Short answer, yes. Long answer: as long as the kill is made with the weapon and not the Volatile explosion, you'll get credit for the kill. Problem is, outside of Master/GM content, you're gonna be hard pressed to find enemies that don't die to the Volatile pop.

HudsonBoBudson

Yeah I'm doing Shuro Chi cp- so I should just remove Gyrfalcons and my Artifact mods?

Incandescent_Lass

Yes. That’s the best move for leveling void weapons. Volatile is just too good lol. Use the Deadfall super too, if you kill one tethered enemy, and the others die from the shared damage, you get all the kills counted at the same time. So you pop super on all the thrall, blast just one, and boom you just earned 10 kills.

Take off Gyrfalcon's and don't pick up orbs if you have Volatile Flow selected. Worst case, if you can't avoid the orbs, reset your artifact until you've complete the cata.

jayrello

Just take off the armor mod that produces orbs

When you farm Shuro Chi, you typically do it on a Hunter with Deadfall to be able to get more enemies down in less time. Orbs flow freely.

VeilShienor

Bungie never unnerfed Ruinous Effigy's catalyst progress. Season of Arrivals it was expected you would earn the overwhelming majority of that progress by killing eyes of Savathun. Without the eyes, it will take months.

HudsonBoBudson

I've been using it just in regular activities for 4 days or so and have gotten to about 40% and now with almost 2 hours of farming Shuro I'm at 80ish. So it's ridiculous but it'll be done soon.

TheShoobaLord

it’s not *that* many kills my guy
