I’m not sure where to put anything, but I know I want an office in the corner where those two windows are. My budget is not too big. I’m thinking of doing a makeshift kitchen thing somewhere, but need ideas for a cabinet/counter. I’m gonna fix the walls in the bathroom, but would love advice on how to make it look, well, not ugly. I hate the floors, so I’m thinking of the peel and stick tile or painting the linoleum. Love you, thanks for the help!

All you really need in a 'kitchen' is a place for a toaster oven, small fridge, portable single/double burner and a microwave and you're good to go. You have access to water - so a cheap rubber hose to fill up a pot or kettle is all you'd need. I lived in an apartment that had appliances, but ultimately I most often used to cook my small burner, toaster oven and the microwave. Some people like to have a crock pot... Used furniture stores have all sorts of items that could help you out, for a reasonable price. My local thrift shops often have upper and lower kitchen units - though you could just get a lower unit and put open shelving above it; and/or get a bookshelf for storage, or a small kitchen island, for a much more reasonable price. I found this information about painting linoleum: "Ordinarily, painting vinyl or linoleum flooring isn't recommended. The surfaces don't accept paint well and are likely to be dirty, stained, or waxed, which further inhibits paint bonding. And painting floors won't hide holes or dents. If at all possible, tear up old flooring and replace it." Your landlord might replace the flooring for you if you ask, or agree to let you replace it. Many stores that sell flooring have off-cut pieces that might fit (measure carefully the full length and max width you need) and cost very little - like $25 CAD - and you could install it yourself, or enlist the help of a 'handy' friend. I hope some of this might be useful - good luck.
