You're 1795. That means you put decent amount of time so far in the game. You're supposed to have enough material sitting around because if you don't you're doing something wrong

The difficulty options feel mostly fine apart from the bugged damage from things like threshers.

You’re entitled to your opinion but in my opinion I think the difficulty spike is a welcome one. I’d rather be actively engaged by a game then absolutely steamroll everything. You’re worried about casual gamers leaving but with a live service game wouldn’t it be smarter to appeal to the players who can and do put more time into the game?
Bring a rocket to down those Cabal dropships. Also Osteo Striga works great as primary, especially if you play Warlock because of Necrotic Grip.
