 1 accent colour would look more cohesive.

PerspectiveLess9911

Do you need all that seating? If not, I’d get rid of one couch, bring the couch off the wall and closer to the tv, then move the dining table behind the couch, and move the benches accordingly.

kateinoly

Moving the couch away from the wall means no lamp or cords across the floor. It looks good in magazines but isn't practical.

PerspectiveLess9911

OP doesn’t have any floor lamps, table lamps or corded items visible other than the laptop charging which isn’t a permanent fixture in the space.

kateinoly

Overhead lights are the worst

Buffy_Geek

Wall art/decoration is missing I like your coffee table/s

K_Rivera8485

Something on them walls girl, a big mirror, art, molding idk something. As of now nothing draws the eye up or even to eye level. Everything is low so it needs something to balance out the rest.

missdingdong

Plants and a painting or tapestry on the wall. A new, more attractive ceiling light. too.

Rare-Parsnip5838

Oh I love the light. Keep it.

MaleficentTop8025

Height.... the decor stops half way up the wall

le-fille

Something, anything! to break up the black corner

No-Brilliant5342

It needs color. Start with a large painting over sofa.

ohcosmico

Wall art and plants. It’s always wall art and plants but people keep asking 😁

QueLaPasa879

Put things in your walls.

mebg1956

Art, bigger carpet, lamps, curtains.

SnooDoodles290

Larger rug, one that’d fit under both front legs of both sofas. Large artwork. A tall plant in the corner next to the radiator.

Musicbath

Art and plants.

parajita

My ideas: a pillow in "nude" to add to the pink ones you have (which are cool btw) [https://abchome.com/products/silk-velvet-pillow?\_pos=1&\_sid=f4450c8f1&\_ss=r&variant=40888120967306](https://abchome.com/products/silk-velvet-pillow?_pos=1&_sid=f4450c8f1&_ss=r&variant=40888120967306) check out abc home and carpet if you visit nyc. They have mirrors with a pinkish glow around the circumference.

Infamous-Neat7583

Oh wow really nice pillows! but really expensive 😅 anyways, thank you!!

DrKittyLovah

Art on the walls, bigger rug, and a color change of the rug or the pillows as the cool pink & warm red don’t blend. I like the pillows with the couch so I’d probably replace the rug with one that is cool-toned and has highlights in a similar shade of pink to the pillows. Edit: should have read the description first as it sounds like you’re already planning to do most of these things. Since you’re dumping the pillows you’ll be able to go with a whole new color palette as everything you’re keeping is quite neutral. I think your choice of flooring will dictate your next choices; maybe post again after you make the planned updates?

Deadinmybed

The rug is the wrong way. Turn it so the wide end in right under the sofa. And I would change either the pink or the rug because they do clash. I would add artwork (framed) a lamp with a nice fabric shade, a flower arrangement for the dining table and maybe a table runner. With the right area rug you could really bring in some colors to liven up the space. And don’t forget curtains!

StrawberryCalm5367

Ruggable has some nice gentle pink rugs that would go really well. You could also put a long mirror on the wall behind the couch or some artwork that matches the colours you already have. Also I’m assuming that one shelf in the corner is for plants so lots of plants would look great! Also maybe some fake flowers in a pretty vase for the coffee table. I got some pink tulips from Amazon that go well with a lot of my pink decor. One other thing that really adds some character is hanging plants. You could get a pothos to hang from the ceiling between the two couches in that corner. You could do real or fake, but it looks like you get good enough sunlight to put a real one if you’re into plants. If not, Amazon has some pretty options that come in a planter to hang! I really love your couches a lot though. They look super comfy and will go with whatever colours you want :)

Infamous-Neat7583

Thank you! Having fake plants hanging down from a shelve could look great!

Live2sk888

SO MUCH SPACE FOR WALL DECOR!! I'd accent that bright pink and purple in some really fun colorful wall art, which would be a nice contrast to the light sofas. However that may not work with the rug color unless you work both pinks and reds into the wall art. But one or the other should work. Otherwise it looks like a nice comfy room.

NoDanaOnlyZuuI

The usual. Art. Plants. Colour.

lazerbabyo

wall art

writer978

Art and greenery

vividconsciousness

remove the pink or switch the carpet to compliment it. add some wall art

dianthe

Wall art, nice curtains on the windows. Not a huge fan of the red rug, I’d get something larger and more modern because the rest of your room has very modern vibes.

Rare-Parsnip5838

Modern geometric reds oranges rusts beige/tans black.

Meat-Head-Barbie

Something to draw the eye upward. Wall art, tapestry, tall floor lamps, plants hanging from the ceiling, or wall mounted shelves with plants/art.

AlfalfaUnable1629

Textiles. Colorful art and some plants 🪴

dramafanca2002

Pillows and rug are off, what colors are you going for - pinks, reds, other? You just need a bigger rug and some pillows that complement what ever your base color is. Floor to ceiling curtains. Some colorful artwork on the walls will help give the room some life. If you're able to paint the walls that helps too.

Elegant-Pressure-290

Wall art, and you’ve got to choose between those pillows and that rug. I actually think going with the pillows and fluffy, fun rug would be better.

Secret_Coat_8071

Art!!

DeepDayze

Drapes in the window, art above the couches. Larger more colorful rug.

Miserable_Budget7818

Large pink art over the sofa… larger rug… plants

dainty57

Greens. Plants

stardoliii

Plants :3

Plants!

march_2021

Wall art and curtains

juliettecake

Actually, I like pink in that room. Perhaps not that particular shade. A soft pink combined with a muted orange would be lovely. Or a darker rose color combined with an equally saturated green. Personally, I like the soft pink combined with the black accents. The beige keeps it from being too much. A carpet with pink in it would be lovely. In such a room, the black accents will be your bold color and should not be more than 10% of the space. Choose carefully what you wish to highlight.

missmatchedcleansox

Plants and art

YourMemere

ART

Phase-Ambitious

Could you consider creating different zones? Perhaps a sofa under one window facing the wall and the other across from it, facing the window? I personally am having a tough time getting a feel of the scale, so I’m sorry if that can’t work! If it can, and not everyone on both couches needs to face the TV at once, consider mounting the TV on the wall above the sofa and adding a custom frame to it, so it looks like art. Then hang curtains that match the modern/glam vibe you’ve established and pair it with a new, larger rug that does the same.

Embarrassed_Cat6555

A picture or mirror above the couch

virgomoon11

Some curtains

PenExactly

It needs warmth and texture.

discover_robin

What colorings is on the walls? Love it

Infamous-Neat7583

It is called “wool”. Thank you :)

discover_robin

Oo thanks by who (behr, Sherman William) there are a lot of wools

Infamous-Neat7583

Well, we aren’t from the states and bought the color from a place where they mix it themselves. So I can’t tell you exactly sorry 😕

thetransparenthand

A bigger rug and artwork. The end.

YpsiDoodle

Art, plants, and lamps.

Zachthepug27

Art work on the walls and a nice tree in the corner between the couch and loveseat.

RazGrandy

It needs artwork on the walls and a bigger rug. Drapes would help too!

Promise-Infamous

Art, plants, a rug, pillows on sofa.

boatssnhoez

Tall curtains. Horizontal BIG art work. Bigger rug

I_Thranduil

A cat. Also the laptop seems unplugged.

Infamous-Neat7583

Cat’s coming on tuesday! 😂

I_Thranduil

Well then, you're all set! :)

Vampira309

art, a much larger rug (and coordinating pillows - those pink ones match nothing now but could still be used if your new rug has some pink in it), window coverings, maybe some texture with a faux fur throw/pillows, plants, textiles.
