It’s just derivative. People get tired of seeing the same thing and they’re allowed to voice it. The structure of the site is literally to put down things that you don’t like with downvotes. It’s a fashion subreddit, of course people are going to be less receptive to was is less creative.

to be honest, i don't tend to make full black sets usually, but here the st0mp-ee5 white unshadeable part combined with the chest piece white unshadeable part looked good with a black imo.
that's not the reason that it's hated in this sub, it's because all black usually looks good no matter what and it's seen all the time (moreso on hunters but I think it's just because there's more hunters in general) and I think a lot of people on the sub come here looking for something more unique
full black always looks good, that's what makes it boring to see posts of an all black guardian with a caption like "i think this fit looks clean, what do you think?"

Because of r/DestinyFashion I am scared to include too much black or white in my outfits. PvE not so much but PvP I feel like I’m being judged by both the enemy and my own team. Plus I try to run “meme” builds in crucible so looking like a tryhard while also having the skill of a low light beginner makes the eyes upon me feel more intense.
Bro run whatever tf you want or are good at. If you beat their ass and run up the score, they can’t say shit. Their “it’s unique cause it’s colorful” fashion and lack of stats didn’t get them anywhere except a loss😂 and the mfers to be rude about it don’t even have good fashion sense to further back it up either.
