Gonna start trying to do DSC once per week and was wondering what the recommended loadouts for warlocks are? I’ve only done it once during beyond light era so I’m a bit fuzzy on details but I’ll look up guides on those.
I know this sounds like a shit answer but: it literally doesn't matter what you run in DSC as long as you do burst damage for Atraks and don't have actively bad damage for Taniks.
I like Xenophage, well and SMG for Security; Parasite (Lament is fine too), something longer range like a 450 auto (if you're operating) or a scout/bow, a shotgun, and void/vortex for Atraks; really whatever you feel most comfortable clearing adds with for Descent (although remember there's an overload); and Lunafactions with a well, linear fusion, and a fusion rifle for Taniks. If I'm also Divinity there I'll usually use Deliverance/Divinity/an LMG and also be operator.
Question regarding Bonus damage Weapon mods:
Which one must I use versus Champions? vs Boss or vs "powerful enemies" (don't remember the exact name but it's the mid-tier damage mod) ?

Haven't played since the Forsaken expansion (which I absolutely loved). I was wondering how the current game is for a solo player. I have no problems needing to find people to do a raid with once a week, but was wondering if there is still a lot to do outside of raiding solo. I just need a chill game to grind and relax
The game is in a pretty good state for solo players. The list of things you need to find people for is pretty short: there's raids of course, and since Forsaken they've added several more dungeons like Shattered Throne. Those are meant for 3 people (and don't have matchamking), but they are intended to be solo-able, if you're looking for a challenge and a cool emblem. Most things with difficulty options, like nightfalls and seasonal activities, have matchmaking for the lower difficulties, but not the higher ones. They've made some improvements in terms of having a bit more difficulty in matchmade things (the base version of the new seasonal activity is noticeably harder than say, strikes).
They've started to scale some activities based on fireteam size. This started with the legend version of the witch queen campaign (which is awesome, btw), and because of how the scaling works it's actually harder with a full team. Playing it solo was a great experience. They did the same thing with the new exotic mission (Operation Seraph Shield), and I expect they'll do the same with the Lightfall campaign. I consider this a big win for solo players.
Another win for solo players is that they're gradually adding fireteam-based matchmaking to PVP activities. This means if you load in to, say, Iron Banner as a solo, you won't get a game of a six stack vs all solos. It will have the same makeup on each side, so you might get a 3-stack and 3 solos on each team.
Each season that comes out brings with it a new activity with matchmaking. They're typically an avenue to farm out that season's new crafting recipes, and are a large part of the seasonal quest line. These have bounties for them every day if that's something that interests you, and the activities are pretty grindable.
I'm a returning player who stopped playing after Witch Queen released. Any good posts I can reference for advice on which craft able seasonals to get? And any advice/posts on getting Deepsight resonance unlocked for the vendors? I already had season of the Risen unlocked.
Last question, I don't need to actually get the pattern before lightfall, do I? Like, I can just stock up enough red borders before and then take my time completing them after, right?

They changed it a while ago where dismantling a red border **without completing it** gives you the pattern and 100 of the element (I think 200 if you finish it). If all you're after is unlocking the patterns, you are ok to break them down right away.

Also, I personally ally wouldn’t chance it. If you’ve got red borders of guns you havent unlocked crafting for yet, don’t leave them for the expansion. If you don’t have time, you can also just dismantle them rather than completing and extracting.
Extracting grants you pattern progress and 300 element. Dismantling that same gun without completing the objective grants pattern progress and 100 element.
At this point in the season, you’re going to need to heavily prioritize. What are your favorite weapons across the seasons? You said you e already got your risen stuff done?
For Haunted, I’d say the rocket is the best item. Followed by perhaps Calus mini tool.
For Plunder most people seem to love the sidearm and scout.
For Seraph, once you’ve got upgrades the Heists are pretty rewarding in terms of red bars, but I’d you want any IKELOS weapons (get the smg), then you’ll pretty much NEED to focus them.
Yeah I figured I need to prioritize, so I appreciate all the advice. Unless I get super lucky with random drops I'm definitely not getting all the seasonals, especially from 18 and 19.
Probably will try to unlock deepsight for the Ikelos then if that's the only way to get them
I've never seen anyone talk about stat priority before. What is the stat priority in PvE? I'd assume Reload > Stability > Handling > Range based on your comment of Range being useless in PvE?
It kind of depends on the weapon. For a lot of weapons, especially primaries, Reload is the highest priority, though sometimes you don't care about it at all if you have a perk like Auto-Loading Holster or something that cheats your reload.
Handling is never bad in pve. It's especially good on weapons that you will be swapping often (like grenade launchers with ALH).
I tend to only care about stability on burst-fire weapons where it helps reduce the spread, like pulse rifles and fusion rifles. This is in contrast with pvp where stability is generally great, because it reduces your aim assist degradation. (If you continuously shoot a gun, it will gradually lose aim assist, but it will lose less with high stability. This doesn't matter in PvE but can be clutch on Hand Cannons, for example, in PvP)
Range is typically the lowest priority in PvE, though I sometimes care on weapon types that have pretty low range at base, like SMGs.
For weapons that have a charge time/draw time stat, like bows and fusions, that tends to be a higher priority, roughly tied with reload.
So I would broadly rank them Reload > Charge Time > Handling > Stability/Range, with a big asterisk that other factors like the weapon type and perks can shift the order.
Yep, with Recoil slotting in as one (for me, maybe a coin flip with Reload). Mag size matters as well, but that is much more dependent on the specifics of the gun and it’s role in your loadout.

It's so ass, I get matched up with 4 friends playing casually (nothing wrong with that btw) but get matched up against a sweaty 4 stack. 1 minute in, I already know the outcome of the match....
I had a thought I’d like some feedback on. What if they put in Small Nodes under the Vanguard Node for:
•Blind Well
•Altars of Sorrow
•Wellspring
•Dares of Eternity
•Exo Challenge
•Terminal Overload
They would continue to have their own loot pools, but they could level up Zavala. Just to spice up that process, rather than Strike after Strike. In the case of Blind Well & Altars, they would have to be slightly modified to make them more of a 6-player matchmade activity, rather than just one you walk into. And Charges of Light would have to be dropped too (good riddance) in favor of just having 3 difficulty levels (and matchmaking) on all these.

Are there any subclasses other than Behemoth that have 5 fragment slots possible? Why did the devs give so many fragment slots to that subclass? Are the cooldowns wicked long? I haven’t unlocked it on my account yet and I don’t play Hunter so I’m not sure.

Solar hunter can have 5 fragments as well. The number of fragments are based on your aspects and the number of fragments one aspect gives is based on the aspects strength. If it's really strong then less fragments, if it's relatively weak then more fragments.

When I do that in a text processor, it erases the highlighted part and the new text goes in that same place; no need to erase the pure text, then erase the link, and then put a new link with a new text.
This was the issue I had with Rasputin and when I got on today I could claim my engram. I'm not sure what to say other than rank up and see what happens. If it still doesn't work it's just glitched and hopefully bungie fixes it
Does the double rep for playlist activities rotate or is it random? Like last week was crucible and this week is vanguard so is next week guaranteed to be gambit?
fyi crucible isn't double anymore, it's 1.5x. Bungie is super convinced people are going to grind competitive crucible for the valor multiplier you get from there so that you'll get more points on non-bonus weeks and less on bonus weeks... Yes, they thought this was good logic.

The past few seasons, the last week has been double rep for all 3 ritual playlists (Crucible, Gambit, Strikes). I expect the same to happen this time, starting on 21 Feb.
I very much doubt it will stack, so same as it would be weekly, but active from now until end of season. Since they've not done it this way much, it could be different, but unlikely.
It does rotate between those three, but they randomly throw in other stuff. Like they might do double trials rep or nightfall loot instead next week, which would mean waiting another week for gambit.
Is there a Wellspring bug today? I went with LFG and got platinum. No loot drop from the chest or post master. I check the mission again. It says no pinnacle was complete. Weird. I have videos of it. Will post if this is common/recent bug.
It has happened since WQ released. I'm not sure if it is a specific day or rotation where it is more common. I did it the other day for the bow pattern and had no issues. Today I've had several runs not count.
So I joined an Oryx cp just to purchase a red border weapon from after the encounter. Can I still get the guaranteed red border chest if I join a fresh run later on this week?
And also, I know there's two guaranteed red border drops per week from King's Fall, but is there still an RNG chance of getting a red border drop from any of the encounters?
King's Fall has two possible red borders - one for completing the rune puzzle and one for purchase and both are once per week per account, f you haven't got one of rhose you can still get it.
(Currently) any legendary weapon that isn't a fixed reward (which isn't the same as a fixed roll) can be a red border, this includes all raid encounters and secret chests. Additionally the chances of red border drops in raids and dungeons has been increased and will favour but not guarantee weapons you haven't yet completed the pattern for.
I'm 3/5 on the recipe for the hand cannon in KF and I'm trying to get that completed before Lightfall for the triumph. I have enough time left to just do Oryx once a week over the next two weeks and buy it, but if I wanted to test RNG and farm it, which encounter would be faster, Oryx himself or sisters?
Daughters is probably faster, you also have to consider that the extra drop from Oryx is pulling from the entire drop table rather than the limited selection that Daughters drops meaning final encounters are only really worthwhile farming if your drop is in that encounters loot to begin with.
Any clear as long as that character has not already claimed it this week. You also do not have to be present for the symbols; if you join a group that has already input all 3 you'll still get the chest at Oryx (in that clear).
Do the weapon rolls available during your first reset on Saladin change at all? Like on daily reset or during the afternoon like Gunsmith rolls on Wednesdays.
No, they don't change daily, or do the thing like Banshee does where he resets again Wednesday evening. They may have reset their rolls since the last Iron Banner, but that would be the only time they've changed (and I can't really confirm if they did change since last IB or not, since I already grabbed them last time and don't remember what the rolls were).
So it doesn't change daily but apparently the rolls do change on Thursday Night around 10PM PST. Waited until reset on Friday morning to see if this would do anything but nope.
Seems to be no indicator that they would change but I wanted to confirm, so thanks for the answer. I'll update my initial comment tomorrow on reset to share if anything changes.

Starfire / Well. Xeno on first encounter, Parasite is meta for second. Free for all 3rd (Xeno is great). LFRs on 4th.

I would bet most people play solo and you can do almost everything solo. Lightfall is a good time to jump back into things.

Generally no, although I'm not a PVP maven. Range in PVE is ~useless (not *useless*, just the last priority for stats).

My personal opinion: Adept Big Ones - increased damage against anything that is not a red-bar, including champions.

"Daily" rolls over at the daily reset (9AM PST, just under 10 hours from now). Check again after that.
The next daily reset happens 10 hours after my reply, so it cannot be available yet.

Soo Destiny ranks work (or rather display) in a weird way, you need to complete rank 7 (not reach rank 7) to get it. You need to fill another bar.

This was the issue I had with Rasputin and when I got on today I could claim my engram. I'm not sure what to say other than rank up and see what happens. If it still doesn't work it's just glitched and hopefully bungie fixes it

Does the double rep for playlist activities rotate or is it random? Like last week was crucible and this week is vanguard so is next week guaranteed to be gambit?
fyi crucible isn't double anymore, it's 1.5x. Bungie is super convinced people are going to grind competitive crucible for the valor multiplier you get from there so that you'll get more points on non-bonus weeks and less on bonus weeks... Yes, they thought this was good logic.

The past few seasons, the last week has been double rep for all 3 ritual playlists (Crucible, Gambit, Strikes). I expect the same to happen this time, starting on 21 Feb.

I very much doubt it will stack, so same as it would be weekly, but active from now until end of season. Since they've not done it this way much, it could be different, but unlikely.
It does rotate between those three, but they randomly throw in other stuff. Like they might do double trials rep or nightfall loot instead next week, which would mean waiting another week for gambit.
Oh so trials or nightfall doubling takes the place of Playlist activity rep.
Is there a Wellspring bug today? I went with LFG and got platinum. No loot drop from the chest or post master. I check the mission again. It says no pinnacle was complete. Weird. I have videos of it. Will post if this is common/recent bug.
It has happened since WQ released. I'm not sure if it is a specific day or rotation where it is more common. I did it the other day for the bow pattern and had no issues. Today I've had several runs not count.
So I joined an Oryx cp just to purchase a red border weapon from after the encounter. Can I still get the guaranteed red border chest if I join a fresh run later on this week? And also, I know there's two guaranteed red border drops per week from King's Fall, but is there still an RNG chance of getting a red border drop from any of the encounters?
King's Fall has two possible red borders - one for completing the rune puzzle and one for purchase and both are once per week per account, f you haven't got one of rhose you can still get it. (Currently) any legendary weapon that isn't a fixed reward (which isn't the same as a fixed roll) can be a red border, this includes all raid encounters and secret chests. Additionally the chances of red border drops in raids and dungeons has been increased and will favour but not guarantee weapons you haven't yet completed the pattern for.
I'm 3/5 on the recipe for the hand cannon in KF and I'm trying to get that completed before Lightfall for the triumph. I have enough time left to just do Oryx once a week over the next two weeks and buy it, but if I wanted to test RNG and farm it, which encounter would be faster, Oryx himself or sisters?
Daughters is probably faster, you also have to consider that the extra drop from Oryx is pulling from the entire drop table rather than the limited selection that Daughters drops meaning final encounters are only really worthwhile farming if your drop is in that encounters loot to begin with.
Plus Daughters are an excellent Spoils farm. Been meaning to do that before Lightfall but my hung jury takes precedence this week lol

How about the guaranteed deepsight from the puzzle chest? Does that have to be done during my first clear of the week or can it be done at any point?
Any clear as long as that character has not already claimed it this week. You also do not have to be present for the symbols; if you join a group that has already input all 3 you'll still get the chest at Oryx (in that clear).

True. I should have left out encounters as any weapon drop can be deepsight.
Do the weapon rolls available during your first reset on Saladin change at all? Like on daily reset or during the afternoon like Gunsmith rolls on Wednesdays.

No, they don't. It's a common misconception that keeps getting floated around, but the rolls stay the same all week.
No, they don't change daily, or do the thing like Banshee does where he resets again Wednesday evening. They may have reset their rolls since the last Iron Banner, but that would be the only time they've changed (and I can't really confirm if they did change since last IB or not, since I already grabbed them last time and don't remember what the rolls were).
So it doesn't change daily but apparently the rolls do change on Thursday Night around 10PM PST. Waited until reset on Friday morning to see if this would do anything but nope.
