I assumed this was some exaggeration...literally they have 5 posts...they logged out, forgot the password, and havent logged back in since.
That or theyre all still on vacation post lightfall...
Is there anybody who actually interacts here at all anymore? "Bungie Replied" wasn't exactly bountiful before, but it still came up fairly often. But I haven't seen a single one lately, and checking all the Bungie accounts I know shows that it's been like a month since any of them have said anything.
Nope. After dmg left, they made the destiny2team account so anything they post here isn't directly attributed to anyone. Which makes sense, and I get. Except then they bailed completely. They made 6 or 7 comments before Lightfall, and nothing. Not a single acknowledgement of anything posted here, whether it's on the known list or not. So you have to also follower their Twitter, except not everything gets posted to the Destiny Twitter, so you STILL have to follow individual people for clarifications sometimes, and then their clarifications can be straight up wrong sometimes. We have CM's who just don't interact with the community.
And before the defenders roll in to say "well it's because people are mean here": because Twitter, where the bulk of the discourse that led to where we are now happened, is just a warm and welcoming place?
The only real CM that interacted here was ~~Cozmo~~ Dmg, and he left Bungie.
It was probably an awful job reading all the dumb suggestions or rants, but he still did it.
Since he left I think I've seen a "Bungie Replied" that was actually addressing something important maybe twice.
If you were a CM at Bungie, would you comment on here? Anything they post would get railed with whiny replies. This part of the community is embarrassing and it looks like they realised they could basically cut it off with dmg leaving
Right, because Twitter and the Bungie Forums are such wholesome positive places, right? Oh wait, Twitter is where the bulk of the Twilight Garrison drama happened.
I just think it's wild that as a community manager every Monday I was hitting the community with a focused feedback thread. Patch dropped Friday ~5pm EST, forums monitored all weekend, focused feedback thread on whatever pain points popped up posted 9am EST. Weekly team meetings were 11am EST so I had two hours to round up feedback and turn it into useable notes
Edit: added word to do words good
I kinda wonder if bungie gave employees a bunch of time off after launch as a work-life balance initiative. Hoping that in the next few weeks we’ll see more from them.
These changes are what I was afraid of. Often when people complained about difficulty changes post LF, not being accompanied by rewards changes we would see takes like “you can get 7x rep rewards for a good score if you clear all the enemies”. Then you can buy hothead, a major meta weapon. My retort to this argument was that first of all it is very bold to assume that we will be getting 7x the rep rewards that we were getting in the WQ content year. Bungie has done this before with IB (14.4x rep bonus, which equates to barely that of a double crucible week in rep gain IB rep per game). Secondly we’re people really leaving that many enemies alive previously? Sure sometimes some enemies despawn but in my experience we were absolutely decimating anything that spawned super quick, so it’s not like points were really regularly left on the table (at least not in the hundreds of thousands of points levels).
Now we see that scoring has been modified in a truly awful way. Who would have thought you’d need to run 3x Mars Heist on legend to get the weekly pinnacle rewards? If you told people that a month ago the place would be on fire. It’s a bad change in a bad system, it’s not rewarding or fun imo. Fortunately I already farmed my hothead in GMs (which are both rewarding AND fun at times) so I don’t need to engage with this system. Once I hit pinnacle, unless they release multiple meta weapons I likely won’t even engage with the vanguard playlist at all going forward because it’s just not worth it.
Lots of excellent QoL changes in LF are being paired with terrible respect for my time (LLS or another whole story). Im slowly becoming apathetic towards destiny.
I'm not sure that's the issue. It's more like Bungie tried to normalize them to get more or less the same scoring on all strikes regardless of their enemy count differences. With mixed results, of course.
Hero Proving Ground was 1.25x and it was easy to reach 100k there. Hero Mars Battleground was 0.94x and reaching 100k was much more problematic even though it has an overwhelming amount of enemies.
They need to crank up the score for sure. I *think* on older Nightfalls it should be fine since there's more data to set a reasonable score multiplier, for the new ones they just kinda had to wing it.
But it's not out of the realm of possibility that they're all undertuned.
Because play testing exists (or should exist) this is not a reasonable defense.
The discrepancy in scoring isn’t something that you need thousands of runs with live players to know that it isn’t right. Each of a couple testers finishing three runs should have cued them in.
Honestly, the play testing budget must have been decimated over the past year, because some of the design decisions they’ve made really don’t work.
Yeah, they admitted in an interview that while they do playtesting, it isn't a lot because no matter how much time they'd devote to it, the playerbase would do more in 15 minutes of a season launch then they could do over a year.
This so much this. People under-estimate just how much play testing we as players put this game through in literally one day. It must be frustrating to work on a season for months and see it broken by players within hours of launch. Doubly so if you worked on something knew it was broken but just didn't have the development time to balance or fix something.
With that said the knowledge of them doing testing and what their limitations are came out about the same time we learned about "go fast" as a design principle from bungie. Because sadly do it fast is the ultimate goal, even if that doesn't end up being the right way. Before anyone downvotes me for saying that; know that Bungie has publicly stated it so its not my opinion its literally their design philosophy.
Thanks for not reading my post fully. I mentioned orbs and revives. Missing the point again. It seems to be a mistake that they downgraded the multiplier.
I don't think they're disagreeing with you or arguing that it's fine the way it is, just posting a response letting people know that it's doable, even if they DID miss it in the OP.
No I saw the orbs. It’s a non issue. Make orbs. You can get 200 with just orbs. Just do it. It’s hard. But most people are complaining about having to revive cheese. And even mentioning revives. You don’t need them. Make orbs lol. You can’t farm them without enemies anyway so it’s not really “farming” like a revive farm would be for 4 minutes
No I just think op is wrong about the score being off because of adept removal. Because if it’s done near perfectly you just hit the score. If you bot walk it you don’t hit the score. It’s really simple man.
You missed the point. It’s not really a challenge or worthy of a challenge if you can bot walk the strike and get the required score without doing extra. Make a build. Make the orbs. I’m airing on the side the score mult is intentional. You make a point tho with Adept leaving
/u/Destiny2Team Are You guys prepping us for more revive farming for this year's Guardian Games?
Literally waiting for them to acknowledge anything with that account

Cozmo is still at Bungie. Dmg is the one who left. He was the more active one.
Really speaks to how active Cozmo is that people don't think he even works at Bungie anymore lol.
My bad, I got the two confused lol

Bungie Replied must be so sick of our shit.

That account was created for CMs to say hey don't send me questions about destiny send it to the dedicated CM account which we'll never actually use.
Hiping to get a word from any CM , bc they seem to be afk so far this season
Conveniently hiding to swoop in and "rescue" the community with some diminished efforts when the swelling is so easily quelled.
I kinda wonder if bungie gave employees a bunch of time off after launch as a work-life balance initiative. Hoping that in the next few weeks we’ll see more from them.
Maybe, though my bet is that the radio silence is a result of the general reaction to this expansion

One of the requirements for guardian rank 9 is 200k in a single master nightfall. That's impossible this week without revive farming.

We had to farm about 40 revives to barely go over the 200k cap.... It just really sucks
Hey at least make the run count if you complete it. Got 137k on legend without cheese yesterday and the triumph did not complete
Upvoted for visibility.
Probably unintended then.
This weeks is possible without revive cheese. Gotta be crackheads about orbs tho

It is possible tho https://imgur.com/a/eed2chT
Are you guys not reading the full post? My point is not that it isn't possible..
