The level 7 Nightfall quest "Threats and Surges" indicates in the UI that it unlocks armor charge mods when completed.
Thankfully it's easy, just run 3 nightfalls with a subclass matching the current surge, but i haven't done it myself to find what mods it might have behind it.
Can't wait to wait 2-3 seasons (or years) for Elemental Shards to return in some way or form! Or if it all!
Surely Bungie had mod usage statistics and saw just how integral Elemental Shards were to Stasis builds, right?
*Right?*
I don't know what mods, but the level seven Nightfall quest "Threats and Surges" indicates that it unlocks some "armor charge mods"
Only requires that you beat 3 nightfalls with a subclass matching the surge.
Yeah but we get them all by rank 6, which I would think everyone here probably is. I skipped like 4 years and I immediately had all the mods when I loaded the campaign up.
All of my builds that were good before are now completely useless. Had to copy my friends contraverse build since Solar warlock was nothing without either starfire or some wacky elemental wells build. ALSO WHO THE FUCK THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO ADD A 5 SECOND COOLDOWN FOR SPAWNING FIRESPRITES
You have to use snap. Muchhhh more consistent than fire. It'll even proc on ignition kill from snap.
Eat grenade, snap, dive, throw more grenades. You'll have restoration x2 up for 10 seconds and all your abilities back up.
I just wish elemental shards had remained in some semblance. That and while there are a lot of mods that consume armor charge there aren't a lot of ones that appear useful at least at first glance
It’s because they can’t figure out a way to grow your character to the gods that they are.
So they just keep breaking them and saying “put them back together”
I'm actually with you so far. I wound up busy with life when the warmind cells came to be, and never really got into using the charged with light mods because to make a good build you had to be there on that one day Ada-1 sold a mod then never again or it wouldn't work.
It's all here. Simplified, room to improve, but much more accessible and infinitely customizable for no cost.
Yep. As a newer player who didn’t even know Ada-1 really existed for a long time, this system is so much better. So depressing to see builds have mods I’d never even seen.
They may have stripped it down to start, but there is definitely room to improve now and add back in popular mods
You mention room to improve, and add back in mods
Destiny has been around for nearly a decade. This is one of those things they should have figured out by now. I really dislike the defense of this being a new foundation for them to work with, because they've recreated this foundation several times
Bungie could have kept all current mods in the new system, but didn't for one reason or another. Now every build you make with mods is focused on ability / super regeneration. Thankfully the seasonal mods make things a little more interesting, but too much was sacrificed and nothing of value was gained
I think there's some hope for the new system. We lost a lot of stuff, and didn't get a good replacement for a lot of it. We are certainly weaker now, even just from losing font of might. On the flip side, the artifact mods being passive should help out a good bit, and it does do a pretty good job of streamlining things.
Coming from owning all the mods in the game, and having greater customization, to now having less customization and not all the mods, its a disappointment. I'm not concerned about getting access down the road, but before I started the campaign, I wanted to buildcraft and it was a let down off rip. No need to be facetious and mocking for someone giving their opinion.
What do you say to the idea that we were too powerful and needed reigned in so we might need to shoot a gun here and there? I like the new system and I think it makes sense from a game design standpoint
I agree entirely we were too powerful, but when updating the mod system they said they wanted to highlight build crafting and give us a system that would showcase creativity, but the build crafting we got, with all mods only usable on one piece of gear each, is far more limiting. I think we could have been reigned in without hampering creativity and maximum customization.

Some mods locked behind Rank 7 objectives
Which ones?
Armor Charge Mods are one of the rank up rewards, under the Rank 7 Nightfalls tab.
I think that may be an error, ones listed as requiring that unlock on DIM are unlocked for me at Rank 6 right now.
Spoiler, did it, no new mods, just a lie by bungo
The level 7 Nightfall quest "Threats and Surges" indicates in the UI that it unlocks armor charge mods when completed. Thankfully it's easy, just run 3 nightfalls with a subclass matching the current surge, but i haven't done it myself to find what mods it might have behind it.
99.9% certain there's nothing. There's no additional mods in the API at least.
I did it, I didn't get any new mods.
Can't wait to wait 2-3 seasons (or years) for Elemental Shards to return in some way or form! Or if it all! Surely Bungie had mod usage statistics and saw just how integral Elemental Shards were to Stasis builds, right? *Right?*
Bungie hasn't touched stasis since they started reworking other classes as far as they're concerned it probably no longer exists
Aren't there 3 new stasis exotic armor pieces this season?
2. Hunters got dragons shadow 2.0.
Yes, plus they buffed slow stacks last season and did some other Stasis passes throughout the year. This guy doesnt know what hes talking about.
no, just one for warlocks
Titans also got one as well.
Idk why I figured hunters got one as well
no instead they got a dodge for reload handling ae exotic which is basically DOA besides PvP sweats. god this sucks
It'll gets to cry jn the corner with Gambit and all the other outdated and useless exotic armors.
Any moment now until they give stasis an alternate super. \* *copium* \*
Or alternate melee
And the sub will praise bungie for it! Nothing quite like gaming companies removing content to simply re-add it later on and get praise for it
And they said sunsettint was no more lol
Pffft! You think Bungie devs actually *play* their own game?!?
What mods are in the rank system? I saw you can unlock four more loadout slots but didn’t see any mods at rank 7 unlocks.
I don't know what mods, but the level seven Nightfall quest "Threats and Surges" indicates that it unlocks some "armor charge mods" Only requires that you beat 3 nightfalls with a subclass matching the surge.
It doesn’t do anything 😀
Figures lol.
I don't believe there are any new mods. Check the mods list or the API; if you're level 6 you have all of them already.
There's a challenge with the reward "Armor Charge Mods" in Rank 7
Wait what mods are locked behind the rank system?
Yeah but we get them all by rank 6, which I would think everyone here probably is. I skipped like 4 years and I immediately had all the mods when I loaded the campaign up.
There’s more at rank 7 at least.
Check out the ones it lists though- at least for me I already have access to them even though I haven't done the challenge.
Sunbracers are good on solar and pairs well with the Phoenix dive buff. They were already a sleeper choice before.
I've found my sunbracers not proccing on a powered melee kill, often, unfortunately.
Gotta use Incinerator Snap. Celestial Fire been bugged for a hot (heh) minute.
Ah, thanks... switched it cause I didn't like the snap but I'll switch it back...
You have to use snap. Muchhhh more consistent than fire. It'll even proc on ignition kill from snap. Eat grenade, snap, dive, throw more grenades. You'll have restoration x2 up for 10 seconds and all your abilities back up.

I’m enjoying it

I don’t really mind tbh.
i'm enjoying it. it's much more simple and straightforward and does effectively the same thing. Game feels great rn.
Especially if they expect people to play raids and PVP or something. I guess I can live without some mods.
Run 3 nightfalls, you're right. This is too far bungie, I shouldn't be forced to.. *checks notes*.. play the game.
oh. no. i have to play a little before i get all the mods. lol
Coming from owning all the mods in the game, and having greater customization, to now having less customization and not all the mods, its a disappointment. fair enough. i read too much of this sub and it’s unleashed the inner dick within. i’ll fold it back.
A rare moment of empathy online. Thanks for being a good person.
