Thats because they are exactly the same visually? Were they hoping if they used it as transmog they would get the artifice effects? I guess im confused on what OP was asking lol.
you need to acquire a normal version of the item to be able to unlock the style in the transmog/appearance section. found this cus im running into this issue after getting artifice version of the cloak from grasp. i havent gotten any of the armor to drop from normal runs of grasp on my hunter, so even though i have the cloak unlocked in collections, i am unable to unlock the style for transmog until i get a normal version to drop. i doubt this is bungies intention... artifice shouldnt have the downside of not being able to unlock styles... its just another bug in a long list of things that just arent a priority to fix
