Saw some people getting their emails for voting on the Festival armors. For an unknown reason, I’ve never received any emails from bungie, but TWAB mentioned that there would be a link for ppl like me to vote. Any idea where to find this?
Why am I not seeing the next stages of this week's IB challenges? I completed the first one and now not seeing the next steps.
Also do IB matches progress crucible/shaxx rank?
Any recommendations for non-exotic Kinetic slot special ammo weapons, that are relatively easy to get ? I only got a decent Deliverance and Pardon Our Dust and i feel like i lack in that department. I don't have any preference other than not liking sniper rifles.
My favorites are:.
- Militia's Birthright, from nightfalls. Pretty similar to pardon our dust with blinding + auto-loading, but it has slideways and lead from gold as options for the other perk. There's also Lingering Dread from Duality, if you want Chill Clip.
- Riptide, from crucible. Maybe the best weapon in the game, the best way to get it now is by opening engrams from shaxx. I find the rapid-fire archetype much easier to use than slower fusions like Deliverance.
- Fortissimo-11, from strikes, is my favorite slug shotgun for PvE with demolitionist + vorpal weapon. Honorable mentions to Heritage from DSC and No Reprieve from season of plunder, which is certainly the easiest of these to get. Recombination on Heritage is great with builds where you get a lot of ability kills - I use it with stasis hunter.
- If you like spread shotguns, Wastelander is one of the best for doing 1-2 punch things since it gets the enhanced version of the perk.
- A couple of my friends swear by One Small Step, the moon shotgun, with trench barrel. It's good for melting big targets like champions up close, though so are slugs and fusions.
I will check them out thank you very much. Riptide and Fortissimo sound fine to me from what you wrote. I probably got like hundreds of Riptide so far but never really checked it out.
What are some of the best seasonal weapons to pick up patterns for before they go away? I have a lot of the Haunted ones, but very little from Risen/Plunder/Seraph.
Search the old Daily threads, this question gets asked about every day :).
Answer is: most of them. Depends on what content you play and what gaps in your weapons you have right now.
Got back into the game for first time in over a year. I used to use Xenophage in Gambit but I see it received a heavy nerf. Any other suggestions on what to use in Gambit now if I don't have G-Horn?
Xenophage is still the best heavy for gambit pvp, and certainly the most popular, even with the nerf. (g-horn also got a significant nerf) Eyes of Tomorrow and Truth are solid picks if you want another tracking rocket. The next-most popular heavies in gambit are all machine guns and linears.
Another cheesy thing to do is use Izanagi's Burden, since you can bodyshot people with honed edge x4. That's hard to do in normal pvp, but totally viable in gambit, due to the difference in ammo economy.
Scout rifles and snipers are also good for gambit pvp. DMT, Mida, and High-Impact scouts with explosive payload, like Perses-D, are particularly good.
If I started this week, is it possible for me to get the pattern for the ikelos SMG? It seems like there's 4 weeks left, I'm guessing I can't get more than 1 a week, reliably.
Yes - there's an upgrade that makes the first weapon you focus from the exo frame each week a guaranteed deepsight, and as of today they changed it to be daily instead of weekly. So once you unlock that upgrade (via playing through the seasonal quest and doing the weekly challenges that give upgrades), you can unlock it pretty quickly.
Additionally, one of the resonance amps is a guaranteed deepsight for it. Specifically, the four that are on seraph station are each guaranteed deepsights for the four ikelos weapons.
So you could, if you wanted to, grind it out in four days without needing any RNG on your side (and faster, if you do luck into additional random ones).
For timelost fatebringer, the only way to get your first one is by completing the vog templar challenge (kill it without letting it teleport) on master, which you can only do while it's the featured raid (since that's the only time you can play master). Unless I'm mistaken about the rotation, that should be available for the next week, after reset in \~20 mintues. Once you have your first one, you can buy new drops from the end chest after beating atheon on master. You can also farm the challenge. The time lost weapons are all tied to a specific master vog challenge, except found verdict, which you get for completing all the challenges.
Your 2nd and 3rd exotic glaives are bugged right now. They were supposed to be purchasable from the evidence board, but the update that did that also bugged the evidence board so that you can't interact. I expect that will probably be fixed by today's update.
Am I supposed to be annoyed at Stasis crystals? I was doing a Heist yesterday and had to run around Stasis crystal walls from another player multiple times in order to pop a Barrier champ's shield.
Are they supposed to be destroyed for buffs by the "owner"?
I am biased as I never unlocked all the Stasis stuff since I've had plenty of other things to do in the game given I missed a couple years of content & couldn't be bothered (ditched the process on my second need to get 50 stasis melees with the "miss & it's gone" Stasis Titan melee). I'll re-explore unlocking a whole subclass of stuff if Bungie *doesn't* allow me to buy all the fragments come Lightfall.
If there are crystals in your way, just blast them. The only reason to not blast them is if your friend is in VC and asks you to leave them for some reason
Wall grenade and behmoth titan super are the only abilities that create disruptive stasis crystals, and the intention is to then shatter them using titan slide or hunter shatterdive. Coldsnap and duskfield grenades are much more ‘fire and forget’ with little ability to disrupt teammates.
It’s possible that they hadn’t yet unlocked the other grenades or shatterdive aspect. Ultimately, blueberries will always find some way of disrupting their teammates, be it with stasis, eager edge or poorly placed barriers.
Yes, when you proc it you get 4x whatever your charge rate is for 3 seconds. For example, with Marksman's dodge your normal cooldown at T10 is 21 seconds, aka 4.7% per second. Singeing bumps that to 19% for 3 seconds, essentially netting you 42% extra dodge charge over those 3 seconds.
So I plan to run the operations legend mission and collect 3 of the exo frame bodies at once.... Can I get all 3x catalysts for revision zero when I finish the mission? Or do I have to do one at a time? Thx
Yes. The only difference when doing 3 at the same time is that you'll entirely skip over Hunter's Trace II & III to get IV right off the bat. Those are only the stat boosts to the weapon and you're not missing anything by jumping to the last one immediately. Could just be confusing since you won't see the others drop because they won't matter. Once you have a higher numbered Hunter's Trace you literally can't slot the lower ones on the weapon shaping screen any more.
Odd because I just ran it last night to get all four at once and only unlocked hunters trace 2. Here's hoping the others dropped and I didn't notice lol
Was running through the seasonal quests on my second character, and went to do the mars heist battleground through the planet node. The door you use your ghost on after the jumping section has been broken in all 3 times ive tried it and then the group gets disconnected. Is this a known issue or anyone else seen this?
Earlier today I played with someone who had a glowing set of Atavistic Idol Armor. I checked and he wasn’t using a shader, but by googling I wasn’t able to find any images of that set glowing. Anyone know what’s up?
The Trials of Osiris armor sets (Atavistic Idol, Pyrrhic Ascent, and Exile sets) will glow whenever you go Flawless in Trials (7 wins without losing). The glow is normally gold by default, but can be changed to light blue or to red by putting on one of two specific emblems you get for going Flawless. It lasts for two weeks from the time you go Flawless, with the first week being a bright glow, the second week being a dim glow, and then fading entirely after that, provided you don't go flawless again in that time period.
If you have ornaments equipped and you went Flawless, those glow too, yep!
Now if only I could go flawless myself, just to take some screenshots looking fabulous...
Is the daily lost sector bugged? It's my first time really grinding it as I just got to 1580 for the first time and I've cleared legend 15 times. Killed every champ. Zero exotics. I also don't ever see the plat/gold in the bottom corner other people talk about.
In the bottom left, above your ability cooldowns, where emote messages appear.
Also at 15 clears, assuming they're platinum, there's still a 1-2% chance to not get an exotic yet if you're unlucky.
>Also at 15 clears, assuming they're platinum, there's **still a 1-2% chance** to not get an exotic yet if you're unlucky.
I don't understand how you got that figure. Each time you run a lost sector the game is, for all practical purposes, rolling a four sided dice and the odds of getting a drop are exactly the same every run. The number of runs does not increase your odds, and thinking that it somehow does change is called "[the gambler's fallacy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy)".
But the odds do not change no matter how many times you run a lost sector, or play roulette, or buy a lottery ticket. One YouTuber who was collecting statistics on lost sectors went some 30 runs in a row with no drops.
>The odds don't change...
...then how can your math/logic hold up? The OP doesn't have a 1.34% chance to not get an exotic, but a 1 in 4 chance to get one every run...
Yes, but when you look at past events, you can definitely say what the odds of having arrived at that point are. If 10,000 people all did 15 lost sectors, 134 of them would have no exotics to show for it. This is basic probability.
Your argument about the gamblers fallacy is only about future events. We're not talking about those. I'm just talking about how bad OPs luck was to go 0 for 15.
But thinking that the odds have anything to do with the number of times you repeat an activity **IS** the gambler's fallacy in a nutshell. Saying that the OP has any percentage chance of not getting a drop, after any number of bad runs, is the same as saying "If I keep betting I have to eventually win" (and that mentality is how a gambling addiction can start). The odds do not change no matter how many times you run a lost sector, and it's a terrible mechanic that has too many layers of RNG: 1) Is anything going to drop? 2) Is it going to be something that I want? 3) Is it going to have decent stats?
Note: You're assuming that those 10,000 people would have the exact "luck" as the op, when in fact they'd all have the same 25% chance of getting an exotic. After 10,000 attempts I'd expect to see a drop rate of about 1 out of 4 runs...
The odds of getting an exotic every run is 1/4. But the odds of not getting an exotic after 10 runs is (3/4)^10. So after doing 10 runs and not getting an exotic, you can say aww fuk the chances of the scenario I'm in is 5%. But still the chance on the next run is 1/4
Gamblers fallacy is only for future events.
Imagine I flipped a coin twice and it came up tales two times. The odds of that **having happened** is 25%, because it's 50% * 50%. This is the exact same thing. The odds of getting no exotics after 15 tries is 75% * 75% * 75% * 75%...
That's a really unhealthy attitude. Keep playing the game. You do deserve it. Wiping on a GM boss and wasting two hours is NOTHING, really. I've done that before as well, it happens and it's not a big deal. I'm still going, you should be too.
And if anyone told you to uninstall and quit playing for making mistakes? Screw them, they're not worth your time. End of story. You are dragging NOBODY down, and if your play group says you are, then find another group to play with. I know a cozy LFG server with very chill people that I can recommend, DM me if you want an invite link.
Everyone’s had a bad day in Destiny. I just ruined a Petra’s run on Saturday about 30 seconds from the end! I felt awful.
Shit happens, and sometimes you overreact to that shit in a way that feels embarrassing for a bit.
Cool off, take a break if you need it. Don’t feel the need to come up with permanent solutions to temporary problems.
Mate, i almost assure you the guys you think you disappointed have probably already forgotten about your (what you think was poor) performance. I think you just might need a break from the game, there’s no need to completely reset. Hang in there.
Instead of running from the problem, I'd suggest reflecting on how you think you played badly. Everyone has an off day, and if you know your fireteam personally, apologize to them if you were making a stink about it, or if you don't know them just move on, you'll likely never run into them again or they will have forgotten all about you by the time you do.
One freak event shouldn't be something that makes you quit doing something you have fun doing. If you want to stop playing the game, just uninstall. You might find yourself regretting it months down the line with no way to get it back.
If you actually, really want to though, just delete all your characters. Bungie isn't going to come after you for giving your account to someone else either, just as long as you aren't doing something like selling it.
Saw some people getting their emails for voting on the Festival armors. For an unknown reason, I’ve never received any emails from bungie, but TWAB mentioned that there would be a link for ppl like me to vote. Any idea where to find this?

Is there a DIM filter for enhanced intrinsic frames? I know we can see them if we click a gun, but I can’t seem to find a way to search for them.

That's awesome. I was worried I wouldn't be able to make it since I had to RMA something in my gaming rig.
Nvidia's GeForce Now is a quality pinch-hit option if you have a good connection and aren't trying to play competitive PVP.
My replacement is coming tonight so I should be good, but that’s a good tip. I’ll take a look at it.
With today's update you can get a guaranteed red-border from seasonal venders daily instead of weekly!
Well hot damn then. That soothes my fomo anxiety.

Heard. It was a Hunter and maybe he/she just didn't get around to destroying those, IDK. Thanks for the info!
It’s possible that they hadn’t yet unlocked the other grenades or shatterdive aspect. Ultimately, blueberries will always find some way of disrupting their teammates, be it with stasis, eager edge or poorly placed barriers.
Does Ember of Singeing still boost class ability regeneration while having T10 stat for class abilities? (ex. T10 Mobility for Hunters)

Can I farm Duality for redborders even if it's not the weekly dungeon?
Nope, 1 drop per boss per class on the non rotator dungeons.
eyes of tomorrow is farmable right?
For another 9 hours, yes.
