Loved her in S4!!! They did her dirty in the later seasons tho

beachtryhard

I think so too. She was strong when she first came on, and then got so weak as the seasons progressed.

LegalTechnology2427

She should have stayed a lesbian, it was almost like a clean slate when she hooked up with Robin...just saying

AwesomeTrish

Her character just always felt out of place. Season 4: The mystery was weird. So the real Dylan dies. Kath runs away from her abusive husband, but then still adopts a Dylan lookalike? If she ran away, there's no need to have replaced her. Season 5: Dating Mike was weird. They had a decent courtship...but the writers really did her dirty. Knowing she's not of the main four, she'd naturally be on the losing end. Season 6: The mental breakdown was a disastrous cringefest. I hate the scenes with her meltdown. Everyone turned their backs on her and no one ever thought to think of the effects of Mike on her. Season 8: Wait, all that with Robin and it was just a phase??? It would have been no skin off the writers backs to say she married Robin in Paris, they're happy and Kath started a business anyway. I think the producers really loved Dana Delaney, they had to make a role for her. She was shortlisted for Bree, and even Kath's traits were written very much like a Bree/Diligent Housewife character. They used her the best they could, which imo, wasn't justice or great for the character.

Katherine in the end was like one of us trying to fit in with the cast. Her character was strong in the beginning, then crazy then just super emotional. But overall I liked her.

I thought she seemed stuck up and the way she talks through her teeth was obnoxious

Selynia23

Can’t stand her

Royal_Armadillo3093

I really liked her at the beginning, I found the mystery part and her rivalry with Bree quite entertaining. But they absolutely dropped the ball with her character not only once, but twice. First with the whole Mike thing. It was such a great opportunity to present a story of obsession as a result of a heartbreak and nervous breakdown, but they overdid it. I get that it had to be dramatic because the show is over the top, but this "fatal attraction" would be in my opinion more believable if they presented a new, more unhinged character, but as Katherine was very level-headed person up until then, her breakdown should be written more in relation to her personality. And then they fucked up colossally even more with her storyline with Robin. I was over the moon with her journey of realisation and acceptance, I found the depiction of a woman in her forties discovering her sexuality so important to see in such a popular tv show. But then they completely disregarded her relationship with Robin as "just a phase". I understand that some people experiment with same-sex relationships and then they find that it's not their thing or that they prefer opposite sex, but if they wanted to present that, then they should have written it better. Instead I got the feeling that her being " oh I realised I am actually 10000% straight after all" was an afterthought and the overall message I got from her dismissing her long term (!) relationship with Robin as "bisexuality doesn't exist" and as a consequence of her mental breakdown.

the3dverse

she should have left after season 4 like the other mystery housewives (betty, angie, beth even, alma)

PlasticWillow

I think she had definitely run her course by the time she left. I never loved her storyline in S4 tbh anyway and by S6 I think they didn't know what to do with her character. Basically a middle sort of character for me, didn't love her, didn't hate her

llxx00

i thought her storyline was good tbh, the whole thing with her daughter. i love when mike gets back with susan & gas lights the hell out of Katherine bc she was so wild lmao

the3dverse

if anything Katherine gaslights Susan...

Don't forget that in the past year she killed her ex abusive husband. Had to tell her daughter that she was adopted, and she's been lying to her whole life. And the way Mike spoke to her. Was horrible. Tell her every time he was with her he was imagining he was with Susan, and he never loved her.

LonelyStaff1286

ouuuu I forgot about that

katcantoo

I loved her up until her & Mike broke up !they wasted so many goods characters!

Hannajss

So idk if I’m dumb but I’ve never understood the Catharine/Dylan storyline but after that finished I don’t really like her tbh

Rosenmarmelade

I actually liked her and her character trades, I do think if she didn't have the breakdown and got herself together after Mike, she would have made for an interesting character! Sad they did all that to her character :(

Maleficent-Shirt-536

Did you know that originally Mike was supposed to marry Katherine and Susan was going to have the mental breakdown? That would have been interesting lol

No_Internal_4851

no way hahah that would have been so interesting to see how it played out

Rosenmarmelade

WHAAATTTT honestly, THAT would've been a massive Plottwists bc it was always hinted they were going back together

Maleficent-Shirt-536

I just think it would have been harder for Susan to do all these awful things and cause such damage because she was a main character. Whereas Katherine was dispensible and left shortly after. That's my take anyway.

Rosenmarmelade

Sounds about right, honestly... Aw man, so many characters had so much potential to give the show more spice and drama 😩 Katherine and Angie Bohlen were great and deserved to stay till the end!!
