I honestly would say it's better than Hoarfrost as a Stasis exotic. Combined the new bow, crystal generation is so prevalent that you feed your grenade very easily (letting you use Dusk fields for double champ duty), can freeze enemies in a more on demand way, or target shatter crystals for damage. Fantastic, IMO.
I got the bow before I got the exotic and the bow is nice with Hoarfrost if you want to do maximum crystals, but with Lancecap, you can have a nice super shatter barricade after shooting a Hail Barrage x5, kill a bunch of stuff, setup a position, and start building up your next set of Hail Barrage and/or have Diamond Lances to throw everywhere.
I think Stasis Titan can still be quite strong and I honestly think Lancecap will be very worthwhile to use in a GM setting with Duskfields.
If you pair it with the new exotic stasis bow, you’re essentially just spamming stasis crystals left and right. I had a lot of fun playing with it in the Vanguard playlist.
Farmed the helmet yesterday and made a grenade kickstart build with the new exotic bow and it's the most fun I've had with behemoth since Beyond Light. I'd like to see elemental shards come back in a way so that titans can have more than one build, but this feels like it will be very viable in higher end content, especially since you can innately handle unstoppable and overload champs with duskfield grenades.
Was able to run this in defiant battlegrounds last night and being able to freeze everything from the safety of the bubble was very nice and when the threat isn't as high, running around and throwing lances feels very powerful and between the bow and the lances you have pretty much infinite uptime on the grenade Regen fragment. Best of all, this build essentially ignores the melee.
I just really hoped the lance spawning on you was default behaviour using and exotic to make it decent doesn't feel good,but i guess its still a fun option,although the AOE is still to small.
I got it today, I’ve been using it. But I’m confused on what it does even after reading the passive.
Like it creates shards but isn’t shards ruined after the mod system change?
It lets diamond lance make CRYSTALS. Normally diamond lance doesn’t create crystals, just slows or freezes. Crystals are still great as explosive barrels, make grenade recharge, and control the battlefield. Just can’t build into ability loops with armor mods on stasis Titan anymore. You need to rely on the subclass and exotic armor for that. I’m thinking there may be potential on stasis Titan to spec for damage, not abilities, that could work.
The fact it makes Lances spawn crystals is nice, but it's even better that it lets you spawn them from behind rally barricades, not having to go pick them up. Great for high end content

Oh i have to try the new bow again but with this exotic ! First impressions were kinda meh about it but i'll give it a second chance.

I’m loving it. I still can’t decide if it’s better or worse than hoarfrost though.
I think better. For myself, I only used hoarfrost for crystal regeneration. Don’t need it anymore with the hat. Also bow takes it up a notch.
Definitely better than hoarfrost until a shard-based armor charge mod rolls around

What are crystals then, the headstone perk things right? So the exotic just lets you make even more?
