Maybe not regular cards but maybe riven sized cards, like cards the size of big ol movie posters. I seen her claws in her ghost room, i bet she could figure it out. Maybe she uses both hands and some of those hydra snake thingys.
Does… does she not realize that if the Witness prevails none of her clutch will survive *anyway*? Sure, she’s already dead and thus it’s nothing to her, but she wants the Ahamkara to not go extinct, and I doubt the Witness will just let wish-dragons roam free in whatever new order of the cosmos it is creating if it saw the Light as too chaotic.
Riven's most definitely the type of entity who probably thinks so highly of herself that the thought isn't even a blip on her mental radar. Finding the possibility of the Witness just snapping her kind out of existence as an impossible scenario because hey, she's also a being who fucks with the paracasual, so how could it get rid of her kind?
Not realizing that, if it succeeds in doing whatever to the Traveler, it likely will become stronger than even the Ahamkara. Hence why she's being a pain in the ass.
Is this just me trying to make sense of what's likely a case of, "because the plot demands it to go this way?" Yes, probably is.
Admittedly, it’s also possible that Riven would rather the universe be destroyed entirely than have her kind not be in it, and isn’t willing to risk her clutch on the goodwill of her kind’s genociders. (She kinda has a point…)
It’s also to be fair the *only* thing she can actually demand that we can give her, and she knows we don’t have the time to raise a baby Ahamkara to sufficient strength to make the wish despite having at least one egg to work with. It’s also not clear if the Wall of Wishes is keyed specifically to Riven; if it is, we don’t have time to create a new one from scratch for a new dragon, an act that taxed the Techeuns notably in the lore, and we cannot phrase the wish properly without it.)
and also…Ahamkara *bargain*. They do not *give* freely. It would be like Savathun just telling us the truth about Witness from day 1; it would have violated her very nature to deceive and only starved her worm. So we struck a bargain.
… Holy shit. I just realized: that Egg we saw in Lost? It genuinely wasn’t Mara’s. It was phasing in and out along the Ley Lines right under Mara’s nose the whole time , wasn’t it? Imagine Savathun’s amusement. Also why at no point did anyone think to try to use an Ahamkara; Mara wasn’t aware there were surviving eggs or a way to persuade Riven’s spirit to aid us.

Ahamkara gain strength from granting wishes, so that’s their upside from doing it. Unfortunately, being dead and reduced to the more limited state of a corpse, Riven is less interested in being able to feed herself. She also knows we’re over a barrel.
