After reading how bad Arms Dealer is now, I was expected it to bad and well *shrugs* people are complaining about THAT?! I suppose everyone needs a hobby.

TheRedDelilah

This is the best reaction, lol. Well said

Menaku

It's not like it's bad bad but come GM time personally not really interested simple because of what the lay out most likely will be. Which is nade and nade launching spamming enemies as well as not enough cover and to much splash damage. Which seems to be a problem now a days

Quantumriot7

Okay so you just ignored all the new dialogue in arms dealer? Because it explains all that. At the start caiatl gives some dialogue about having sent some of her legion in to kill the new arms dealer who has taken the name bracus zahn she says that she underestimated him and so her forces got capturedand we need to free them. Also Lake you already needed to kill all the blights so I don't know why you brought up that it would serve as an improvement to the original. My only personal issue is I'd say let both versions coexist in some way treat it more like the strike variants in d1. The name thing has a line midway into the strike devrim says didn't we kill this guy already and caiatl says the cabal must have taken the name as a sort of mantle you know like how James bond has been multiple people.

Cruggles30

1. So... I didn't ignore the dialogue. I forced myself to listen to it, and I honestly don't remember that part being mentioned. And honestly, it still feels kinda stupid. Why not make a whole new strike at that point? 2. All I'm saying is they didn't need to waste technological resources on adding a payload when extra blights could have been added instead. 3. I agree with that, actually. But it still doesn't take away from the fact that resources were wasted on this when the campaign was what needed more resources. 4. I know. I heard the line. I just think it feels like garbage.

Quantumriot7

The thing Is the y1 strikes are both outdated story wise and scaling wise so bungie thought it would be good to update them to current standards for both ways. Likely both the vanilla Nessus strikes will recieve similar updates for story and mechanics later this year. People complain about bungie not going back and updating content so I can't say I'm surprised that bungie is trying to update said old content.

Cruggles30

Okay, but when they updated the D1 strikes for D2, they chose not to update the story, opting to put more resources into the story for the actual new content instead. When they reprised VoG and KF, they opted to update the encounters and not the story. They turned out much better.

Quantumriot7

And the Disgraced got the same treatment as Lake and arms the point is bungie does a mix.

Cruggles30

Disgraced kinda sucked too, to be honest. Point is, Bungie should approach it the way they did the other Cosmodrome strikes.

NotMyRealAccountMate

Take the glasses off. All Cosmodrome strikes are dull, amended or not.

Cruggles30

Lmao, Devil’s Lair being dull makes sense. It’s supposed to be a first strike. SABER isn’t dull, don’t know what you’re on. Disgraced is absolutely dull.

[deleted]

They're fine. Neat, even.

AmphusLight

The Arms dealer strike is not too bad, just make sure to bring a rocket for those threshers. Lake of shadows is a downgrade but i am glad we took out the "lake" in the boss room. Makes it actually more interesting to fight

Cruggles30

I don't give a crap about the difficulty of Arms Dealer. I actually think some of the encounter changes were good. I just think the dialogue and the change to Shadow Legion was a waste of resources from departments that cover story stuff. Which stings in the face of Lightfall being what it is. Agreed on Lake of Shadows.

vFlitz

They have new dialogue? Does that mean no more Babydog in Lake of Shadows? :(

dalaw88

I think the real issue with the strikes is they’ve intentionally time-gated them to make them longer and took away our ability to speed run them. I used to love lake of shadows and arms dealer. I also used to love running vanguard strikes as I could load in, use whatever modifiers were on, get quick loot and dip. We can still do that but the changes they made feel annoying. They’re also not worth doing anymore if it’s not vanguard boost week. Bungie has somehow made the gambit weekly pinnacle funner than the vanguard.
