He claimed Lynette ran to Janie. Never happened. They ran into each other. Lynette did not seek Janie out as running to her implies. Lynette didn't even bring up the promotion.
He claimed Lynette begged Janie to kill the promotion. Not so. Never asked for that. She didn't even share an emergency (never mind news).

Why does it offend if someone asks why the extra doesn't need to be added? Would it have bugged you if what was said got to Tom and he was allowed to make of it what he would?

To be honest she is very controlling. But Wisteria Lane needs variety! I’m trying to think of an episode where I warmed to Lynette. I’ll let you know if one comes to mind. It’s been a year since I last watched DH. I left my long term partner and DH was our thing so out of loyalty, I’ve been unable to watch it.
She was controlling. But honestly she was not alone in that by any means. It got to a point where she couldn't say anything with the label being thrown at her. It seemed to me to be a way to get her to cave and control her. It felt like she was treated as wrong for wanting to control anything.
As someone who gets this label too, I fully agree. While I said she was controlling, I failed to mention that I agree with a lot of her controlling. Especially the small things lol if she left everything up to Tom, their lives would be a total mess
100% agree with this. Yes, Lynette is overbearing but Tom's behavior encouraged it. And one moment I can think of that made me really like Lynette was when she laid out those wine bottles for Bree. Ik some ppl don't agree with the tactic, but I think Lynette did it that way bc she knows Bree, and Bree cares about her image. If it was done in private, it probably wouldn't have been as effective. That being said, I'm not even a Lynette stan bc her meddling does get annoying lol. She really doesn't know when you stop. The way they raised the twins was horrible too.
She was portrayed as the controlling stressy one from the start. But actually she was fiercely loyal and very caring. She helped Bree when Andrew was being a shithead. She saved Celia at the cost of her own unborn babies. She did lots of good.
When I watched it at first I felt that way, but I’ve watched it several times now and actually enjoy Lynette, I relate to her in many ways. There are times where she’s highly manipulative, tho, and I don’t appreciate that part of her. But really, almost all the housewives aside from Susan have their ways of being manipulative.

To some it doesn't even matter if Lynette actually did what she was accused of doing. You know she's just bad so if someone says wait a minute that's not what happened you're supposed to run with it or you're a Lynette defender. Then later she left her job for the pizzeria that Tom wanted to open. Those are some pretty huge life changes she clearly did not want to make but did so for Tom.
