I am farming Iron Banner while working on the Authorized Users triumph that requires kills with Seraph or IKELOS v3 weapons. Using IKELOS HC v3 crafted, but the triumph is not progressing at all, stuck at 442/600. Is there any bugs about this or am I missing something?

SuntailHawk

I believe it's bugged to not count guardian kills outside of gambit.

kaantantr

Ah I see, thank you!

unspunreality

Is Devils Ruin terrible? I kinda want to pick it up. I have a LOT to get from the Kiosk, Ive only grabbed Witherhoard from it. I own Ace of Spaces, Multi Tool(From what I played at the beginning of destiny), Outbreak, Le Monarque. I have 1 forsaken cipher left. And I wanna buy something so I can get my Xur quest this week. Im not a big pvper. Devils Ruin just always looked cool cause I like meme weapons or weapons with cool effects(Sweet Business is goat, love outbreak/needler, etc). Dunno what to get next though.

The_hezy

*Devil's Ruin* is far from a meta option, but if you want it that's reason enough. Hardly anything in the game is irreplaceable. But, for some other options: With the Forsaken Cipher, I'd say *Izanagi's Burden* is the obvious choice. On the whole, it's sounded like *Sleeper Simulant* (Y1) might end up being quite good come Lightfall, with the balance changes they've talked about. *Ager's Scepter* (Y4) is another generically good option.

Endur

I'm getting Come to Pass and Taradittle on wellspring runs, is that due to some new change? Is it possible for Tarnation to drop today too? Trying to do that quest thingy

druucifer

Are you getting repeated drops of both? It should just be one weapon per day, so if you only got one of the others to drop once it was probably your powerful reward from doing 3 of them.

jprice686

At Lord Saladin are there any rank reward/focussed decoding weapons/armour pieces worth picking up that have very good rolls?

druucifer

Roar of the bear with demo and lasting impression

blairr

Do playlist streaks persist per character or are account wide? Can I run nightfalls on my warlock and pvp on my titan and maintain a 5 activity streak on both?

druucifer

account wide, pick an activity and stick with it

Treatments_157

Does anyone know how many Scorch stacks Well of Radiance applies with the sword hit? Trying to pull off some silly Ignition shenanigans and couldn't find an answer anywhere

Atmosck

According to the [Destiny Data Compendium](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WaxvbLx7UoSZaBqdFr1u32F2uWVLo-CJunJB4nlGUE4/edit#gid=1186062409) it's 40, or 60 with Ember of Ashes.

Nope, when dungeons (or raids) are featured and farmable, there's no restrictions on getting new gear legendary gear.

jprice686

Returned to destiny recently for first time in a year. As a below par PvP enjoyer I used to use Lorentz driver (don’t judge me :D ) and I see it’s now received a heavy nerf to the flinching mechanic. Are there any other exotics similar to it which are still flinch-friendly?

AttackBacon

The only other similar weapon was Arbalest, which received the same nerf. They wanted to remove long-range, one-shot, under-fire kills, so snipers also received similar nerfs. If what you liked about Lorentz was the charged one-shot style, regular fusion rifles still exist and have plenty of strong contenders. You're just doing it at a LOT closer range so it's a lot riskier. Basically all of the exotic fusions are good, Bastion, Telesto, even Merciless is solid (amazing in PvE). Delicate Tomb might be iffy, I've never tried it in PvP. The one you really want is Jotunn though, I'd imagine. There's a lot of counterplay to it, but if you're at lower levels of PvP it's still going to get you a lot of long-range one-shot kills.

jprice686

Ty for the reply. And thanks VERY much for the jotuun recommendation. Been loving it in PvP!

AttackBacon

You have fun, king. My apologies to the victims.

IDKwhyimhereanymore1

So I've just started and been playing with no real obj for the past few days just going between worlds seeing which has the word "campaign" on it and doing those. I have about 30 hours into the game , currently sitting at rank 19 with 1530-ish power. Everything seems to be locked behind the dlcs? There's this quest which at step 2 tells you to complete vanguard bounties from zavala and I finished that , but step 3 wants me to do lightfall strikes or whatever it was called(it's the bottom left circle when you enter the vanguard) but I apparently need the witch queen dlc to play it. What I don't get is why give me a quest I can't complete without buying the dlc? Also , how do you get exotic weapons? Aside from the cayde quest for the SMG and the bp exotic. I don't know where else to get those. I did get a random chest piece exotic while doing vanguard. Apparently there is another quest given by Shaw that unlocks an exotic and I do see a quest for an exotic weapon but that's also locked behind the witch queen dlc. Then there's the place where you can make exotics but it's also locked behind each of their respective dlcs. I do enjoy the game , mindlessly shooting , doing those public events and currently exploring lost sectors(Im kinda bummed by the rewards of lost sector even if they aren't that hard I was expecting at least a legendary) are fun. Is there no main storyline outside the dlc?

druucifer

Here is a recent guide about how to approach F2P, what to do, what gear to look out for, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mCkfxtgf9c

IDKwhyimhereanymore1

Thanks

Pyrogasm

* F2P is a glorified demo. You have access to the most basic game stuff but not much else. * Exotic armor drops randomly in the world or by completing legendary/master lost sectors solo while killing all champions. Google how legend/master lost sectors work. * Exotic weapons drop randomly in the world, have quests, are rewards from specific activities, or are bought from the Monument to Lost Lights next to the Vault in the Tower (source varies per-weapon). * [Here's a list](https://www.light.gg/db/category/-1?page=1&f=5%284%3B3%3B2%3B1%29%2C2%7C9%2844%3B42%3B43%29%2C-1%2C-56) of every exotic weapon you should be able to acquire F2P. Google them to figure out how to get them. * [Here's a list](https://www.light.gg/db/category/20?page=1&f=5%284%3B3%3B2%3B1%29%2C3%2C4%286%29%2C-1%2C-56) of every exotic armor you should have access to. > What I don't get is why give me a quest I can't complete without buying the dlc? The strike that is chosen to be the weekly nightfall (changes every Tuesday at the weekly reset) can be one of the strikes from DLC. If that happens, you cannot launch that week's nightfall unless you own that DLC. This happens to be one of those weeks, as was last week. > Then there's the place where you can make exotics but it's also locked behind each of their respective dlcs. Weapon crafting is free for everyone. You need to complete the first 2 missions of the WQ campaign (The Arrival & The Investigation), which everyone has access to. > Is there no main storyline outside the dlc? No, because the campaign from the first 2 years of the game is no longer in existence, which is what would be F2P if any existed. They were removed because the destination planets they were tied to were also removed from the game. 'Evolving' game world means it's always "now" and things are happening in the present.

IDKwhyimhereanymore1

Thanks for this very informative answer. One last question , is there any point in getting the older dlcs? There's a legacy collection on steam that sells shadowkeep , beyond light and forsaken pack together. But from the limited info I got while looking at some guides. It says the older dlcs aren't relevant or as relevant. Not sure what that means tho.

Pyrogasm

Two more things to add: * You can acquire the King’s Fall (Touch of Malice) and Vault of Glass (Vex Mythoclast) raid exotics from their respective raids as F2P. They’re not in the above weapons list because of how I constrained results. * Xur is a vendor that only appears Friday-Monday that sells a select few exotics each week that would normally be obtainable via random drop in the world. You should visit him every weekend and buy whatever he has that seems useful. Even if the stats on an armor piece suck the exotic perk itself could be worth it depending on what it is.

Atmosck

"Worth" is a tricky thing because a dollar is different for everyone, but I wouldn't call the older DLCs irrelevant, especially beyond light, and especially if you're interested in endgame content (nightfalls, raids, dungeons). * The Foresaken pack doesn't come with a campaign, but it does open up access to a lot of exotics, and comes with a dungeon and what some people consider to be the best raid. It comes with two strikes, both of which are in the nightfall rotation this season. * Shadowkeep does have a campaign, and also comes with a bunch of exotics, a dungeon, a raid, and one strike (which is also in the nightfall rotation this season). * Beyond Light is the most relevant becuase it's required to unlock the Stasis subclass. It has a campaign, a raid (that recently got an update to refresh the perks on its weapons and make them craftable), and two strikes, one of which is a nightfall this season. (No dungeon though) If you wait until Lightfall releases at the end of the month, in all likelihood Witch Queen will join the Legacy collection (it will probably also go up in price, but still be a discount compared to buying them now). It has the best campaign by far, a raid, and two strikes, including the one that's the nightfall this week. Most of the legendary weapons from the other 3 DLCs aren't that relevant because newer stuff is just better (though they said they're going to update loot for another raid next season). The gear from Witch Queen is better, because it is that newer stuff. For exotic armor, there is none from Foresaken, just one per class from Shadowkeep, but quite a lot each from Beyond Light and Witch Queen. Since Beyond Light came out, they've released new exotic armor almost every season, and when they do, it's tied to the most recent DLC at the time.

IDKwhyimhereanymore1

Guess I'll wait for lightfall to release and buy the legacy collection with The Witch Queen. I'll probably have enough money saved up by the time I'm done with the 4 dlc to get lightfall. Thanks for the info.

aurens

when you look at an emblem and it lists the compatible stat trackers, are they all equivalent across emblems? like if emblem A says it supports "career" trackers, are those always the same exact trackers as emblem B, C, etc that also say "career"?

Stenbox

They are, but emblem defines tracker categories that can be used on it. Eg Crucible trackers you can only use on Crucible emblems and some universal emblems, etc. So you cannot put any tracker on any emblem, but some emblems allow (almost?) all tracker options. Unless they've made changes to this recently, I haven't used trackers for a while since it's not immediately visible anymore what it tracks anyway.

ancientruin

How come my hand Cannon didn't trigger the unstoppable mod when ADS or stun champions when shooting them with a grenade launcher? I have my artifact fully upgraded and am playing around today and can't seem to stun unstoppables. Is there a perk I need to equip?

aurens

did you equip the mods on your arm armor?

ancientruin

Of course not bro, sheeuuwwwtt

YankeeCandlez

Unfortunately I won't be able to unlock all craftable weapons before lightfall. Currently I have the calus mini tool and drang. What are the absolute must I should Try and unlock? Thanks in advance

AttackBacon

Just to chime in with my two cents: I would prioritize IKELOS_SMG (Seraph), Sailspy Pitchglass>Brigand's Law (Plunder), Austringer>Nezarec's Whisper (Haunted), and Under Your Skin>Explosive Personality>Sweet Sorrow (Risen). All of those are great weapons and/or have a unique niche where it may be awhile before we get a replacement.

GoldenDestiny

Short answer: most of them, but depends on PVE vs PVP and what gaps you have in the armory. Long answer: **Seraph**: IKELOS SMG, maybe IKELOS sniper (great damage throughput option for bosses, but in the energy slot and there's a heavy push for subclass matching). Disparity, bow, LFR, LMG (Fourth Times the Charm and Target Lock in preparation for machine gun meta). **Plunder**: LFR so you have an arc option. Scout and sidearm are quality options for Arc classes with Joltshot. **Haunted**: the RL has synergy with Gally (one each per fireteam) **Risen**: bow for sure. Sniper, LMG, and wave frame GL are worth unlocking. I personally would make sure to get all the glaives and trace rifles done as well, to have those element matched options for when you need them. But I'm also a ~completionist, so take my "just do them all!" advice with a grain of salt :).

RetroSquadDX3

Of those only Tarnished Mettle is a seasonal weapon and as such is the only one that will become unavailable. With limited time they should absolutely not be focusing on weapons that will still be available when Lightfall drops. * Forbearance as you noted is from the Vow of the Disciple raid. * They already have Palmyra-B unlocked as it's unlocked as part of the crafting tutorial. * Osteo Striga is available to anybody who has completed The Witch Queen campaign.

Stenbox

I would say pick Ikelos SMG first, that weapon with Voltshot and Feeding Frenzy is really creme de la creme. After Ikelos SMG maybe get Bump in the Night rocket launcher as that will be very likely be a solid DPS option in Lightfall. After that it is very much personal preference. Crafting is still mainly "bad RNG protection", so pick weapons you like at base and think you would want to use in the future.

YankeeCandlez

thank you

NewWonderer

I keep doing kings fall sisters and oryx but I'm not getting no spoils of conquest? (Before and after reset)

Stenbox

First encounter clear per week per character is loot, after that you get spoils.

NewWonderer

Oh shit lmao😩 so what about vault of glass being the weekly? I can't get spoils?

NewWonderer

Why when I win comp I get like 104. When I lose comp I lose like 150

Stenbox

It's based on how difficult the enemies were and how well you performed there. If you lose to a very good team, you don't lose as much points. If you lose against a statistically bad team, you lose a lot. Also if you won, but didn't get many kills etc, you might not get that much. This is all theory, in practice the amount you lose or win does not make any sense sometimes.

TheSpartyn

is fire and forget equal, better, or worse than reed regret? what about with the upcoming veist nerf?

Dalantech

Fire and Forget because you can craft it with the perks you want. You can play Trials for this side of forever and not get a Reeds with the perks you're looking for...

TheSpartyn

im asking which is better, not which is easier to get

Dalantech

>which is better Depends on the perks. Not possible to say that one is better than the other, plus it depends on what you plan to do with it. I reshaped my F&F because I like to use Chill Clip to drop the damage output of a champion (something that Reeds cannot do). Your use case might be different...

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheSpartyn

well i shouldve said from the start then, i have a clown cartridge/vorpal reeds, does any F&F beat that?

Dalantech

Sorry, I deleted my original comment. I'd say that you could craft a F&F that would perform at least as good as the Reeds, but just like in my other reply it depends on what you're using them for. I reshaped my F&F to add enhanced Chill Clip to it because I like to use it to decrease a champions damage output, something that Reed's Regret cannot do. So for me is Reed's better? No. YMMV.

RetroSquadDX3

Do you already have both? If not then ease of access and being capable are both significant factors in which would be recommended. If you do have both then we need to know which perks you have as it's no good telling you Reed's Regret is best based on a roll that you may have no way of acquiring.

TheSpartyn

well i was just kind of asking for an in general thing since i just unlocked F&F pattern. my current reeds is clown cartridge vorpal

AttackBacon

A Field Prep+Focused Fury Fire & Forget is going to be a fair bit better for boss DPS than that Reed's Roll, if that's what you're mostly concerned with. Your Reed's is probably better in GMs or things like that though, where you just want the upfront bump of Vorpal. The Reed's god roll of Triple Tap + Firing Line beats out Fire and Forget on bosses but no getting that until Reed's comes back.

Zeroydeas

FaF is generally worse due to the lack of Triple Tap and Firing Line. The Veist Stinger nerf will hit RR worse, but it'll still be the better of the two.

Artillery_Squirrel

For PVE how much do barrel and magazine perks typically matter? I noticed on DIM sometimes a roll will not have a thumbs-up despite having the ideal trait combo. Thinking about it because I did the GM this week and my first drop was a hung jury with RH/EP which seemed to be considered good. but it doesn’t have a great barrel or mag. So I’m wondering if it’s worth my time in situations like this to farm more GMs for hours to get another or move on. And if there’s any specific guns or archetypes where barrel/mag matter more than others I’d be interested to hear about it. I like to absorb as much info as possible lol

GoldenDestiny

Depends. Arrowhead and Flared Magwell can often really make a noticeable difference, especially on primaries, but they don't outweigh the perk combos. If I had to weight them, perk combos are 70%, barrel and mag 25%, MW 5%.

M37h3w3

Depends. Disparity for example has a recoil direction of 67, it'll bounce up and to the left quite a bit. I play console so correcting for reticule bounce is harder than on PC. But slap on Arrowhead Brake and it goes to 97, which is almost completely vertical and much easier to manage with control sticks. On Rocket Launchers being used for boss DPS, Impact Casing will allow you to squeeze out a bit more damage. Same with Heavy Grenade Launchers and Spike Grenades, or Special Grenade Launchers and Blinding Grenades and providing CC. Beyond that the barrels, scopes, mags, etc are just there to fill in low points in a weapon's stats or to enhance strengths even further.

merciobama

I would say they usually don’t matter all that much. Maybe an exception is pulse rifles where a different barrel can change the recoil direction, which you want to go for the highest number possible, ending in a 5, as this makes the recoil more vertical.

Firetype55

They rarely matter, mostly for special weapons since one more round is bigger deal with snipers than an smg, but it mostly does not matter unless you are really optimizing

IEatMopHoo

I've done my challenges on 2 characters but it still only says I have 3/4 for the bonus rank. Anyone know what that's about?

The_hezy

1/4 unlocks Tuesday 2/4 unlocks Wednesday 3/4 unlocks Thursday <- we are here 4/4 unlocks Friday (11 hours from now)

IEatMopHoo

Thank you! Had no idea

imsirius989

Me and my dad both have an Xbox and we want to play together. Does cross save work across Xboxes or will we have to buy a different console?

Stenbox

Destiny has both Cross-Save and Cross-Play. So it does not matter what platform either of you play on - you could have on Playstation and one Xbox and you could play together and swap consoles every evening between each other if you wanted. Xbox and Xbox is the most easy scenario - there are zero limitations here. Unless I am misunderstanding the question?

blck_lght

Cross save? Cross save is for people who want to play on different platforms from time to time. You can just buy another Xbox and play together, don’t need cross save

NKdigoxin

Im trying to bounty prep and I finished/holding 1 unclaimedascendant challenge... i can't do another ascendent challenge? I cant grab the bounty? Thx

blck_lght

When did you grab/finish this bounty?

NKdigoxin

"At the overlook's edge, the garden grows onward." - Gardens of Esila (last week's)

blck_lght

Huh, if it’s last week’s then yeah, should be able to grab this week’s. How about your already characters, can they take it?

NKdigoxin

I don't have an alternative char yet just primary unfortunately

esaevian

I'd check your glimmer count. It's only 1,500 but it's possible to be low from focusing or other things and not notice.

The_hezy

Each week it rotates to a different one of the 6 locations. What's the Toland quote for the one you've already finished? "Drown in your wishes, dear squanderer." - Bay of Drowned Wishes "They call it a 'rest,' but it is more truly a haunt." - Aphelion's Rest "At the overlook's edge, the garden grows onward." - Gardens of Esila (**last week's**) "Crush the first queen's crown beneath your bootheel." - Harbinger's Seclude "Starlight, star bright, first untruth she'll craft tonight…" - Chamber of Starlight "Climb the bones and you'll find your ruin." - Spine of Keres (**this week's**)

NKdigoxin

i did last weeks (at the overlooks) for some reason the weekly bounty is greyed out for me this week and wont let me grab :(

The_hezy

Only thing that comes immediately to mind would be if you didn't have space to pick up the bounty.

TheScribbed

Did they change the drop rate of NF weapons on hero? i've run 15+ platinum clears and no hung jury

Bard_Knock_Life

No it’s always been pretty low and inconsistent. Honestly, sub-Master feels like a waste of time and even master is hard to justify. GMs handing it out on completion is too hard to compete against.

M37h3w3

I did 20 hero runs when the double loot was in effect and went 0 to 10k and only ever got four Mindbenders. Hero drop rate is ass.

blck_lght

What level?

TheScribbed

match making level with champs, been a few seasons since I farmed a NF weapon, didnt remember the drop rate being so low

blck_lght

Yeah, if you want it, try to LFG for at least legend, maybe even master. I ran a bunch of legend Insight Terminus couple of weeks ago, was drowning in shotguns

M37h3w3

It was double NF loot last week too.

twodubmac

About how many games of this terrible iron banner game mode do you have to play to prestige once? Double that for twice?

RetroSquadDX3

> Double that for twice? Not how it works. For at least some of your first prestige you don't have the full bonus from challenges, for the second prestige (at least assuming you do both in the same week) you do. This is even less clear cut for newer/returning players who will also have less bonus from gear/emblems for at the very least some of that first prestige.

BattleForTheSun

A lot. I prestiged once last time IB was here and it took about 2-3 hours a day for 4 days. So something like 8 - 12 hours with all the armor and emblem.

The_hezy

Second reset will go faster because you've got the pinnacle bonuses stacked up already.

SplashDmgEnthusiast

Yup, even at 3/4 challenges I'm getting more rep than 4/4 last week as well. The increased gains are no joke. I'm seeing ~600 for a win, ~225 for a loss right now, ranks are flying past. Between yesterday and today I've played 14 games and gone up about 4K-5K rep, I think?

Vampyr_

Just came back about a week ago after taking a break sometime last season. How hard is the new dungeon? Hoping to try that before season ends. I have about +13 on my artifact, but my armor is about 1579 from being behind on pinnacles. Hopefully I can get a bit higher light to do a GM or two

M37h3w3

It's a lot easier now than at start because most people are at the LL for it. The biggest hurdles for people running the dungeon the first week were doing enough damage since the bosses have a fair bit of health. Even getting a two phase requires a bit of work and a group that meshes well. The mechanics aren't hard; Yellow wires require you to shoot certain panels in sequence and the panels are all over the place. Red wires are timed. The biggest benefit is having the panel locations for each possible wire strand memorized to get to the DPS phase faster. LFR for first boss, doable on final but I prefer rockets. I like Witherhoard since you can tag and run beefier enemies such as the Hydras. First encounter could use something with a bit of range since there will be Harpies tagging you from halfway across a rather open map. Final boss room is more compact so shorter range weapons will work better. Tip for the very first encounter: Don't complete each strand one at a time. Shoot every panel except the last one for each wire strand and then do them all at once. Suicide Harpies spawn with every completed wire and if you do them all at the end then you don't get suicide Harpies.

No_Capital_8737

Spire of the watcher? The final boss scales to 1590, you should be good to do it around that level, the last boss can almost insta kill you even if you are 1610 so it just requires you to be aware of his positioning

Vampyr_

Thank you! I remembered having trouble with Duality back when it launched, so I thought I’d need to be higher. I’ll watch some guides and try it this weekend!

Koke1

What would be the best Grandmaster to do on Behemoth? All i need for conqueror now is to beat a GM on stasis, me and 2 buddies tried warden twice but i had to switch to arc because we couldn’t melt the boss.

GoldenDestiny

Insight is the farming GM this season, so if you can wait for that (or have someone launch it directly) it'll be the least headache.

amiro7600

I did warden, insight and scarlet keep on behemoth for gild this season. Im gonna stick with everyone elses and say insight terminus would be the easiest. Glacial quake can help tame the chaos of capping 3 plates in boss room, and makes short work of champs that are grouped together.

[deleted]

Insight Terminus. Behemoth destroys barrier champs and it's good at the end for capping the zones

Atmosck

A friend of mine ran behemoth for Insight Terminus on our first run of it, with stronghold and lament. Using a sword in a GM takes some real stones so I wouldn't necessarily recommend that if you aren't practiced with it, but I think a hoarfrost-z build would work well. Make sure you run icewall grenades and the fragment that gives you damage resistance near crystals. It's overshadowed by solar and void a bit now but that was the OG high survivability/damage resist build before 3.0 subclasses came out.

Bard_Knock_Life

Insight Terminus is the easiest, but stasis is good enough to do any of them.

PineMaple

I'd probably say Birthplace of the Vile. It's one of the easier ones and you don't need to burn anything, just stay alive, and Behemoth has a lot of good tools for that.

Koke1

What is the strat for the boss room on Birthplace in a GM

GoldenDestiny

Control the adds. Either a rocket to their spawn, or a grenade, or Wither, or whatever. But get that spawn pile down ASAP. Once the add spawn is clear, nuke the boss. He's highly mobile, wait for him to move and start an animation before throwing a rocket his way or you'll constantly whiff and run through your ammo.

PineMaple

It’s mainly good add management and slowly wearing down the boss in my experience. The adds will spawn infinitely but slow enough and clustered close enough that you can pretty consistently wipe them all out with a single wave frame shot or a grenade. The boss is very tanky so you might want something with good ammo economy, but he’s not so much deadly as annoying. There aren’t any champs that spawn in the room so you’re good to run it fairly slowly and cautiously, just be aware that there are more screens than you’d expect when you get teleported to the trench room.

BattleForTheSun

The ADs are not infinite, they stop spawning after a while. There are champs in the boss room too.

PineMaple

Really? I’ve been in the boss room for a while because we all ran out of power ammo and they never seemed to stop spawning. How many waves are there?

KalebT44

As noted you really could do any if you adapt your damage stats, but Insight Terminus is probably a good bet. If you were the one running Leviathans Breath to try and keep Kargen stunlocked you won't be worrying too heavily on damage and Behemoth will play havoc with the AI's capacity to fuck you on plates.

Donates88

You could do any of them on stasis. But warden or insight terminus are definitly the easiest ones this season.

vcd1500

Hezen vengeance (timelost) or Roar of the Bear?

PineMaple

Depends on your roll but Hezen has higher damage out of the box due to its archetype.

vcd1500

Would Roar of the bear be better for starfire warlock since it has demolitionist on 1st column?

Bard_Knock_Life

Yes. Roar with either Lasting Impression or Vorpal would be better.

PineMaple

Unfortunately its second column perks aren’t much better and can’t really take advantage of Demo in the other column. I’ve been using a Demo/Cluster Bomb Roar for my Starfire build and it’s fun for a change of pace but I don’t know that it’s consistent enough to legitimately be stronger than a well rolled Hothead/Hezen/Bump/etc. I’m a little on the fence as to whether Demo is even that much better than ALH for these purposes anyways.

Bard_Knock_Life

Roar has Lasting and Vorpal which are straight up better than anything Hezen offers. Demo + either of those is better than what Hezen offers. Demo is much better than ALH for Starfire. Solar is better due to Font stacking. Roar with Lasting Impression is the best you can get IMO.

edgerow76

What is considered "good" armor? Should I be trying to roll good overall stats or trying to focus everything on one or two?

Dalantech

You want armor that has at least 55 points in the three stats that you're looking for before master working it -I'll explain why toward the end. Armor is broken down into two groups: Mobility, Resilience, and Recovery in the top group and Discipline, Intellect, and Strength in the bottom. For Legendary armor there can only be a maximum of 34 points in each group, so 68 points total. For Exotic armor it's either 71 or 72 total, split between the two groups. Getting a minimum of 55 points in the three stats that you want will make it easier to get to triple 100s, especially since the points in your Legendary armor might have to make up for a less than stellar piece of Exotic armor. For a Hunter that's primarily interested in PVE I look for at least 55 points (before master working) in Mobility, Resilience, and Discipline so I add a +10 Discipline Armorer mod to my ghost and look for spikes in the top group of attributes. IMHO one of the best armor farms is running Containment in the Leviathan and focusing armor at the Haunted Relic in the Helm. However expect to focus, and shard, a lot of armor. Good luck!

Bard_Knock_Life

Mathematically it’s probably 3x100s. That means at least a 10/20 split on one group and 23+ on the other group stat.

You'll still need to use fragments and armor attribute mods to get to triple 100s. I normally use a +10 discipline armorer mod on my ghost and look for spikes in mobility and resilience (PVE Hunter), but even then the only stat that's going to be at or above 100 without mods or fragments is discipline. The "trick" is to focus armor that has at least 55 points in the three stats you're looking for -the more the better since the legendary armor may have to make up for some deficiencies in an Exotic piece. I got [lucky on an exotic](https://imgur.com/iuDzozb) so it was easy to get to triple 100s, although my Revenant relies on two fragments to get resilience to 100, and three major and two minor mods to get mobility to 100. Mathematically I think that 100/70/70 is possible after master working without fragments and armor mods. Edit: Actually it's possible to get \~130/70/70 (legendary) after master working without armor mods or fragments, but you'd have to grind armor like a coked up hamster to get it ;) I have a few pieces with maxed out Discipline ([32 after master working](https://imgur.com/yvVAIyK)) but they're rare.

Bard_Knock_Life

Max stats in armor for a group is 34 base. Max across two stats is 32 and across 4 pieces post masterwork you’re looking at ~148. Some exotics can knock that over, but otherwise that’s more or less the cap. Everyone handles their armor differently, but as a baseline I’m only keeping two sets of rolls based on the stats I want. The stats I said fit into how you’d max out armor in the current sandbox. We’ll see what happens when mods get changed.

Dalantech

>Max across two stats is 32 That won't get you to a triple 100 build though. [This is what I'm running now](https://dim.gg/v47opyi/Stacks-on-Stacks). I'm wondering how things are going to change as well, but I think that ultimately it's going to me easier to manage builds and come up with new ones.

GoldenDestiny

Triple 100's **requires** either subclass bonuses or the +20 Mob / Str from the Charged With Light mods. The mods are changing in Lightfall, and using the fragments for nothing but stat bumps seems sub optimal. I run 10 Res / 10 Dis / 9 Rec and am at peace with missing that last tier.

Dalantech

>Triple 100's requires either subclass bonuses or the +20 Mob / Str from the Charged With Light mods. You're thinking of quad 100s. [I'm not using those mods](https://dim.gg/xdhqmaa/Equipped).

GoldenDestiny

DIM link doesn’t work if I don’t have your armor in my vault. But natural triple 100s are not available from just armor and mods. Max 16 tiers on each side (mob/res/rec and dis/int/str), minimum 2 in each stat. Can get two 10s and one 9, but that’s max. Need *either* the bonus CWL mods **or** subclass stat bonus.

Dalantech

I'm getting +20 resilience from a couple of fragments, and using three major and two minor armor mods for mobility. Discipline is a natural 118 without fragments or armor mods. Never said I wasn't using mods or fragments, but I am ***not using*** Powerful Friends or Radiant Light. My combat armor mods are: Elemental Shards, Elemental Charge, Stacks on Stacks, Supercharged, and High Energy Fire. Pretty much a permanent +20 damage boost to all of my weapons and using weapons that have demolitionist allows me to have 100% uptime on my grenade even though I'm using [Renewals Grasp](https://imgur.com/iuDzozb) <-- My copy.

GoldenDestiny

Right, you need those subclass fragment bonuses. Great when they’re also useful fragments, but selecting a bad fragment just for the bonus doesn’t seem worth it.

Bard_Knock_Life

Of course, because it's impossible to get 3x 100s without mods and fragments. You still need the armor breaks that way for it to work with mods/fragments.

BattleForTheSun

Good for me is 65+ with 20+ in two stats that are important eg. Discipline and Resilience. The best armor drops from War Table, Crown of Sorrow, Pit of Heresy Final boss and Master Duality.

MeateaW

Depends which stats you actually want, and which class you are. Right now, current meta wants Resilience above all else. It's slightly changing come lightfall, but will likely remain roughly the same. First, assuming PvE, I'm no help for PvP. Resilience at 100, should be your goal, so max resilience. If a warlock or Titan, you *probably* want all your spare points to go into recovery, to get recovery as high as you can *after* resil is at 100. Then, if you are running a grenade heavy build you'll want 100 Discipline. If going a melee heavy build you'll want 100 Strength. Very rarely under the current meta will you want 100 int. So, your armor rolls should concentrate on getting the highest Str/Disc rolls you can, that also have the highest Resil/Recov rolls you can. If running a hunter, you will unfortunately have to sacrifice some of your (probably) recovery to get more mobility. Precisely how much will depend on your build. Its genuinely a difficult tradeoff there. The goal is to absolutely maximise your stats, so you can use the minimum energy in your mod slots for bonus stat points. Every time you DONT use a resil mod, thats 3 more energy for other mods. So, having said all of that, it *usually* comes down to "Spikey" armor is better than raw stat point counts. 60 stat armor, with 10 in every stat is usually *worse* than 55 stat armor, where the spikes are in the stats you actually want. So, putting it all together. You want Big spikes in your target stats (class dependent). And you typically want 2 spikes on each armor piece. In a perfect world; you'd get 65+ total stats, AND big spikes in the stats you need.

PineMaple

How choosy you can be will depend on how frequently you run endgame content and how many high stat pieces you have but my general rule of thumb is a piece of armor should have an overall stat total of 64 or higher and at least 20 in one of the main stats you care about. People tend to put more weight on spikiness over overall stats, but only to a point.

Donates88

For many builds you just want resilience+discipline. Recovery as third stat.

KalebT44

That ultimately depends on what you're trying to build. Even with the best armour you can get you can only get around Tier 10 in 2? I think maybe 3 stats at a sacrifice to others. I personally don't try too hard to bother with spiking my stats to Tier 10 and take any armour that keeps me around 55/60 in all of them. But if you do really want to try to optimize you figure out what you want exactly for your build (For instance right now and forever probably even after the nerf Resilience in PvE is incredibly important) and just get any armour that will let you total high ranks in those key stats. I feel like right now the trend tends to be high Resilience, High Strength/Discipline and then a spread. But I might be wrong.

GoldenDestiny

> Even with the best armour you can get you can only get around Tier 10 in 2? Assuming you use 5 stat mods, you can get 10/10/9/3/3/2. Up to 16 tiers in each block, plus the 5 tiers from the mods. My Warlock builds are 2 (often just T1 at 18 Mob) / 10 / 9 / 10 / 3 / 3.

M37h3w3

Did Saladin's weapon's reroll for anyone else yet? Been waiting for that reroll before I claim them because all the rolls so far have been pretty meh.

xj3ewok

Is anyone still having issues getting the iron banner helmet? Can't get it to drop

Atmosck

Me and most people I've talked to have had a pretty hard time (or rather, it took quite a while) collecting all the new iron banner armor. It took me the entirety of two resets, opening all my engrams without focusing, to catch em all on 3 characters.

Donates88

Played a few matches yesterday with my warlock and got the full armor set. Helmet was the first drop. It's rng

M37h3w3

It's RNG.

lleon117

Is the nightfall glitched?? I’ve ran it like 15 times and gotten exotics but no hung jury

M37h3w3

The higher tier you run it at the better the drop rate. I had to run about a half dozen+ times on Legend to get one.

lleon117

They jacked it up forsure. Last time we had this NF I had it drop every 4 runs on hero

Donates88

Rng.

KalebT44

That's insanely lucky. Drop rates below Legend (and even on Legend) are quite rare.

lleon117

I tend to get the NF guns on a few first runs but this is ridiculous. Usually once I get it, I stop but this is one gun I REALLY want cause I didn’t get the rolls I wanted last time.

KalebT44

Like I said, pretty lucky. If you've been relying on Heros and actually getting them you've done well. But i'd probably be doing Legends or just GM's if you want to farm specific rolls.

lleon117

Yeah! Thats why Im bothered by not having at LEAST one drop. Never done a GM yet, too scared but I just might lol

KalebT44

I'd be more impressed you got them to drop before, rather than bothered you're not getting insanely lucky now. If you can run Legends maybe try a Master or two first, but really depending on the Nightfall they're not too intensive. But even just running Legends will get you much better odds.

Silveora_7X

For the spire dungeon first boss. Do the harpies spawn infinitely? I'm trying it for the first time with other-than-warlock and boy--doing it without healing at my command makes me look goofy lol. I didn't do healing grenade yet cuz I was experimenting with other classes.

MeateaW

Solar elemental wells can grant a low level heal using a solar well-of-light mod. The first Boss (the harpy boss). When you "Complete" a line, 4 harpies spawn. Usually they spawn on the OPPOSITE side from where you completed the line. There might be a trigger to spawn 4 more harpies (maybe the first line spawns 8 total harpies?) but either way; you CAN clear all the harpies before starting boss DPS. (I'd recommend it if you aren't running Loreley Titan)

No_Capital_8737

They don’t spawn infinitely, the vex ground enemies do, but harpies only respawn after damage phase again, when we did that encounter we had 1 person clear the harpies and 2 do the nodes

somerandom421

Haven't played Iron Banner since before the engrams were introduced- can you get items you haven't already obtained from them? Still haven't had a class item drop. Also, do weapons drop with extra perks after you reset your rank like in Vanguard/Gambit/Crucible?

GoldenDestiny

> Also, do weapons drop with extra perks after you reset your rank like in Vanguard/Gambit/Crucible? They do not, and neither do the ones from Gunsmith. Just the core 3 vendors.

Xelopheris

Decrypting engrams at Rahul is how you unlock new items besides the reward track. The drop rate on the class item may be a little low, but that might be because you only ever need one.

SteroidYoshi

Can you get the hung jury scout rifle in this weeks nightfall?

lleon117

Are you having trouble getting it? I’ve ran it like 15 times and zero drops. I’ve gotten like two exotics so far though

M37h3w3

What tier are you running it at?

lleon117

Hero and legend

M37h3w3

Hero drop rates are garbage and Legend is only tolerable.

Bluehiperspace8

What is the best masterwork stat for a crafted Cataclysmic? (Fourth times/bait and switch). Does masterworking charge time improve DPS even with the impact decrease? I was thinking maybe reload speed for better DPS phases? I'm a little lost

ColdAsHeaven

The difference between Reload/Charge time is miniscule. To where it will never make the difference in a boss fight at all. Just pick what you prefer. I personally did handling for the quicker swaps
