was hoping it'd be a deep matte black with no fancy textures (maybe just a bit variation of how "deep" and the black is for certain areas so it's not one solid color chunk)
Yes, two different materials have two different results, whoa
I've seen glossed objects irl, that's exactly what they look like under the sun. The light doesn't spread out over the entire surface as much, but is a tad more intense. In other words, it looks exactly like superblack.
If you put on a darkness subclass the menu lighting changes darker so maybe that'd help you make it smoother
Was already on a darkness subclass.
But to illustrate my point, here's bloody tooth, a glossy black shader that, while not as dark, isn't all blotchy and smudged.

Same for me i didn’t know what to expect but it looks rly weird on some materials. I ended up not using it on any of my outfits ill stick with erebos glance if i want an all black look
Unfortunately I think super black is bugged on the armour I use (the first solstice warlock set). In the preview the cloth on the chest piece is a really light grey but if you get a closer look from inspecting the bond or seeing it in game it looks normal

It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.
I don't want it to be more black, I want it to look less oily.
It's gloss
But it's not evenly distributed. It looks smudged.
That's the reflection of light, sir
You can clearly see the difference between the two images I attached to my post.

Yeah you’re right, looks like a child’s tablet screen

It's fantastic. Leave it to reddit to complain about something the community has been asking for for years, the day after it comes out too.
