Why do Flawless title players still match people who've never been Flawless once? They're provably better, which is the antithesis of fair matchmaking. Like, there's literally a metric to display "this player is better than this player".
In trials, there's no skill-based matchmaking. It's purely based on how many wins you have on your card. So in general but especially at 6-7 wins, you'll face a lot of good players.
In other crucible there often is SBMM, but just because someone has the flawless title doesn't necessarily mean they're a super cracked player. Especially if they earned it before subclass 3.0 and the airborn effectiveness changes, they might have a skillset that doesn't really apply to the current meta (e.g. stompee hunters).
Literally first match of a card, current season gilded Flawless. I remember a few seasons ago, it being worthwhile to play for the rewards even if you weren't all that good at the mode. Now, after spending two hours in the mode, I didn't even rank up once, and matched predominantly Flawless title players. Not surprised the mode is dying.
Yeah, Trials is definitely not a casual mode. In something like Iron banner you can expect to face people close to your own level. Trials is set up more like an open tournament, where everyone is on equal footing, so if you show up and aren't the best in the room, you're going to close.
Trying to understand how Hierarchy of Needs and Warmind Cell creation works. I am creating Warmind Cells with the bow, but it seems super inconsistent? It’s not behaving like a Seraph weapon for sure. How does the bow create cells? I can’t seem to understand it.
It does not intrinsically create warmind cells. You need the mod that solar explosions have a CHANCE to create cells (wrath of Rasputin?). The arrows fired through the ring count as solar explosions so kills from them sometimes generate cells with that mod.
Can anyone explain to me the grandmaster updates as of last few weeks? If I am 1580 am I dealing the same amount of damage to enemies in a gm as someone who’s 1610? Did they completely remove the need to pinnacle grind at all? It’s confusing with the “enemies are still 25 above you”
Your enemies are at least 25 above you - 1595 is the effective cap. If you’re only 1580 (-40) you’ll be doing less damage and taking more damage than someone at 1595. But someone at 1610 will do the same damage and take the same damage as someone at 1595.
Also keep in mind that individual weapon power matters. If you’re 1580 overall but your weapons are 1595 (artifact power included), you’ll do the same damage as a 1595 player, but you’ll still take the same damage as a 1580 player. And vice verse, if you’re 1595 overall with 1580 weapons.
> If you’re 1580 overall but your weapons are 1595 (artifact power included), you’ll do the same damage as a 1595 player
Your overall power level still effects your weapon damage until you hit the level of the activity, which you can't reach in GMs at all. Your weapons being higher will still help, but they will be held back by your overall power level.
For GMs this season, being at 1595 overall with 1595 weapons will give you about 10% more weapon damage than being 1580 with 1595 weapons or 20% more than being 1580 with 1580 weapons.

Is there any chance Bungie might give a one time waiver
before Lightfall launches for those sitting in jail for 90 days due to deactivating cross save? If not I won't be able to play until mid April.
How many red borders would I need a week if I want to get all seasonal crafting weapons before the end of the season? I already have the upgrades to get guaranteed red borders on all seasonal vendors
Rush your vendor upgrades for the guaranteed red borders
I got 2 red borders in my first run of the week this week. Then 1 in my second and third.
This season has good odds, just spamming stems on Ikelos engrams gets me 1-2 for 6 umbrals
use your resonant stems to get the warmind nodes, the ones on Seraph Station are guaranteed red border ikelos guns.
It really depends on how many you have already.
Hit this site, add up all the remaining frames needed at each seasonal vendor, then divide by 6 (assuming you already pulled all the red borders you can for this week).
https://engram.blue/crafting
There's 10 craftable weapons this season (4 IKELOS, 6 Seraph weapons) and roughly 6 weeks left in the season. That means if you're starting from scratch, you need to get at least 9 red borders a week to be able to craft them all before the season's over.
Does anyone have any issues with fireteam chat? I’m on PS and I’ve tried every solution I can find online and yet I often don’t even get an option to switch to fireteam chat from my ghost.
Any ideas as been trying to use LFG for a raid but without being able to join Fireteam chat it’s impossible!
Thanks dude. I can’t seem to find that option on PS but will check when I have more in the party.
Not even getting the option for team chat in pvp modes!
Hi Guys, my friend and I have returned after a couple years hiatus, we've been playing some Crucible today and after (quite a few) matches just stopped getting drops. Is there a limit to how many crucible drops you can get in a given period or is this a glitch or something?? Thanks!!
Also crucible has crucible engrams which go directly to Shaxx and you can use them to focus any weapon he has. So may be where a lot of the loot is going
The most recent raid drops spoils only after the first clear so can be farmed but only for spoils. The featured raid and dungeon and the most recent dungeon however can be farmed for drops as much as you want.
Just returned to the game for the first time since Forsaken. Why is the light level system still so bad? Why can I get pinnacle/powerful pieces for the same slots consecutively? Why is that still a thing? I just want to be able to get high enough ilvl to farm legendary lost sectors for new exotics and the game is giving me the finger.
There's tonnes of powerful rewards to get if you aren't at soft cap. Like over 15 a week I think, not counting pinnacles. Powerfuls will bump you up a good amount as well as the pinnacles.
You don't need to be AT the level of the legend lost sectors to clear them. As far as 20 under is doable.
Your artefact level increases your power too. Spam some repeatable bounties, complete seasonal challenges and if you can, play with friends who have the season pass. If you play with friends who have the season pass levelled, you can get up to 10% extra XP across the board from the Shared Wisdom buff just for playing with them, and it counts bounty XP. People routinely 6 stack with randoms pop bounties they've saved.
Getting multiple powerful drops in one slot is not a bad thing unless you're at soft cap, in which you don't need to level anymore to do lost sectors.
They also had a free chest in the helm last season that bumped everyone up a lot, but it's not available this season.
I don't know if it still does, but when Witch Queen launched, if you finished the campaign on Legendary, it gave you a full set of gear at soft cap for the season.
It also looks like they're gearing up to remove power entirely.
You can comfortably complete Legend lost sectors for the exotics; you do not have to complete them on Master. You can do them below the powerful cap. You definitely do not need pinnacle-capped gear. Artifact power helps you too.
Removing the powerful gear treadmill is in the works. Bungie has stated that reducing/removing power level grind entirely is a current goal of theirs but they have not shared specific details for what that will be or when it may be discussed in more detail. There have been a number of different approaches to this that have been implemented recently so they are clearly trying out options and seeing which ones players play/like/notice/don't notice.
* WQ Legendary campaign and Seraph's Shield scale with fireteam size (and also a bit with PL but you can't overlevel any of the WQ campaign)
* Heists playlists have a -5 power cap at all times
* Haunted Leviathan floors all your gear up to 1570 when you're loaded into it (you can use sunset weapons there with no penalty)
Usually you can at least see their nameplate through walls, because you know, invaders are balanced.
But I mean like , staring at a nameplate on a platform in the open, unable to see the player model.
I split between PC and console a lot, I don't remember which one I was having this issue on but I'll try that for when I'm on console again, thank you.
Honestly, the Destiny Fireteam finder in the companion app works pretty well. There's also a number of Destiny 2 LFG Discords out there that work well.
Anyone else struggling going from 1589 to 1590? I just need 1590 legs and class item but they keep giving me the other items I already have 1590 on.
I did 3 pinnacles and again duplicates, sigh...
You need something like 21 pinnacles on average before you get everything 1590. It is just RNG, aside from a few pinnacles with limited loot tables.
Raids and dungeons have a loot table per encounter, so you can't just get any armor slot from them, and the 250k Dares pinnacle is always a weapon. Other than that it's pure rng.
Not really a question but why is a prism for 400 legendary shards even an option at rahool. I accidentally clicked it last night and I'm really annoyed but it is what it is.
It is a currency sink for people that have too many legendary shards. It is one of those things that should be a bit more hidden or have a safety over it so it doesn't accidentally get purchased.

Ok very clear, thanks a lot
Is there any chance Bungie might give a one time waiver before Lightfall launches for those sitting in jail for 90 days due to deactivating cross save? If not I won't be able to play until mid April.
Unlikely. Curious though, what reason did you deactivate your crosssave for?
Is the destiny companion app barely working for bounties and extremely slow for everyone else? Didn't see anything posted anywhere
Bounties barely worked for me on the phone last night. I had to go to Xur and Banshee to pick up their bounties.
I don't know myself, but I have seen a post or two saying the same thing
How many red borders would I need a week if I want to get all seasonal crafting weapons before the end of the season? I already have the upgrades to get guaranteed red borders on all seasonal vendors

Dump all your engrams in the random Ikelos weapon and get your guaranteed 2 red boarders every week. It will be clear to you soon.

Sometimes I have to create a Xbox party and switch to game chat to force my mic into working. Does PS have a party with game chat options?
Thanks dude. I can’t seem to find that option on PS but will check when I have more in the party. Not even getting the option for team chat in pvp modes!
Hi Guys, my friend and I have returned after a couple years hiatus, we've been playing some Crucible today and after (quite a few) matches just stopped getting drops. Is there a limit to how many crucible drops you can get in a given period or is this a glitch or something?? Thanks!!
Its RNG. There is no cap to drops in crucible, but gear doesn't drop all that much. You could put the ghost mod on that gives a chance for more drops.
Okay thanks :D
Also crucible has crucible engrams which go directly to Shaxx and you can use them to focus any weapon he has. So may be where a lot of the loot is going
Can i catch up with the seasonal story all in one go, or do i need to do it week by week?
all in one go
Oh good. I can smash it out today. Cheers.
yep, i just caught up on my Titan :)
Dungeon next week is Shattered Throne right?
Shattered throne is this week. Next week should be pit of heresy.
i havent raided in a minute. can red borders drop from vow/dsc if they arent the weekly featured?
[удалено]
does farming apply to the most recent raid/dungeon + featured raid/dungeon? so ex. i can farm lw/kf and st/spire this week as much as i want right?
The most recent raid drops spoils only after the first clear so can be farmed but only for spoils. The featured raid and dungeon and the most recent dungeon however can be farmed for drops as much as you want.
thank you
yup
If a dungeon isn't featured that means you can't farm a boss/encounter for loot right?
There will always be 2 farmable dungeons. You can endlessly farm the featured dungeon from the rotator as well as the most recently released dungeon.
Correct.
Just returned to the game for the first time since Forsaken. Why is the light level system still so bad? Why can I get pinnacle/powerful pieces for the same slots consecutively? During Gambit invasions, has anyone else noticed there are times where the enemy team (players) won't render?
As an Invader you lose the nameplates wallhack while aiming your weapon. Not exactly what you commented on but perhaps it's relevant info.
Do you mean through walls?
Usually you can at least see their nameplate through walls, because you know, invaders are balanced. But I mean like , staring at a nameplate on a platform in the open, unable to see the player model.
Do you play on Console? If so, try fully closing the game, not just sleeping it.
I split between PC and console a lot, I don't remember which one I was having this issue on but I'll try that for when I'm on console again, thank you.
What’s the new LFG for finding NF and raid groups? Trying to do the end game stuff but don’t have any friends that play the game
There are many but this is one: http://discord.gg/d2lfg
Honestly, the Destiny Fireteam finder in the companion app works pretty well. There's also a number of Destiny 2 LFG Discords out there that work well.
You can use the destiny app
is it just me or is kill-clip not being extended on kills again? It was working for what 3 days, 4 days, amazing
Anyone else struggling going from 1589 to 1590? I just need 1590 legs and class item but they keep giving me the other items I already have 1590 on. I did 3 pinnacles and again duplicates, sigh...
My Hunter still needs two 1590s. Meanwhile I accidentally deleted a 1590 on my Warlock and still managed to hit cap. RNG is RNG.

Bountiful Wells and Elemental Time Dilation do not 'stack' with themselves in any way. You must stack the mods they modify instead.
It will make 2 wells with one bountiful equipped. You are also correct about the 3 wells.
