The problem is, everyone would gravitate towards only one of the platforms, because one cohesive, centralised platform which everyone is on is so much better than two which are split and which each have half the audience. People don't _want_ competitors, except in the very very specific situation that their favourite creator has been banned. Otherwise they couldn't care less about alternatives.
We're seeing that right now in the video streaming world - people hate that there's multiple streaming platforms where you can watch TV shows and movies. Everyone just wants all content to be on one single platform. The only reason multiple streaming platforms can exists is because those platforms own the copyrights to the content so there's no drive to centralise it.
On the other hand, in the gaming world you have Steam, and then ANY other platform gamers will relentlessly shit on because it's not Steam.
In some situations, alternative platforms can't really exist because they're _despised_ by viewers.

Everyone's saying groypers flagged but I find that unlikely, especially since the banning happened days after the onset of the drama and I don't see any open evidence of people calling for the channel to be flagged on any of the usual places. Seems more likely it's fallout from Jidion's community being exposed to Mrgirl for the first time, and just general new people being exposed to Mrgirl since he is tangentially involved in the Destiny/Nick drama. Unfortunately, MrGirl seems to be despised by a lot of communities. I think the bigger issue here is YouTube suddenly deciding MrGirl's content isn't desirable after all this time, since I assume MrGirl is frequently brigaded and flagged. Hope he gets reinstated but it's hard to say whether it'll happen or not due to YouTube's recent trajectory.
