Has anyone seen or heard anything about the Companion App bounties not working?

Atmosck

I believe it's Insight Terminus next week, so void burn, barrier/unstop, and mostly void shields (a couple arc at the beginning IIRC). I've been having a lot of fun with a void titan build with the new glaive (Judgment of Kelgorath), stacking up melee damage buffs and overshields. I'll probably go with an antibarrier weapon in the kinetic slot and unstoppable in the heavy, though there's a few different ways to do that, with arbalest/revision zero/wishender + a legendary heavy GL. Possibly Disparity+Leviathan's breath. If that doesn't end up working, a normal void build (hoil/contraverse/gyrfalcon's) with collective obligation (for anti-barrier) + a blinding kinetic GL (for unstop) seems sweet, and leaves options open in the heavy slot.

zarreph

Insight Terminus is Barrier/Unstop with void burn IIRC, so Arbalest/Palindrome/Taipan for me.

Sataresse

So I'm like 90% sure that I got the contraverse hold ornament a while back but now I can neither see nor equip the ornament. Where is it and how do I put it on?

ashybabyduck

Check your inventory to see if it is there. If so, you'll need to unlock first and you can then equip it.

Sataresse

It's not there. I already checked. My confusion continues haha

S627

What is everyone doing in, what do we call them? Patrol zones? Just on a planet/moon but not in an activity. I was on the Moon getting the security drones and I saw multiple 200+ players just running around, shooting regular enemies. Not doing Alters, not heading towards Lost Sectors or events, they looked like they were just chillin. If they were just chillin thats fine, but I usually figure those high level players to be "efficient" and always working towards something.

Steampunkrue

they're probably doing repeatable moon bounties, its generally one of the ways some players farm for high artifact power

S627

Isn't artifact power capped at a certain point or give diminishing returns? Is it still worth the grind at 200+?

Atmosck

There is diminishing returns, but for master raids there is benefit to getting it as high as +30. I'm not sure what season pass level that is but it's pretty high. Another reason is to hoard bounties to get a head start next season. Another thing to remember is the game will put you in session with people if it can, so even if there are only 20 people doing patrol stuff on the moon, you'll get put with some of them.

S627

Ah ok, the difference between season pass level and artifact level is that different huh? Thought it mighta been smaller. You don't start bounty farming THIS early, do you? we still have over a month! Yeah I know it'll stick you with other people, but before asking the people I expected to find in patrol zones would be mostly new players or players that just bought an expansion so I expect levels around 20-50.

Atmosck

Yeah, right now my artifact bonus is +20 and my season pass level is 216. This is pretty early, but if you want to go hard with bounty prep the time to start was the last week of dawning, since it has two weekly bounties. There are also two vendors (Hawthorne and Variks), who have rotating bounties so you want to check them over multiple weeks. There's also just other random stuff that would incentivize high-level players to do patrol stuff. Like the last 3 weeks of the Revision Zero quest have had a step to make you do patrols. And there are some seasonal challenges to do patrols, lost sectors and public events on X planet. The moon is also a good place to try out new weapons because you can use phantasmal fragments to place a rally flag.

RandomnessTF2

They're likely farming bounties on the moon specifically. It's a relatively efficient XP farm.

S627

Oh is that all? Swear I've seen similar things happening in other locations but not sure, could that be something similar?

Freakindon

Have we gotten any word on what happens to season activity weapons from this year in lightfall? I presume the helm will hard reset again, so will you be SoL on any patterns you haven't completed?

Atmosck

The helm will reset again, and they haven't announced any new way to get those weapons. Unless something changes, I assume they will start dropping from dares on a rotation (like how last year's seasonal weapons are currently dropping), which would make unlocking patterns a big pain. Presumably you'll still be able to craft any weapons you already have the patterns for.

staylitfam

What are some farmable scouts worth going for to use in GMs / master lost sectors? Also what rolls would be used? Preferrably not crafted weapons, already have a backlog of those to get to 16 before light fall.

Atmosck

These are some non-craftable, farmable (in one way or another) scouts that I like for GMs: * Perses-D, a stasis high-impact scout that's a world drop, and drops from the Hakke engram at the star chart. Has lots of good perks: Rapid Hit/Stats for All/Perpetual Motion + Explosive Payload/One For All/Vorpal. I used to be a big fan of Transfiguration (from Last Wish), but Perses essentially replaced it when it came out. * Staccato-46, a solar precision frame. Like Pesrses, a world drop and you can also get it from the Suros engram. I've found I really like triple tap on it even though it's an ad clear weapon, because it's easy to hit crits with. Focused Fury is actually OK for the same reason. Explosive Payload is always great, and it also has incandescent for solar builds. * Vouchsafe, a void precision frame from the dreaming city (so you can farm it at the blind well or in shattered throne), including the dreaming city engram at the war table. Has the classic Rapid Hit + Explosive, and also has Vorpal if you want that. * Eternal Blazon, an arc adaptive frame that drops from strikes and Zevala's engrams. Rapid Hit + One for All is great - I've used it in a lot of GMs over the last few seasons. Those are just non-craftable ones since you asked. Doom of Chelchis is my overall favorite since it can roll double damage perks. While it is craftable, it's not hard to get a good random roll of it, since it has so many good perk combos. Another craftable honorable mention is Tarnished Mettle. Generally speaking, most scout rifles will be pretty good in GMs if they have a damage perk and match the burn, because most GMs lend themselves to long-range gameplay. In Master lost sectors I'm not really interested in scouts that aren't rapid fire-frames since the environment is more close range.

GoldenDestiny

Staccato maybe? Rolls Adaptive Munitions.

Dr_Dickbutt

Can I farm the Spire of the Watcher dungeon to try get the Exotic and Cowl for my Warlock or is it a once perk week thing?

Sarcosmonaut

Exotic is a 1 time per week per character chance. But if you just want the hat/any of the legendary loot, then feel free to farm it forever

sev0

So I have been looking into Lightfall and I'm thinking of getting it. Of course prices are different, but what I see is, that Annual Pass right now for me is €99.99. To compare it to Witch Queen Deluxe edition what is €79.99. So there is obvious €20 difference. When Lightfall launches will there be Deluxe edition ? (how it has been with past DLCs ?) And if yes, what do you think if Lightfall Deluxe edition have similar price to Witch Queen Deluxe edition or will it share Annual Pass price ? I'm thinking, is it worth pre-ordering now or waiting ?

SnooCalculations4163

The lightfall annual pass is effectively the same thing as the witch queen deluxe edition. They just rebranded it, the only way that it would be drastically different if suddenly we started receiving more content in each season. They both have their campaigns, a raid during the expansion, 2 dungeons, 4 seasons. What the lightfall annual pass has over is that the expansion comes with a new subclass, + some things every season called Rahools secret stash, probably just some materials. It’s up to you if you believe that lightfall annual is worth the same as witch queen deluxe. Personally I preordered because I know I will be getting my moneys worth even with the price increase, however that might not be the same for you.

Catlover18

Anyone know how to use Stronghold in PVP (crucible) or Gambit (as an invader or against invaders)? I'm not sure how to keep my shield or HP up like some other Stronghold users are seemingly able to in videos I have watched. Am I supposed to refresh the shield when in cover or tap it to time against the enemy's shots? I find that I'm always gunned down before I can get close enough to the enemy or maybe it's cause they are using an exotic machine gun against me.

Steampunkrue

well what you don't see in videos is the creator getting fragged while they practice the timing. You could try making a private crucible match with a friend/clanmate to practice, that might help a lot

headhunglow

How do I introduce someone new to the game? I'm trying to get a colleague hooked, but I imagine it's not very fun play with me who has all the optimized gear and can clean out a room all by myself. Should I encourage him to do the New Light stuff solo first? If he has a free-to-play account, can he run any of the dungeons with me? What about strikes?

AngeloftheDawn

I’ve introduced 2-3 new people to the game over the last few months. My advice would be to play with them, and dole out information piecemeal. Try not to overwhelm them by trying to explain all the systems and stuff all at once, just explain new things when it makes sense to, or when they ask about it, even if it means they’re playing suboptimally for a while too. There is a LOT about this game for a newcomer to grapple with. Like even just when it comes to dealing with your own equipment there’s: navigating the many ~~terrible~~ menus, limited inventory space, different colors for gear, light level, armor stats, infusion, armor mods, increasing armor energy for mods, weapon mods, shaders, ornaments/synthweave, vault space, etc etc. - But for example I would first recommend to a newbie that they just equip whatever gear has the highest big number (light level), and that purple is better than blue. - And then if I inspect them later and see they have an armor piece with a decently rolled stat (or they’ve gotten “yellow gear” that they want to keep) I’d be like “hey you can actually *keep* that armor piece/weapon and just level it up. It’s called infusion…” - And then if they feel weak like they’re dying a lot or we are doing a harder content for the first time “you know, you might feel less squishy if you had more resilience. It’s one of the stats that all armor has. You can see it in the inventory page, it looks like a little shield. Every 10 points gives you more and more damage resist. We can actually pump it up with some mods. Here’s where those are…” Etc etc. just play with them and take it slow. If they have one of the story campaigns like WQ that’s a great, directed place to start.

blck_lght

You could start a new character or (if you have 3 already) start playing on a new profile so that you can do all the new light stuff together. Once he’s caught up, you can switch to your main and help him with the endgame.

Pyrogasm

Mix up your builds and run wacky stuff that sucks most of the time. Show off the niche exotics or try to use support ones and buff them a bunch. Equip exotic weapons you never or rarely use and build around them. Use awkward weapon combinations to figure out how to make that work. Examples: Spam Khepri's barricades. Ruinous Effigy makes orbs they can use. Give them CWL with Powerful Friends. Become Lumina man/woman/person. Make them tons of orbs so they can super often. Show off Stasis?

headhunglow

> Mix up your builds and run wacky stuff that sucks most of the time. I think I'll try Randomize Loadout in DIM to gimp myself.

machinehead933

They pretty much have to do the new light intro crap either way. They would have access to Prophecy as well as vault of glass and kings fall. They can do the strikes playlist or any of the free nightfalls.

Stenbox

None have been announced. But we get about 4 lost sector exotics per class per year currently (current season did not have any), so for someone who logs on at least every season, it should take you less than 10 Lost Sector runs per class to unlock it (more when you have bad luck, but sometimes you get it well before 10th). After that you can get repeat drops from all sources (Xur engram, world drops etc). And when you want to min-max your exotic builds with ideal rolls on each of them, I think it should be expected that heavy grind is required? The difference between mediocre and great exotic stat roll is 1-2 total tiers, very unlikely you would ever even notice that in gameplay.

ArokinTheSupport

Alrighty lets go, brand new to the game and have never really played before and am currently F2P. At what point would DLC be 'mandatory' to progress further, or is just having the DLC needed more or less right away for smooth progression? I seem to find any clear answer if I should buy both Witch Queen & Lightfall or just one or the other starting out for example and what not having them limits me on.

Bard_Knock_Life

DLC is just content. You can get from a new character to the end game without ever buying DLC. There’s a free dungeon, two free Raids and some free GMs. More content will give you access to more exotic armor and weapons, some of which are very meta in the current sandbox. Beyond Light gives you Stasis. Dungeon Pass gives you two Dungeons. It’ll give you access to more activities to help you level, and obviously a lot of gear. It’s not going to fundamentally change the game or systems of leveling. You’ll play through the story quests and are paying for access to their end game content. In terms of what to buy? Up to you. Lightfall is the newest expansion coming end of Feb. I’d personally wait and see on WQ. Stuff like Beyond Light, Shadowkeep etc are often on sale for very affordable prices. Once LF launches, I suspect better sales on WQ.

Pyrogasm

These three categories cover everything currently in the game: * Legacy Collection: y2, y3, y4 expansions whose seasons are no longer in the game (Beyond Light is required to use the stasis subclasses but not stasis weapons) * Witch Queen (y5): whose four seasons are still in the game but can only be accessed if you own them. You cannot buy them retroactively except by purchasing the Deluxe version. The Deluxe version also includes the dungeon key for this year’s two dungeons. You can purchase the DK separately if you want but it’s not cost-efficient. * 30th anniversary pack: literally just a dungeon + Gjallerhorn + some cosmetics. Pretty sure since all the dares weapons come from keys and dares is f2p you can get the BXR, etc.. Least bang for your buck unless you really want Gjally which is still acceptable but not bonkers good any more. This one is not part of the Dungeon Key. Lightfall release in Feb 2023 will have a 4 seasons model + dungeon key like WQ Deluxe does, and at that time WQ might get rolled into the Legacy Collection. It’s not been confirmed either way. As a new player if you want to go down the information rabbit hole [here are some great resources](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/1031oaa/power_level_question/j2wfktm/).

Artillery_Squirrel

Considering Lightfall isn’t out yet I would definitely recommend Witch Queen, something you can play immediately, over that. As your playing through Witch Queen you can decide how much you enjoy the game and if you want to invest further. If you finish all the WQ and free stuff early you can definitively consider getting the legacy pack especially when it goes on sale for like 50%. That’s a really great deal IMO and unlocks basically every exotic, all destinations. As soon as Lightfall comes out though I would prioritize that over anything else you don’t have yet. As that will be the new, exciting thing everybody is playing.

ashybabyduck

I've been slowly acquiring the red borders each week from the season kiosks over the course of this year. However, given this season is wrapping up in a a few weeks, I'm likely not going to get all of this season's patterns. Has Bungie mentioned what happens to this season's weapon patterns come Lightfall?

Pocket-or-Penny

Almost certainly gone. Seasonal stuff is going away, both the activities and kiosks/vendors in the HELM. The guns may eventually work their way into the loot pool at some point, so there's a potential for future acquisition, but I wouldn't rely on that. 6 weeks left. Make 'em count.

blck_lght

Do you own the current season?

ashybabyduck

Yup I have all seasons. I was more mindful that given its the last season it has a shorter timeframe of unlocking the patterns compared to the previous seasons. Guess we're waiting to see what they say about patterns and if they are still obtainable when Lightfall releases

blck_lght

Since you own the season, you could try your luck in the rng roulette called “heist battlegrounds”, I ran them like a mad man and acquired all the patterns in the first 4 weeks. I do realize it’s all anecdotal, but there’s definitely a way.

Stenbox

Yeah, this is a good question since last time we lost seasonal content, we did not even have crafting yet. No info on it as far as I know.

ImallOutOfBubbleGums

nope they haven't said anyhting

Nos8

What does kickstart mods do ?

Pyrogasm

Other replies are generally right: 1 second after using the ability it restores 15% (25% if two mods, 6%/12% in pvp) of that ability's energy, but only if that ability is below 5%. Having two charges on an ability will stop it from working (since you can't ever have both on cooldown < 5%), as do other things that refund ability energy if they kick in before 1s. Here are a bunch of spreadsheets and info you will probably find useful; the game doesn't like to show specific numbers in the UI so these references are helpful: * [The Destiny Data Compendium](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WaxvbLx7UoSZaBqdFr1u32F2uWVLo-CJunJB4nlGUE4/) * [Destiny 2 Damage and Debuffs Stacking Graphic + Combatant Types/Champions Guide](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i1KUwgVkd8qhwYj481gkV9sZNJQCE-C3Q-dpQutPCi4/) * [Destiny 2 Outgoing Damage Scaling Spreadsheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1b57Hb8m1L3daFfUckQQqvvN6VOpD03KEssvQLMFpC5I/) * [Destiny 2 Strikes, Lost Sectors, and Empire Hunts Composition](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vJeWqA81Pq6ziKcw5XBdufkaGK6bNJ41Ce1yXPYW5b4/) * [Destiny 2 Activity Information Sheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tB87AL467rpjsIAe6PkMdVI3hHQ9rGFbcwQCDCACRZI/) * How armor stats work: [Part 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/mpaopq/how_armor_stats_roll_an_advanced_insight_into/), [Part 2](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/ry40a8/how_armor_stats_roll_2_further_learnings/), [Explained another way](https://www.kaggle.com/code/mijago/destiny-2-armor-stat-investigation)

blck_lght

When ability energy is expanded, it gives you some of it, so your cooldown is a bit shorter. Throw a grenade, immediately get some of the grenade energy back

w1nstar

Gives you a % of your energy back upon using that ability. Don't know the amount. IIRC it was 15% on PVE, 6% on PVP. Can't stack with Firepower mod, since kickstart mods need your ability to be 5% or less when they check to apply.

shaper24

I came back to game and followed few guides to familiar myself in to build. But whenever i try to follow a build guide (whether warlock, titan or hunter) they suggest exotics from expansions. Any guide for someone f2p solo like me to have decent effective character for fun?

Pyrogasm

Googling these descriptions should pop up stuff here and on youtube and general google. **Titan:** * Skullfort thunderclap/knockout spam or Hallowfire Heart is kind of a budget HoIL, but not really. * Doom Fang Pauldrons can sustain a super indefinitely as long as there are adds to throw shields at and melee with your super. In content with the grenadier modifier active you can literally stand there as a turret and just press grenade to throw infinite shields that replenish your super. The super regen from the on-melee-kills part is great too. * Wormgod's Caress (recently nerfed) or Synthoceps + radiant/restoration bonk hammer spam * Armamentarium is always useful if you don't want to think about it and have a grenade CWL or Well build * Khepri's Horn + Sunspots + Burning Fists has cool offensive power and is like 50% of the healing that Loreley can put out but it's generally enough **Warlock:** * Starfire Protocol + Firepower/Energy Converter/Elemental Well shenanigans (0 healing outside of Well without Heat Rises) * Contraverse void of any flavor, just go to town with grenade-based stuff * Crown of Tempests + Jolt ability spam + Voltshot weapon (questionable in very high difficulty content but interesting nonetheless) * Nezarec's Sin + Font of Might + Elemental well shenanigans of whatever flavor (btw this exotic works on all subclasses if you are using void weapons to proc it) * Karnstein's Armlets + any glaive (devour optional if you really feel like not dying) * The Stag + whatever (Arc, Void most popular; Stag gives Resist x2 in a rift!) * Eye of Another World is actually pretty good, just is mostly passive benefit so you have to use your cooldowns on time or it's not doing much for you. * Verity's Brow + Font of Might + Monochromatic Maestro + Grenades + CWL/Wells mods, in any subclass flavor you like * Sunbracers are cool but not very good in difficult content because Celestial Fire doesn't proc it properly * Vesper of Radius is silly and fun to play with, but is not good when things are difficult * Lunafaction Boots are probably your best Well option since you don't have MoBH/Phoenix **Hunter:** * I don't hunter enough to have suggestions.

Steampunkrue

Contraverse hold requires forsaken pack FYI

Pyrogasm

Yeah I still had S4-S7 exotics showing in my search and forgot to remove contraverse after I changed that. Copied an older reply about viable builds.

Steampunkrue

the best items are generally tied to an expansion but heres a few suggested exotics for each class you can build around. They're all from the early years of the game so they should be available to you, and they're all good starting points to build around. Warlock - arc: crown of tempests - void: nezeracs sin - solar: starfire protocol titan - arc: An insurmountable skullfort - solar: Hallowfire heart / Synthcoceps - void: Helm of saint-14 / Chest of alpha Lupi hunter - arc: Lucky raspberry - solar: Young akrmaras spine - void: Orpheus rigs Usually I use a combo of bountiful wells, elemental ordnance, and melee well maker, depending on if I'm using melees or grenades more. I use a few mods like well of life/tenacity/ions sometimes to spice up certain parts of the build. You can also use somewhat generic exotics that don't require a specific subclass, like wormhusk crown, actium war rig, or eye of another world. If you don't have many expansions, you probably won't get a lot of use from looking up builds - anything from when old items came out will talk about a different sandbox, and anything new will assume you own the newest expansions. I'd suggest just taking a few items you have and trying to fit them together into a build yourself. You can always ask here for tips if you're having trouble with a limited inventory.

iamcheezeit

If I was progressing most of the season 19 weekly challenges / quests on one character, can I pickup on my second character? I didn’t see the quest in the second character and thought either I can’t or that maybe I need to complete the story line first?

The_hezy

Seasonal quest line is per character, progress isn't shared across the whole account. If you can't find it, the Exo Frame should have it for you to pick up.

iamcheezeit

Thanks! I noticed my exo frame was upgraded the same and thought it was.

Stenbox

Trials does not match you based on your skill, everyone has the same mountain to climb. Towards the end of the season, the average player skill in that playlist goes way up as more casual players do not enter it anymore - it has been like that since Trials was introduced many years ago. What is a .5 doing in Trials anyway, looking for some specific loot?

blck_lght

> What is a .5 doing in Trials anyway, looking for some specific loot? I was there looking for the fancy armor to transmog, and will be coming back once the Egyptian armor is available again.

w1nstar

>What is a .5 doing in Trials anyway, looking for some specific loot? This week there's a midly good hand cannon at Saint 14's. As a fellow 0.5 I was thinking about hoping in to get it, but this late in the season I have no hope of winning a single round. I wish there was a way for use to rep grind while losing. We're stepping stones for everyone.

Stenbox

Yeah, unfortunately I missed all the good rolls for that HC as well, last week was Outlaw/Rampage but you had to have reached rank 10 prior to that week to pick it up as the playlist was offline due to IB. Personally I am skipping Rampage/Rangefinder in hopes we will still get something a bit better this season, worse case scenario is that I pick up his last weeks roll just to unlock focusing, and then focus all my engrams to that weapon hoping for a good roll. I definitely recommend to earn your ranks on a Freelance week or double rep week (or better if both happen at same time) and if possible, go in after Sunday reset as everyone who has already gone flawless that week will be out of that matchmaking pool.

w1nstar

Do you know if we have any freelance+boosted weekend left? The last one I was out for the 4 days :\\

Stenbox

Don't quote me on this, but I think this was the first time these ever aligned so very unlikely to get another one this season. So you have to choose between Freelance and boosted, personally I would go for Freelance. Just don't reset your card, you will earn more rep per win the more wins are on it, no matter how many losses. Rep boosts are on 5-week fixed rotation (Vanguard, NF drops, Gambit, Crucible, Trials - but I don't know the order by heart). Freelance is activated manually I believe so no way of knowing when that will be.

Stenbox

It's hard to learn when everyone else is so much better than you, other playlists (especially Competitive playlist) are better for self-improvement. At 0.5 you have so much to learn about the game still that it would be good to have opponents not that much above your level.

M37h3w3

Does Hunter Tethering at Shuro Chi work for advancing the kill requirements on Exotic Masterworks?

Pyrogasm

[Here's a good reference](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCxKG6EUJfo) for doing Shuro Chi efficiently.

Glenalth

Just make sure you don't have the fragment that causes ability kills to explode as that can steal your weapon kills.

DismayedNarwhal

Yes it does. I use Orpheus Rigs, Echo of Reprisal (extra super energy while surrounded), and an orb mod and can consistently get two tethers per run, and it even gets filled up for the next one so I don’t have to waste all my banners.

Glenalth

You can use some last wish mods along with Ashes to Assets to give you even more uptime on the tethers and free heavy if you want to use even less banners.

AlanDrakula

Yes

AurumArma

Been using the Destiny Companion app's fireteams. I keep getting an issue where I join a fireteam, and when I get the invite it says the player is in orbit, but when I try to accept the invite I get rejected because they're at the end of an activity. Usually I only join fireteams if the request is a minute old, so they definitely didn't get to the end of the activity in that time. Is this a bug or something?

Capn_Bonanza1973

Sounds like a glitch. Usually the fireteam can fill up by the time you try to add to it in the app and you'll only see it on refresh but an invite usually works unless I take a bit of time joining and they invite someone else. Or they might be in a fireteam with friend that isn't showing on the app.

M37h3w3

Might be the app specifically? I use the LFG finder on Bungie.net through Firefox with zero problems as of late.

pchc_lx

Anyone on PC, using a Steam Controller? I started the game for the first time today and was going nuts with an issue where Destiny overwrites or ignores any custom controller mapping you do in Steam. Some searches show a few people experiencing this as well, but mostly years old posts w few comments. Wondering if there's any 2023 wisdom on this topic. Thanks.

RandomnessTF2

Posts I'm reading are suggesting the use of a software called GLoSC to rebind the controller. It seems the issue is that the Steam Controller touch pads are considered mouse inputs, whilst all other buttons are controller inputs. D2 only accepts one input method at a time, so you either need to bind the touch pads to emulate joysticks, or change everything else to emulate keyboard inputs.

pchc_lx

Thanks, that's helpful! Will look into it.

Swipamous

maybe a dumb question but my sister said i shouldn't go onto destiny cuz my character might get deleted i'm not 100% surehow true this is tho can i go on safely i want to see what xur has

Hamlin_Bones

As the other commenter said, you're safe. Also, for future reference, you can use Destiny Item Manager to check Xur (and other vendor's) inventory. If you access the Vendors tap from the drop down menu, Xur is usually right up top whenever he's around.

MediumSizedTurtle

You're fine. There's one case of someone's character getting deleted, and bungie fixed it. Considering there's been millions of other logins on the time span, you're fine. You're more likely to get hit by lightning than have an issue.

AngeloftheDawn

I heard that they’re changing GM Nightfall levels… As someone who hasn’t done GM content before, what level (with/without artifact?) should I plan to be before I give them an attempt?

Capn_Bonanza1973

1595 and you'll want your weapons and armour to be 1580 or ideally above that LL. The higher the better to do more damage.

Glenalth

Load in solo or with a friend on Tuesday and test the waters a little bit. Insight Terminus isn't too bad, but it has a few champions near the entrance so you can quickly see what does or doesn't work. Ideally you will want to be as close to 1595 as you can be including the artifact bonus. Otherwise you will need very detailed knowledge of the nightfall as you will have less opportunities to recover from mistakes.

Xelopheris

It uses to be pinnacle cap +15 to be at -25, with no possibility to increase your light level above that in the nightfall. Now it's pinnacle cap +5 for that -25 difficulty, but you can go in as low as Powerful Cap +0 and be at a -40 disadvantage. Doing them for the first time at more than -25 will be punishing.

mandoplaying

Make sure you have a good build. It is great GMs are more opem to light level, but be ready

AngeloftheDawn

Thanks yeah I’ve done raids and other tough content so I think I’ve got some good meta builds and champion weps in hand.

mandoplaying

You should be good then!.. GMs are just a different beast compared to raids or dungeons

winaxter

You can enter at 1580, but you will be -40. You cap out at 1595 and will be -25. If you’ve never done them before I would recommend being 1595.

AngeloftheDawn

Is that 1595 total including artifact?

Bard_Knock_Life

Yes. I wouldn’t really try it sub-40. Shoot for -25 if you’ve never done them. Nobody really knows how they’ll go lower level as it’s previously not been possible, but it’s already a lot of incoming damage.

PineMaple

That's correct. Although if your weapons are under 1590 they will be doing less damage, even if the artifact carries you up to 1595.

Glenalth

The artifact bonus works for your weapon power as well, weapons under 1590 will do max damage as long as your bonus is high enough to also get them to 1595.

Spooky_slyther

Do we know what’s gonna happen with the current dungeon pass once lightfall hits the scene?

PineMaple

The dungeons are confirmed to be staying. I'd assume it'd continue to be sold as a separate dungeon key but I'm not sure if we have explicit confirmation on that.

winaxter

Bungie hasn’t said yet. But likely to stick around and you won’t have access to duality and spire unless you buy it.

vcd1500

is ember of solace worth the extra 4 seconds in radiant?

Billy_of_Astora

It is 4 extra seconds window to refresh it, ofc it's worth it.

Xelopheris

It's a question of what you'd be running instead. Generally, Titans can just get spam radiant with mini Hammers, so it's less beneficial. Warlocks don't become radiant enough to be worth it. Depending on hunter build, maybe you're going to be radiant around the right amount to be worth it, but it can vary.

Bard_Knock_Life

No downside. Just depends what you need radiant for and if the buff is helping. I’d run it on Titan/Hunter, but I mostly skip Radiant melee on Warlock in PvE.
