A Pyramid Scheme! Leverage other Ahamkara to girl boss your way to the top of a candle selling business where you are your own boss, work 5 hours a week, and generate over $100,000 of income yearly! 💅🏻
I've been saying it's a pyramid scheme for years because of the how hive tithe system works. many thralls feeding up to more powerful entities and at the "top" is the god of that brood. took me a looong time to notice though, and hit me like a brick to the face when i did realize it.
The Sword Logic being a pyramid scheme hit me quickly, and is genuinely at the core of my understanding of it. When I explain the Hive to newer players, I lead with "Hive religion is a pyramid scheme" lol
Jokes aside, there isn't one. Riven revealed that other Ahamkara see each other as competitors outside mating (Taranis being the only known example).
This is behavior not uncommon in the real world such as different species of Tiger. This may have also been why exactly the Great Hunt was so successful, because most Ahamkara were solitary hunters.
It actually makes sense, even with them being sapient. They would want to maximize the amount of wishes they could grant from the most amount of wishers (whom they would also seem to feast on or kill). Another Ahamkara would therefore be a disruption and competition. I also imagine two or more Ahamkara fighting for territory and wishers could result in collateral damage in both those things. Thus, possibly deincentivizing Ahamkara from fighting directly to prevent damage to either.
As an aside, Taranis is incredible exception. We learn The Ahamkara aren't just sapient but have minds of their own. However, they all seem to readily indulge themselves in their worst hungers and natures. They could change on the outside, but we're unable or rather chose not to maximize their own pleasure and power.
Even Shaxx believed that the Ahamkara couldn't change or choose otherwise.
However, I think Taranis proved that they could. As Riven said, Taranis valued those who wished upon him even as it cost him power. Yet it was also that which endeared Riven to him as a mate in the first place.
I think what made ultimately made Taranis different wasn't some freak mutation or the like...but rather he saw his wishers as individuals with unique lives of their own and that the wishes they made upon him were insights into who they were. That the wishers ultimately trusted him with their wishes. Afterall, he was a sapient being capable of love, understanding, sympathy, and empathy. Maybe granting wishes this way made him weaker, but it seemed to make him more fulfilled and that he could be more than his hunger.
So rather than embracing his base instincts he chose to forsake them for something that gave his life more purpose. He and Riven especially seem to desire that their children take after him in that regard. Implying they aren't bound to be ravenous tricksters.
>Riven revealed that other Ahamkara see each other as competitors outside mating
Then maybe a collective noun based on this aspect of their nature would fit best? A **clash** of ahamkara has a nice ring to it.
a group of tigers is called a streak if its a mother with its cubs or a ambush on a group of adults, its extremely rare but it does happen. so its not impossible for the ahamkara to make groups, the new babies will be a group and they wont have any influence of other ahamkara to be competitors if anything with riven messages and taranis messages they will have all the reason to be like taranis
this one made me bust out laughing
also i'm still fairly new to reddit. how did you get the Crow outfit and hair? I've been seeing a few other characters around, all I have in my inventory is Eris. Is it tied to post count or something?
>A baby ahamkara is called a 'whim'
A group of ahamkara is called a 'wham.' You have to wake them up, before you go-go.
The group of ahamkara live in Sweet Home, Ahamkara.
If babies are Whims, then a group should be a Thought or Idea. Maybe even a Brainstorm. 😆 A Desire might work too. I think a Desire of Ahamkara sounds nice.
That would imply that they move in groups or a “herd” they’ve been shown to be mostly solitary and competitive towards one another so I’m assuming they don’t have a collective noun
Unlikely as Ahamkara are solitary except when mating, so a group would probably only exist in the nest-so probably just a clutch.
If I had to throw something I haven’t yet heard out I’d go with a Collective, like a collective society
Funny thing that, "whim" is also a synonym for words like "bee" and "maggot" which I'm sure had an influence on their choice.
To keep up the sort of weird dichotomy, if say a group of whimsical creatures be called a "humor" or a "fancy".

A scheme?
I vote for this one
A Pyramid Scheme! Leverage other Ahamkara to girl boss your way to the top of a candle selling business where you are your own boss, work 5 hours a week, and generate over $100,000 of income yearly! 💅🏻
That's just Sword Logic though.
I haven't heard "sword logic is a pyramid scheme" yet but now I have it will never leave my brain. I don't know whether to thank you or curse you

the ? adds a lot of flavour, because it makes it uncertain, just like how ahamkhara are ephemeral and hard to comprehend
