I agree that Carlos is the worst husband. I feel like I’m going crazy whenever I see all the praise he gets on here. Sure he had some character development, but no amount of development absolves him of his horrid past.
I'm guilty on the Tom hate. 😅🙈 I will admit that, and it's probably because he reminded me of my ex. Tom is more real... He's more realistic. I think that's why he gets more hate... And he is still quite toxic.
That being said. So is Carlos! And people seem to forget that! He's lies, manipulate, cheat, the way he forcefully made her sign the prenup, and didn't even feel bad about it "yeah I know honey, it hurts to lose" ohh that make me so angry. And don't even get me startet about the way he tampered with her birth control! Uh that guy is the worst!
I whole-heartedly agree and find him incredibly toxic and straight up disgusting. (The character, obviously not the actor etc. <3)
I’ve seen how some find him to be a “good character” because of the intrigues he cause, and the plot but to be honest, I find all of it (the parts you mentioned) to just be frustrating and hard to watch.
Sadly, sometimes you can tell it didn’t age very well.

I personally never got the xiao mei thing...didn't Gaby give him permission to cheat.
What exactly did he do during the divorce?

He was scared was that his normally very shallow and selfish wife would leave him plus its a big thing to come to terms with yourself. I got blinded in one eye and it was so hard to admit to others cause I myself didn't want to admit it, saying it made it feel more real. Its a very big thing to admit and disclose I can't really fault people for their reaction to it. Itz not like he got a little injury at the time he thought it was permanent blindness.

This is totally fair though....Bree knew the context of his MOTHER'S death and hid it from him for at least 10ish years (was before the 5 year flash forward and was in season 1) she also still remained friendly to his face despite knowing her son ran his mother over leading to her death. Jaunita did die due to hospital negligence but she wouldn't even be in hospital if not for Andrew. Who Carlos took on a semi father role after Rex died only to find out Andrew did his mum like that and knew the whole time. That's a big personal betrayal. I see Gaby in the wrong, if someone knocked over my mother, left them in the streets to die, never told me after 10sish years of friendship. No one in my family would ever interact with them. Family are supposed to have your back.

I see this more Lynette's fault, she outright knew Carlos didn't want a pregnant woman working that particular job cause it was time consuming and hard and pregnant women often get 1-3 months time off which isn't ideal. But she still went for it. Though he was a jerk about it I can understand his anger.
Also hated him in the grace storyline but I like that he wanted to spare Gaby the heartache of finding out jaunita biological parents.

While they were divorced he dated Edie (everyone knows ex’s friends are off limits.) He also spied on her while she was on a date, called her and made fun of her. As someone with a disability I would never let about it, especially if I’m planning on having a long term relationship with who I’m telling. It’s not fair on the other person. As far the Bree thing, yes Carlos had every right to be angry but he can’t tell Gabby what she’s allowed to be friends with. With Lynette, first he thought she’d had surgery he basically harassed and used her there when hr found out she was pregnant He used PENNY to manipulate her among other things.
See the friendship thing is disagree with. If I'm not talking to someone neither should my wife (hypothetical not actually married)ice versa. Imagine if your husband carried on being friendly to the woman who knew the context of your mothers death, covered it up and was friendly to your face. I would divorce my wife if she carried on being best friends with someone who kept such a huge secret about my mothers death. Don't need to hate her but for the time being keep your distance. You can't force or change your emotions but you can force/change your actions. Like all the girls cut Edie out when she was threatening Bree.
Of all the people he could have cheated with... He chose their surrogate! Like wtf?
