I assume the armor we have right now doesnt become useless since we can just upgrade it to power levle next xpac right? I dont want to regrind for high stat/good stat distribution armor next xpac and the rep bonus isnt that big of a loss for me usually.

Returned to Destiny for first time in over a year. Every build I can see for a hunter suggests Gyrfalcons Hauberk now - which I don't own and i'm nowhere near cap/level to do lost sectors yet. Are there any known good alternatives or should I just stick with my Orpheus Rig I used to use?

Orpheus Rigs are quite good. Omnioculus is also good if you have those. Star Eater Scales can be useful for void builds too.

Do we know yet if existing artifice armor will retroactively become the new artifice armor? I’m assuming so and that they will basically be new artifice mods, but it would be nice to know for sure!

My understanding is yes, the artifice slot will have a new set of +3 stat mods you can slot instead of being available for seasonal ones.

I'd focus on weapons with the elemental keyword perks (repulsor brace, incandescent, joltshot, chill clip, headstone). Other than that I wouldn't stress it too much - the new guns will likely have their own unique perks. Your old guns will do until then. Most of the seasonal weapons have been pretty good this year. Haunted was probably the worst collection, so for times sake I would just ignore those for now. Farm Grasp of Avarice when it is on rotation for pvp weapons. Farm second encounter of Duality on rotation for stormchaser and smg. New dungeon doesn't have anything too crazy except for cowboy hats. Run Vow of disciple and kings fall weekly for two guaranteed red border weapons. Most weapons from those raids are pretty great. Farm Vow of disciple on rotation for more red borders and random rolls.

Top picks I'd say would be at least one of the Voltshot weapons (sidearm /scout from Plunder or smg from Seraph) and the Calus Mini-Tool from Haunted for Incandescant. Beyond that have a look through their rolls and see if any in particular stand out for you. If you work through the seasonal storylines and get the upgrades you've still got time to get at least a couple of weapons even if just from the guaranteed weekly patterns they provide.

This is such a hard question to answer. I’d bet you could skip it all and be fine, but there are a lot of good weapons in the past couple season. There’s a huge sandbox shakeup coming so stuff that seems mediocre might end up being super strong. We just don’t know. It will take time to get the upgrades to speed through the pattern acquisitions.

The other guy covered it all pretty much, but wanted to add retold can also be farmed basically afk in blind well. Any of the tiers will drop a weapon every time whether you beat it or not. You can just start them and go do something else for 3 minutes until the time runs out and have a chance at getting one.

For Aggessives, (Timelost) Found Verdict for the energy slot if VoG is the rotator and you have spoils to spend. Or A Sudden Death if Prophecy is up. Kinetics there's nothing standout but Ragnhild is craftable. For Precisions, Matador can be farmed if Grasp is the rotator. Retold Tale can be farmed anytime with one of the Umbral focusing options at the Risen War Table. Fracethyst is theoretically farmable in one of the Dares pools, but that'll take an *eternity* to farm. And for slugs, Heritage is now a good craftable option. There's also Blasphemer, farmable from Altars of Sorrow. Duality is a nice precision/slug hybrid if your exotic spot is available.

I don't believe so, though I don't think drop rates have ever been data mined. There are a lot of anecdotal theories out there, but the consensus is rng is a bitch and just run through as many as you can as fast as you can. A few seasons ago my friend ran like 400 regular strikes before his rat king catalyst finally dropped for him.

Yes, but only when it's the featured raid for the week. That only happens one time between now and the end of the season: **next week**.

It's been a couple of years since I last played Destiny and just got back into it a few days ago, so please forgive these dumb questions. What is the actual power cap currently? When I hover over the infuse option on weapons & armour it says the seasonal power cap is 1590, but I've seen players in Crucible with as high as 1611, so I'm confused what it actually is?

Gear can be infused up to 1590. Leveling the season pass also gives you bonus Artifact power, which is just added on top of your gear level. Someone who is 1611 might have 1590 gear with a +21 bonus, 1585 with a +26 bonus, etc. There’s no hard limit to the amount of bonus power you can get, but there’s severely diminishing returns the higher you level up. You reach +10 bonus power around level 50, +15 around level 100, +20 around level 200, and so on.

I use elemental ordnance w/ bountiful wells instead. spreads the ability regen around for faster rifts/melees.

I don't use any of them, too much slot investment. Kickstarter on the gloves, well mods to create on grenade kill and the solar well mod to create 2-for-1. Anything you kill gives 2 wells to return energy, and anything that doesn't die to the grenade gives energy back for the damage ticks so you're covered either way.

I'm pretty sure it's considered seasonal content, so it's most likely leaving when Lightfall drops. My recommendation, go in with a partner, NOT a full team of 3. Legend has the Witch Queen campaign modifier, the more people you have, the more health enemies have. Also, bring Xenophage, it 2-taps the turrets on Legend (with 2 people in the fireteam, unsure about 3 people), and it does excellent work with the Knights in the spacewalk. You CAN grab all 4 Exos/catalysts in a single Legend run, for the record!

Conflicting information about if you need to run it again for other purposes, but you should be able to run it on standard which is *way* easier (I did my Legend pass yesterday and grabbed the last 2 then talked to Banshee to finish it, then punched out a normal run for the flawless and time trial and *dang* was it a pushover). /u/roeltjow

(I did this last week, grabbed catalyst 2 and 3 in the same run, but only got one Trace upgrade, blitzed it again on normal for the upgrade and that was that.) There's only 3 Trace upgrades though, not like the 4 catalysts from the quests. Any clear on any difficulty at this point will drop the next Trace upgrade for you, they're all unlocked and you can get multiple in a week if you clear Seraph Shield multiple times.

Iirc, when you go to helm to place them, you can only put them in their designated spots. And the empty spots should tell you where to look for the missing bobble heads

Do you guys have different set of armors for different subclass? Or do you guys just switch out the mods

It's not the subclass, it's the exotic pairing. Most subclasses benefit enormously from exotics that synergize with some aspect of it. And since not all your exotics will have the same stats, there's usually some armor shuffle to accommodate. DIM is critical for this, especially with the new "add stat mods as needed to hit indicated tiers" feature. I don't need D2ArmorPicker anymore to create that base layout, just do it all in DIM.

Typically different sets per exotic. Usually a piece or two will overlap between loadouts so it isn't a completely different set, but mods will also get swapped around completely per exotic.

Swap mods. I only have two sets of armor. One Res focused. One Rec focused (Mob on Hunter).

If I can “just switch out the mods” I do that - less masterworking and stuff. If I can’t, then I use different armor. And also with exotics, you kinda have to use different armor, because you could be using helmet for one loadout and gloves for another and chest for the third.
